Lexi had shoes on so complainers should be happy about that. I grew up on a farm in Australia and was barefoot most of the time. Somehow I'm still alive at 74.

Being barefoot is better as long as they don’t step on glass or things like that. Feet need to feel the ground

Yes, a Pergola would be what I would suggest for the concrete pad/fireplace. You could make a dining area with table/chairs as well as a sitting area. And since there is electric out there you can add the lovely outdoor lights so it's nice and cozy. If you wanted to and the budget allowed you could even add a small kitchen out there with a grill, gas stove burner, a sink, & small fridge. That would be a wonderful place to hang out in the summer when you aren't out camping. And a great place to entertain if you are into that. You have a lovely place! The barn idea sounds wonderful.

When we bought our place, we planted Prairie poplars they grow incredibly fast, in 5 years from twig to full 40" tall With your big yard, I would plant lots of fruit trees as well, oh the potential 🌳 Thanks for giving us a tour of your place. 🏡 Your kids are so adorable, I have 6 grandkids, and oh, how precious God's children are. We used to have a bank barn & our swing was fastened from the peek. We had so much fun! Playing in the granary & sliding down the huge straw pile. Good memories! Love your personality. 😊
