Just some helping advice. 1. You dont have to take the front shroud off. 2. When you separate the enclosure, you'll see two little notches on the bottom front part of the enclosure. The back half of the enclosure has little "Feet" at each side on the bottom. I put the feet into the notches first, pry the enclosure a part just a bit then drop the filter in, its a very tight fit but it ensures your bottom isn't separated when you put the clamps on the top left and right. I have a 2018 Q50 tuned on ECUtek, fast intentions full down pipe / cat back exhaust and Z1 BOV's to help keep the turbos healthy. Rocks 450whp 498lb torque. I run these air filters and havent had an issue, love em!

Thanks for the advice. I will try that on my next oil change! Nice setup! Without the cats, do you smell alot of unburnt gas fumes? How loud is that setup. I was thinking just lower DP, Cat back, and a Tune. I want the power but not too much extra noise. Actually DailyQ50's Exhaust setup is the sheet. I don't know how much that would cost though.

@@LayzeLyfe You smell the gas a bit, yes. Although, it doesnt come into the cabin but if you're at a stop with the windows down, you'll smell it a bit. The Exhaust has a 14inch Resonator on it. Really loud between 4-6k RPM but crusin on the highway you can't hear it. Now they make a 10inch non res and thats loud pretty much all the time and i didnt want that. Im lowered with 10.5x20's all the way around so instead of going with Greddy I went with Fast Intentions. The mufflers themselves don't come near the ground compared to the greddy but a good exhaust will cost between 1500-2000 for a 2.5inch.

I gotta tell you that my '18 Q50 Hybrid had aftermarket filters that were made in Poland already installed. I replaced them with OEM. The perimeter where the filter fits into the housing fits a little snugger, so the filter doesn't wiggle around as much. The gasket part is a little thinner on the OEM and easier to get the covers back in place. The twin turbo model working space is tighter than the Hybrid.

I have never had a problem like this changing an air filter before on any car. I can't believe that Infiniti made this so hard to do. It is a very tight fit, Infiniti should have given at least another 1/4 inch of room for this. In the Infiniti Ms and the Gs, changing the air filter was so easy. Hope you dont do any other work on that car. All yoy gotta do is pull the clips off, push the top up, slide it up, slip em out, slide the new one in, press it toward the fitting, slide it back into the bottom 2 slips, pull it back tight, clip it in. I wanna see a video of you upgrading to silicone lol. Be a good 2 hour video

Hi Robert, I think you are referring to the 3.7L NA engines being easy to pop out the filters. This is the 3.0L twin turbo engine, it has alot less wiggle room due to the heat exchangers.

It’s probably a good idea when you do a DIY video that you actually try it once first and then video record it so you don’t look like you don’t know what your doing!👎🏼
