I can't say anything about 'compensate', but demonstrating some extra effort by showing your Coursera certificate is definitely an advantage that shows that you care. At least you could refer to your certificates in your motivation letters, interviews and so on.

I have never seen the refund function there to be honest. As for the assignment dates - don't worry, most of the times they just get rescheduled if you can't make it in time.

Hi there just another question on the specialization part. My specialization have four courses in total. I just wondering if I enroll for the 7 days free trial to start on the 1st course while I submit my financial aid for the 2nd course. Does the free trial part on 1st course impact me to get my certificate for free (lets' say I get financial aid for the other 3 course) that shows my specialization completion in the end? Anyway thank you for the time to explaining these useful tips for us, appreciate that a lot!^^

If I am getting you right, in that case you would NOT receive the certificate for the first course but WOULD receive the certificate for the second one. I don't think that having the first course in a free trial mode will in any way affect your second course of the specialisation.

Hello Ilnur!! I reset the deadline in a course because it was overdue and i'm still continuing. If i pass all the tests will i get a certificate? Hi, Question for everybody...did someone got turned down for "financial aid"? and if yes did you try the "financial aid" again for the same course or did are you not allowed to ask for aid again for the course that got denied to in the first place? In generell can you even ask aid again if you ever get denied?

Hi! Just a heads up, Coursera has stopped receiving requests for new financial aid temporarily. I contacted them and the response was that they are doing this to better understand student needs and do not have an estimate on when they are reinstating the aid.

I've never heard of such entity as a sub-course. I know only about courses and specializations, where you can only apply for financial aid only to the courses one by one but cannot apply for the whole specialization

So what I did was apply for financial aid, and in the process, I decided to audit the course while still waiting. I waited for about three weeks or so before approval, and I didn't stop me from earning my cert.

Hey! I'm fine, thank you! (1) Well, it depends. Some employers see the certificates as an indicator of your interest to a certain topic, plus as a sign of your discipline. (2) Yes. Say, when I worked in AI in education sector I often had to refer to some principles of Python programming language when speaking to software developers which I wouldn't be able to do had I not taken several courses on Python. Also, the academic information seeking course was very helpful for me when I was doing my masters dissertation. So yes, it was not useless for me

If you enroll for a free option, you just receive the access to the course's materials but not the certificate. If you want to have your course for free AND the free certificate in the end, you've got to apply for the financial aid as explained in the video

Now they are only offering 25% discount per course in a certificate, which it cost more compare to paying the monthly fee and completing the certificate within 3-4 month. Below is the response I got from them about financial aid: “If you are going to continue for financial aid, every course will cost you $36.75 and if you are going to subscribe for the whole specialization it would be $49 USD monthly. I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions, Do not hesitate to contact us.”

Well, technically that means that you are now taking a free version of the course, which does not imply giving you a certificate when you finish. This means that if you want to receive a certificate and not pay for it, you might try to apply for the financial aid for that particular course and wait for two weeks for the approval. That might work, though I am not 100% sure

No, you shouldn't start a course before you've received the financial aid approval. Otherwise they will not give you the aid

There is now 100% guarantee that you will get a job by only having a certificate. But it will definitely enrich your CV

I am unable to receive the certificate after the completion of the course through financial aid

@@IlnurMiftakhov No sir, I am based in South Africa and a Zimbabwean citizen I just completed my first course, my account says verify your ID but I have tried to send the best clear iD picture it still failed

Oh wow. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge about that aspect of Coursera. I registered at Coursera so many years ago that now I do not remember anything about verifying ID. Sorry

I have applied for financial aid in coursera and completed the course.But didn't receive certificate Edit:I just got my certificate

But did you wait for two weeks after application and did you then receive an email confirming your financial aid being approved?

How many times can you get Kusara courses for free with financial aid? After applying for 11 courses, I was given a discount of 75% in subsequent requests. Is it possible to receive unlimited courses and certificates for free?
