NOTE: when talking about The Chosen, I misquoted the reference of the Jots and Tittles... Not only did I butcher the phrase, 😂 I had a brain malfunction and forgot the context of the verse. I need some brain food here soon before I loose all my brain cells. Thanks for understanding! LOL.

I love the way you just put it out there and don’t try to act or portray that everything is perfect . I follow other Amish - Mennonite channels and they’ve become very materialistic and it’s more about buying things and decorating etc . Thank you for staying true to yourself.

I really appreciate how honest your answers are. Also how open you are with your life experiences. You are a joy to listen to. You are so genuine and down to earth. Your faith is evident and “out there” for all to see but you don’t get heavy handed about it. I am also a believer and I really like what you said that the Christian life is a journey, which it is, and not a destination. Thanks for these Q & A times, l learn a lot, and although I am a 72 yr. old grandma I think you never stop learning. God Bless you and your family. Joy S from Northern Indiana

Thank you so much for sharing on why it so important to find a church home. I moved far from my Church home and I am now trying to find a new Church home near me. Can you please pray that I find a place of worship that I will continue to grow in our Heavenly Father's Word, connect with like- minded people of God, and we have a love for one another🙏 ❤

Great job in answering those questions!! As a mother with young children don't ever feel guilty if not everything gets done, the season of life you are in right now with young lively children passes by so quickly, as long as the house is still standing the work will still be there when those littles are in school or have homes of their own!!! Always take time to smell the roses!! God bless.

I like alone time, too. As for faith, my husband and I are in what feels like a hold on time. It seems God has us in a valley while he recovers from a brain bleed, which is a whole other story. It's hard to convey to our church and family that according to medical research, it can take months for him to heal. A broken bone would heal faster. We are trying to be content where we are and I appreciate your encouraging words.

We don’t use it anymore, but we were using a midnight curriculum for a while, and while looking at their seventh and eighth grade stuff, I was amazed that I was able to compare it to the stuff my friends son here in California public school was doing in 10th grade.

Hey, checking in again. I now live in Montgomery Texas and I’m still following you. I don’t identify as Christian at all, but I resonate with so much of what you say. I’m 50 now and my boys are 17 and almost 21. I feel that I am a conservative dresser, I’m attracted to modest dressing. I didn’t even know Mennonite existed 7 years ago. I just hadn’t come across it. I was raised in the Catholic school system… in Melbourne Australia. I am learning about my German, Irish and Scottish ancestors which is how I came across your blog somehow. Xxx

I appreciate you answering this question for me ❤ When I asked, I was struggling with the fact that a church member basically told me that I'm failing as a wife bcuz I don't force my husband to church. I love that you said surround yourself with Godly ppl!! I need that in my life. Today is our 16th anniversary & I've decided that, like Paul said to the Thessalonians, we need to encourage & love each other always & that's enough bcuz it's less stressful 😂 We have God with us, our children & our health so that's important ❤️ God bless y'all... Love when you share with us 💕

Amen. God bless you as you work through it all. Forcing your husband to go to church is not your responsibility. It would work against everything IMO. Because being a controlling woman is not what we are called to and it will repell our men. Paul talks about the wives winning over husbands by their kind conduct without saying a word. Sending hugs!

Im so sorry people have said that to you! My husband also didnt like attending church- I went alone with our girls for many years! He now attends with us most weeks. I never forced him or nagged him (as that is unbiblical)- I clung 1 Corth 7:14 and prayed. That’s all we can do! Stay strong and keep being the children if you have them!

@Organizedmeals Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I definitely feel like a failure sometimes bcuz I want my children to have their parents be good role models & set that example, but honestly, I don't think church is the only answer to everything. Yes, we fellowship, we go to church & we try to be good stewards of our family/ community, but we just haven't stayed on the path that others might think we should be on. I struggle so much with fitting in & this videos contents made me realize I overthink & expect too much from other sinners about wanting perfect. 💜

In the old days, youngsters learned in eight years what current students don’t even in 12 years. A GOOD foundation through 8th grade, followed by apprenticeship/technical skills would seek many students much better than today’s system. I was watching a British doctor recently who said that they go straight into medical education when finished high school, even if younger teens.

Thanks for sharing your views. I love hearing your thoughts on motherhood and life in general. Don’t you worry. I don’t like cleaning either. 😂. We are not a slave to our house. One word I will take from this post is that the path to Jesus is in the journey and that not all is revealed at the same time. I will take that to heart. I am catholic and not religious. I go to mass sometimes and get this feeling of being overwhelmed. I don’t know what I should be looking for or searching inside of me. I read the Bible and I need to find a book or a YT channel that helps me along to understand. Hugs from France.

So far everything I've heard from them seems very on point. At home with the Beveres is one of the podcasts. But they have multiple ones. Lisa speaks directly to women. Sending hugs.

Jeanine - YOU are the best … a wonderful Christian woman … you are so much more genuine that some other Mennonite women on KZread/ Instagram - especially those who relocate to warmer climates - need the latest house totally upgraded - very materialistic etc etc - you know who I mean.

I appreciate your compliment however she's a friend of mine and a wonderful person. Very kind and down to earth. ❤️ I personally admire people that have a passion for making their home beautiful. It truly is our haven, and I think there nothing wrong with enjoying making it a beautiful for your family. Social media can quickly make something or someone appear a certain way that may not be so, especially if they focus on a particular niche like home decor. I'm so random I can't stick to a niche much, lol. It would help if I could, but I get bored quickly. 😴 thanks for being here! Appreciate you

Some groups would be that way, where life is just about the tradition. It's sad

Curious, are you ‘allowed’ to have friends from ‘the world’? Like, would you have non-mennointes over for dinner? Just curious if there are any regulations about such things.

😅 ‭For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matt.5.18.KJV I guess my biggest concern with the Chosen is it is a Mormon run show. Otherwise we all should be aware and make sure children are aware that it is a show not the Bible.

😀 I completely butchered the phrase and verse context. I think I need to go feed my brain some brain supplements and preplan my answers better. Thanks for the correction #mombrain Yes, I can understand your concern. The producer behind it isn't mormon, but the studios is. I still think there is much good that has come from the show. It's very touching. There have been a few times where I noticed some discrepancies... the main one being the pool of bethseda story, which concerned me. However I felt the message was scriptural and brought biblical stories to life. But I respect others view points if they prefer not to watch

Mennonites are constantly with worldly people- through business, at the store or doing prison ministries. Many do foster care too!! They just don’t encourage close friendships with worldly people (what fellowship does light have with darkness).

Janeen can answer, of course, but your question struck a chord with me. Please don’t take this wrong - I write it kindly from an older woman’s experience. Evangelism has many arms. This family is not isolated from worldliness. They travel, shop, go on KZread, interact with others regularly. Their Presence and Christ-like behavior alone is an evangelical tool, touching the hearts of many and giving reason to “outsiders” to contemplate their own walk/lifestyle. They probably “evangelize” more than most of us! 😊 imho

@@theMennoniteMom thanks so mucj I did not knew that. I seen some aroind my city, and when I smille at the women or jist said high or I complement them on their dress they just ignore me or walk away. That s why I thoug u gius where not allow to tall to non Mennonite. I guess it depends maybe on groups. When I pray for purity, God showed me Mennonites are perfect example of purity for Christ. Thanks.

Have faith like a little child. Children often use their imagination to fill in bits and pieces of a story. The Bible leaves some room for wonder (imagination), so in my humble opinion The Chosen could be viewed as healthy entertainment that fosters a better relationship/understanding of Biblical accounts. It shouldn't be a replacement for a relationship with Jesus but a tool to see how this could have possibly happened in real life, this isn't just a fairytale, view it more like a historical documentary of sorts.

She got a blood infection, because i missed seeing her one teats was swollen. It's ok if that's how you view it and wish to leave. I'm not offended. However, We poured 1000s of dollars into her medical care... late nights at the vet, running back and forth, doing everything we could to get her back. They were able to get on top of the infection but she still needed a not of care and a lot more $$$. And we didn't have insurance. I didn't have the medical knowledge to take care of her and one of the vets wanted her. I knew she would be in much better hands with a medical professional. The options were, keep paying 1000s when we had no insurance and little money, or let a professional adopt her and continue taking care of her. It was really hard, but that was the best option for the dog and us. Money isn't there when it isn't. And I'm not a vet. She needed quality care. So if you call that neglected and unloving, that's your choice. IMO, Unloving and neglected wouldn't invest 1000s just to give up a dog for adoption in the end. Many people take dogs to a shelter or leave them to die.

Xxx
