@@lionofjudahlambofgod9132 As orthodox we would say something similar to you brother. Within Protestant Churches there is a lot of emphasis on having experiences, and most of the worship is based on emotion. Talking in tongues is a good example, in the Orthodox Church we have examples of talking in tongues. But it’s never a sort of a ecstatic nonsense. It’s usually when a Godly person who can’t speak the language of someone who asks them about the faith, and the two people are able to speak with each other in their own languages

Let me start my comment with what I remember from my first visit to an Orthodox Church. After Liturgy, the Priest came to greet me, and after having a short conversation, he invited me to return with a special request: that I should remember that he is human, and if he should upset or offend me, that I please do not blame the Church but hold him accountable. In a way, he disrobed in front of me and put ego and pride aside and that got my attention. Sadly, that took me down a road of being exposed to incredible infighting and "politics" amongst men within the Church. I literally had opportunity to adhere to the Priest's request not to hold the Church accountable for the actions of men. Also, I quite literally had to wait for a Bishop to be replaced before I was even afforded an opportunity to interact with that office of the Church and to receive permission to be baptized. By the Grace of God, I was baptized at the St. Nicholas of Japan Parish in JHB, South Africa. That is then why I feel inclined to comment here. The Church must evangelize, but as this video says, there is a huge measure of laziness and complacency amongst many that simply grew up "being" Orthodox. For me, as a convert to Orthodoxy, I have no illusions about the fallible nature of men and I agree with the message to evangelize amongst our fellow Orthodox faithful where a huge need & spiritual hunger presents itself everyday. I do shudder though at the thought of introducing people with less passion than I believe I carry in my heart, to a community where pride and ego steps out of line as a matter of habit so often. Being non-greek within a mostly Greek community, I know how impenetrable they can make the Church seem. Instead of a place of refuge and spiritual nourishment, the Church more often comes across as a jealously guarded fortress through the behavior of her children. Alas, we remain men and it should not distract me from the duty I have to remain humble in the presence of all the servants before God. I believe that the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of Christ is made detectable - as One and True - not just in our spirit and hearts, but also at events such as when we receive the Holy Light. I believe that the creed, not having been altered by the Eastern Church at the schism in 1054, confirms the authenticity of the apostolic succession we profess to have within the Church. That continuity is quite important for me, for Holy Tradition is as important as Holy Scripture to me. The excommunication of each by the other between the Eastern and Roman Church, having been mutually rescinded in 1964, poses a problem to answering the question of how we know we are the one true Church with absolute conviction, but yet again I am reminded of the Priest asking me not to hold the Church accountable for the acts of men and in that I find myself still at home in the Orthodox Church. My experience is my own, yet pride and ego mirrors the "ego and arrogance" we point to in the Roman Church. Once we stop focussing on why we are right, we can start contemplating why faith is important for anyone we meet and why it is our duty to open our hearts and the doors to the fortress to those waiting outside in the cold to come into the safe haven that the Church ought to be in this world. I was blessed to meet a Greek Orthodox couple when I was quite young that accepted me and my family as part of their family and allowed me to explore Orthodoxy, as I myself had been on a long spiritual journey and was stuck out in the cold. I know from my own experience what an "unveiling of Orthodoxy, the best kept secret", can mean to people like myself that had to really work hard to "come home". Finally, to everyone on here having arguments about different churches - another message from someone in the Church to my question about other churches: let them be. Tonight, you may have a sandwich for supper and another may have a feast, but in the end it is not what we eat that nourishes us, and God in His mercy can be anywhere - so it is not my job to judge their meals. My only responsibility is toward what I allow myself to consume from the plate in front of me. I can see how the channel moderator is quite focused on "our own" and almost scoffs at the comments of others on here, but far from claiming infallibility, even our differences can serve to unite us and I am inclined to remind myself of the difference between men and God. As men we seek, so we cannot judge, but we can and must pray for each other and for those that herd the flock so that nobody that seeks finds silence in the hearts of the Orthodox faithful. To those that do not believe at all, there is no point to prove here and no scores to be kept. May you too be blessed. In Christ, Benjamin

I've visited catholic churches, but where i live (Netherlands) there are almost no orthodox churches to visit. And when there are theyre in different languages like Russian or Syrian or Greek, which i don't understand. Maybe you have some advice? For those who think that Orthodox Churches are too "ethnic" I'll say, yeah, that can happen....but have you ever walked into a Protestant Church in the Deep South and thought, "They are just too white" or "They are just too Southern. Why do they have to sing *that* style of Gospel music?" How about how segregated most Churches are in America? Do y'all understand that you, if you are Americans (I know KZread reaches all over the world), *that* is your ethnicity so to speak, and your churches will also reflect that just as much (and actually maybe a little more) than the "ethnic" Orthodox Churches (in which even the most ethnic of Orthodox Churches will have an American spirit in them to some degree). Gospel music, praise music, all of that stuff in the Protestant church grew directly out of the culture of the West (and American in particular), for the most part. I've had Greek family (with an accent and everything) that walked into Protestant Churches and the entire thing from start to finish felt completely alienating to them: completely and utterly alienating. It baffled them to see what "American" churches do. I was raised as a Methodist and when we moved to the South when I was a little kid I encountered Protestant Christianity of the South. Even as a Protestant, I was bullied and brow beaten by extremely aggressive kids for not being the "right" kind of Protestant (and for having a non-Anglo name and for being a Yankee -- even though my mother's family started out as Jamestown colonists and settled in Kentucky... nope I was a Yankee). This is the experience of "evangelism" I got as a fellow Protestant. Imagine what the Orthodox encountered in the South (and West and Midwest). People here complain about how "ethnic" some (only some) Orthodox Churches are....but probably don't know the experience of the Orthodox when they first arrived here in the U.S. This is not to excuse how things are now...but it might help to explain things a bit. If you meet a very "ethnic" Church, try to enjoy it. Try to immerse yourself in it a bit. These cultures were marinated in Orthodoxy and they can tell you something about perseverance amidst suffering. I've known people that grew up under various Communist Regimes (the Soviets killed about 26 million Orthodox Christians). I've known people whose grandparents had to choose between keeping their faith and dying or becoming Catholic and living (WWII in the Balkans was rough)...they chose death. I had a parishioner who went through WWII as a slave laborer for the Nazis. Why? Because she was a Slav. I had a great Uncle who was born under Ottoman rule (for 600 years, his region had been under the Turks) and when he made it to America White Supremacists started lynching people in the town he settled in, including Greeks. He and some others fought back and the lynching stopped. I know a Greek Priest from South Carolina who spent his childhood at the back of the bus because Greeks weren't "white enough" to sit in the front of the bus during Jim Crow. I've known Russians who spent their early years in DP camps after WWII an when they came to America...what did people call them? Dirty Commies...even though they were the furthest thing you could ever be from that. You know what...despite all that, they love America and her people. They also love their own people too. Look, I get it when people don't like Churches that are too "ethnic." I belonged to multi-ethnic Churches and I am a priest at a multi-ethnic Church, and as a person of Greek descent (and other backgrounds as well), I'm happy to learn about Serbian culture, Romanian culture, Ukrainian, Russian, and even English culture (and there is an English Orthodox Culture... the first New England was in Asia Minor as was the first New York.... there was an English Quarter of Constantinople until, at least 1204). I love all the different Orthodox cultures, but we do almost everything in English because that's our common language. But it's fun to learn some other languages for a few prayers too. Learn from all these people, Enjoy it. Come to an ethnic parish with that attitude, and you'll probably do better (maybe not...some people are just jerks), but people like to be appreciated. And if you're an American or a Western European, remember, you're just as ethnic as the minorities are. You can learn a lot about survival and tenacious faith from many of these "ethnic" Churches. We'll need to learn that, I believe, in the coming generations.

I do appreciate the opportunities to hear the stories of those who maintained the faith in the face of Islamic persecution and the horrors of communism. Witnessing different customs in action is wonderful. And praise God that some brave souls went through all of that or escaped and came to America only to be rejected again. It is because of these individuals that folks like me could be introduced to and brought into the Orthodox Church. Yet, Father, let me ask you...how many homilies are given reflecting on the lives of the saints in France? How often we do see icons of saints who lived and even at times martyred in places like Spain, Germany, Norway, etc.? How many of our parishes are named after pre-schism saints that lived, ministered, and worshipped in the pre-schism West? And when we celebrate the different ethnicities at our culture/ethnic festivals, how many include dances or music from the West? Yes, having Greek, Arabic, and Russian dances and songs is what draws outsiders to visit. Its all exotic like the food that is sold. And when people come into the Church, how often is the West presented in a negative light as if no contributions have ever come from the West? Yes, Father, many Americans need to learn from other cultures and see how the Faith has moved people in all places and at all times. Yet, we must not just assume that the West will be given fair treatment in sharing her story. I believe we must do better in recognizing and recovering the Orthodox heritage of the West. Will this please all? No. But might it help some feel at ease and welcomed into the Church? Certainly. Is this just capitulating to trends and passions of the world? No, as St. Paul said, "To the Jews I became a Jew...To those outside the Law I became as one outside the Law..." (I Cor. 9:19-23).

@@patricklee8088 If you look in my parish bookstore you will find many Irish Saints in the Icons and some of the books on lives of the saints. I know of some parishes named after St. Columba (a particular favorite of mine), there are Orthodox services to St. Patrick, etc. They are on the Orthodox calendars. My Synaxarion (lives of saints) from Mount Athos includes Western saints. I know many people named for Pre-Schism saints (St. Genevieve is popular and on her feast day she is commemorated ... and I know an Indian convert...South Asian Indian, who took the name Cuthbert. I've known many converts who took Western Saints names). Not many lives of saints are used in the homilies I've heard (it's usually on the Gospel or the Epistle), but I've used the works of the Venerable Bede in writing homilies. I've spoken of the Irish concept of Green Martyrdom vs. Red or White Martyrdom in my homilies. There are Western Rite parishes in the Antiochian Archdiocese and ROCOR. St. John Maximovitch encouraged learning about pre-schism saints. Many great Orthodox saints were Easterners who went West (St. Irenaeus of Lyons...or Romans who went East: St. John Cassian)...they all get taught about and heard. The Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts is by St. Gregory the Dialogist, the Pope of Rome. One of the patrons of my parish (whose relics are in the altar alongside St. Herman of Alaska) is St. Alexander of Rome. Many Roman Saints are included and celebrated in the Orthodox world.... St. Benedict of Nursia is highly venerated. Here are some Lord I have Cried Verses put together for Vespers for March 17th for St. Patrick by the OCA (although most venerate another Western saint, St. Alexius the Man of God from Rome on that day): * (Stichera on “Lord, I call” for St Patrick, Bishop of Armagh, Enlightener of Ireland (c. 461)) v. (3) For with the Lord there is mercy and with Him is plenteous redemption, and He will deliver Israel from all his iniquities. Tone 1* Rejoice, hills and groves of Ireland! Leap for joy, lakes and rivers! For behold, through the grace of God from on high, blessing and strength have come upon you, for your enlightener and spiritual father comes to you: Patrick, glorious among hierarchs, a zealot of the Orthodox Faith,// chosen by God to be an apostle! v. (2) Praise the Lord, all nations! Praise Him, all peoples! Holy Patrick cries out to the newly-enlightened Christians: “Listen, my spiritual children; I have begotten you, as the Gospel says; I have betrothed you as a bride to Christ God. Stand fast, therefore, in the Faith and confess it fearlessly! Do not be afraid of the hostile pagans,// that God may manifest Himself to you as a great Helper and Protector!” v. (1) For His mercy is abundant towards us; and the truth of the Lord endures for ever. Great is your faith, holy Bishop Patrick. Having left your homeland and lands enlightened by Christ, you journeyed to a land lying in the darkness of idolatry, bringing the Gospel of Christ to the lost. You did not depart till you had brought the whole land to the Orthodox Faith.// Therefore we rightly praise you.

Along with tracts left on cars and doors and community outreach events feeding the poor etc. This is all awful casual for what supposedly is a matter of salvation for people. I lived in this city for almost 10 years surrounded by 8 Parishes and never once even heard of Orthodoxy until I spent months attending a Roman Catholic Church which prompted me to look into Church history as the RC Church seemed all wrong. I’m grateful to have found what logically does appear to be the Church Christ created and hope to enter it one day. However the evangelism is abysmal and every time I bring it up all I get is denial, excuses, outage and self aggrandizing. At this point the most impressive thing I could ever hope to see is a Orthodox Street preacher. Orthodox need to Evangelize like it actually matters and cut this elitist private club of theologians routine.

While the rest of the churches in the West ebb and flow with the ideologies and politics that are the flavor of the month, the Orthodox Church remains just as it has always been since the founding of the Christian Church with the Apostles themselves. That is the most effective evangelism if you ask me. People are being drawn to Orthodoxy for this reason. God is revealing to people the true church, believe this.

Most orthodox Christians are openly racist and ethnonationalist that goes against the teachings of the new testament. The original church was actually established by jews with gentile converts. In the New Testament, Paul demands active unity in the church, a unity that explicitly joins together differing ethnic groups because of their common identity in Christ. Paul proclaims that, in Christ, believers form a brand-new humanity. The old barrier of hostility and division between ethnic groups has been demolished by the cross; and now, all peoples are to be one in Christ (Rom. 4; Gal. 3-4; Col. 3; Eph. 2). Christians of other ethnicities aren’t just equal to us; they are joined to us. Paul insists that the primary identity of Christians is to be based on their union with Christ-not on traditional sociological, geographical, and ethnic connections. Again, the implications are profound. Christians of other races aren’t just equal to us; they are joined to us. As Christians, we’re all part of the same body, united by the presence of the same Holy Spirit who indwells us all. We’re not just friends or fellow worshipers in the same religion, but brothers and sisters in the same family. Favortism is a sin and likned to the lawbreakers of old. Orthodox and other ethno based churches are a taint.

Born into the Greek Orthodox Church...Grandfather was the Greek Orthodox Priest of the Village. Move to Australia when I was 10 years old...Left home left the church...joined many churches professing to be Christian. I loved Jesus in my childhood, I loved His church...my father was very strict and very angry which pushed me out in the world....I looked for Christ in those churches but found hurrah hurrah, never the less, there was still some kind of learning and security to be found in those churches. What I learned in the Greek Church and Jesus I used as a measuring stick for all the other churches. I have come back to the Greek Church because for me the church was a piece of Heaven in my childhood that my soul was missing, and I now saw the church from different eyes from when I was 10 years old. The Greek people have suffered over the centuries to keep the church of God intact and in its original state that Jesus built. Yes, it is protected .... if you read the lives of Her saints and how they lived in Christ and suffered persecution you would understand why there is no hurrah hurrah evangelism as it is seen today in America, The Church quietly goes about its business and works in many countries in the world with the people to teach them about Christ and His Church in Greek and in their own languages...and if the people do not have a written language, the Fathers of the Church create for them an alphabet and teach them to write and worship God in the same way. I do not believe that the Greek people are lazy. The Greek people love Christ Jesus, and they know what they have been blessed with. If the Orthodox Church is timid it is because their walk has been, tainted..with blood and persecution throughout the time of the church beginnings. The Church was the estate that always came first for the Greeks and second, their country, to save and keep protected in its original form. God bless His Church forever, Amen

Everyone is so sensitive and on edge on the internet. I'm pretty guilty of that myself. I consider myself a learning Christian, but I have yet to be baptized. I grew up in a Presbyterian church and like most youth I strayed in my high school years. But I had religion as the basis of my worldview and still do. It's shaped my life and over time I have become more and more convicted and opinionated but after getting married and having children I have this really strong urge and compulsion to find God. I mean you always are given glimpses and insights or even revelations about the love of God and his glory but I am drawn to the idea of actually feeling the lord and understanding him. I believe I have been led here in my search and I believe orthodox is the true church. It seems that although the bishops may be lacking in the evangelist department someone IS picking up the slack. Evangelism is being done and as more people start to open their eyes more people will come to know Jesus Christ.

I have often, most of my life, believed in the "invisible" universal church. I believe that every True Believer no matter what his denomination, communion, or sect, whether Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox, is a member of the Body of Christ. One of the main reasons I believe this is because people are simply too diverse in their understanding and experiences to fit into one box no matter how big it is. In fact, the larger the box generally the worse it is. Every person whoever and wherever they are, who believes that Jesus Christ has come to earth in the flesh, who believes he died and rose physically from the dead, is my brother and we are each members of Christ's body. The wheat and the tares will grow together in the world until the harvest. At the harvest, they shall be gathered and separated. The tares will be cast into the furnace of fire and the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Jesus specifically says the field is the world. And throughout this wide world grow the sons of the Kingdom right beside the sons of the wicked one. Believers grow to maturity in this world, as do the unbelievers. We will be separated from the wicked at the harvest.

Im a German protestant moving closer to orthodoxy. Some questions, that keep me from converting: From Catholicism and some experience of orthodox liturgy and monasteries, I see a strong overemphasis on Mary that is worshipped as a kind of sub-deity, and in my eyes not just honored as the most important saint. For example I have no problem with strongly honouring the saints and Mary as our forerunner in the faith. But where in the early church, and I mean the apostolic church in the first century and second, that Mary and the Saints are asked for saving us and for grace etc. Do you understand what my problem is with that - from my perspective - great difference? Also I do not find the strong emphasis on relics anywhere, but my experience is that in practice relics are more honored than God, who worked through the Saints. I would be glad if somebody could tell me, where the Orthodox church finds these things in the time of the apostles. If course I know many such things with the church fathers, but not with the apostles. Best regards.

Mary in orthodox church was born with the original sin as all humans except our lord Jesus , in catholic church Mary was without the original sin. The main difference is in the origins of genesis. In orthodox church the original sin is our genetic nature, since we were all from the two ancestors we are all similar to them. Mary and all the other saints are humans like the Adam and Eva, once out of paradise. The fact that we venerate her so much is because she was the most holy common person. On the other hand, if there were not saints, what would be the meaning of the gospel? If there were not saints, gospel would be just a book. Saints are the materialized gospel. Mary despite her human nature, she was completely aligned with God's will, and she proves that we could also succeed in faith.

Don't be afraid to tell people you are Orthodox Christian and act like an Orthodox Christian. Mahatma Gandhi told an interviewer that Christians would do what they say, they would convert many Indians. (That's a very loose paraphrase, but it is through example when we evangelism!) Let us remember the prayer of Jesus about the men who were chosen. They were the "poorest" of the Hebrews, the "uneducated". Read those things which Peter wrote. Sounds like a university graduate to me but written in a way that people could understand. How I wish I knew the Greek of that time, or even of this time, to read how he wrote or if someone wrote what he spoke to the people, just like Jesus. @@StNicholasTarpon with respect, that is an appalling response to this question. Of course you believe the Orthodox Church professes the Faith correctly. That goes without saying. Every religious institution believes that they have it correct. This is a prime example of the Orthodox failure in evangelism. This was a perfect opportunity to talk to this person about Theosis, the Essence-Energy Distinction, the validity of Cappadocian Trinitarianism over Augustinian Trinitarianism, and the issue of the Filioque. And you didn't even try. You didn't drop the ball, I can't even say you fumbled it, because you didn't even bother to reach out your hand. You just let it fly straight past you and into the goal, and now that's one more person who will go to Roman Catholicism rather than Orthodoxy. Do you even care about this individual's soul? If you didn't have the confidence to speak on theological issues, you could have at least provided some links to resources where the individual could learn more. I’ve lived in a big metropolis and in tiny towns, and I’d never even encountered Orthodoxy until recently online. That tells me there is no desire to interact with their communities or serve the hurt and lost all around them. I recently emailed the closest Orthodox church to me requesting information about their mid-week services and never got a response. I know of one prominent You-Tuber who is very open and respectful in visiting other churches to gain a better understanding of their beliefs who was actually asked to leave an Orthodox service he brought his family to. 😮 That alone makes me seriously question of this is indeed the one true church founded by Christ. 🤷‍♀️

To be a Christian is to repent and believe that Jesus died for your sins. That is what Jesus taught, no matter what else you do. " What ever you do, do it to the Lord". Do not let others stumble by what you do. Be prepared to give an explanation for what you believe. Try and do these things and you will do well.

The Orthodox church tries to stay TRUE to the faith. Being the church is more important than evangelizing if it will frighten people. It is in HOW we live our lives and if people See it they will find us. We pray for them and ask them to 'visit with us the House of GOD. ' The Bible ( The Word written for New Testament came 30 yrs after the time of Jesus it had to be written but redone many times later, of course, but the main theme is the same) But before that the Apostles taught what Jesus taught and they shared and the churches were built and set up by disciples of the Lord. Not perfect people but the people lived, shared and ate together according to the book of ACTS. They were ONE although having more than one church. Not believing differently. BUT...... As time when on heretics crept in the churches and the Priests had to watch for this and the Bishops and to address it. Ecumenical Councils kept the church on foot in right paths along the way. But in the meantime Tradition and the Scripture is used because the bible was not written for 300 yrs for New Testament and so in the meantime Tradition had to be the way people learned. They followed Disciples of the Lord, they learned by what was taught and done. One told another about what they were doing and learning. They shared. Orthodox churches often do though keep people away when they segregate by speaking in native languages and then people speaking English can't understand what is said. THAT can cause people to not stay. We need to make sure people do know the meaning in English if we are in an English speaking country. THEN we can SHARE the faith and bring in visitors to learn and know it is TRUE and the One church. They will see and hear for themselves. My Spiritual father said ' Orthodoxy is " One of the best-kept secrets" BUT we must not KEEP it that way. We must invite people AFTER they SEE our lives. Once they see we are truly faithful and love our faith, they may want to visit the One TRUE church Of JESUS. BUT the language needs to be in English If it is held in an English speaking country, I feel anyway. It is very hard for people to follow along in a Prayer book and try to know what is said and where you are, in the Prayer Book or the Bible scripture when they begin. The keeping it in Russian or Greek or another language, is just not needed any longer I do not feel? I think we must do it in both or do it only in the language spoken mostly in the country?? This is my feeling of being a convert myself. (Ours is a Seminary/Monastery/Church.) So they stand for most of the service, and really do it like it was at the beginning of time when they did not have the ability to seat so many, but can be hard for some people who are ill or cannot understand the language. ) Think it makes one feel not wanted maybe? But if they must travel far to find an English speaking Orthodox Church, they may not be able to do that either? 9 People seem weaker than earlier on?) BUT if one is in the language of the majority of people and enough seats for anyone needing them, think more will come? I do however think if it is the TRUE church we 'must keep all we can' as it was. Many churches broke off, (especially in 1054 Orthodox from Roman Catholic) Then Luther from Roman Catholic, and King Henry the 8th into Anglican from Roman Catholic too, and have taken fragments of the True church, but just not all of it. Many broke off after that too, of course. Taking what they 'want of it' with them. Keeping it a secret would not be good. It is a treasure, but yet meant to go to'' all who would accept Jesus and the True church of God! ' But feel all the churches do carry a part of the true church but not all of it. They are missing how the bishops were in the first churches and the elders or Priests and Deacons. Candles lit ( meaning is explained at churches if asked, and the incense-like prayers to God etc) Men need to play a big part not just in the church, but in the home in their Prayer Corners with their family!!! EVERY DAY with the FAMILY meeting in that Prayer Corner, and praying to our Lord and reading Psalms and maybe even singing? Sharing and talking about the day, and explaining what Jesus would say or do if the same thing happened in his time on earth? It all can being with family first and move out into this world. J Just how I see it all.

Carol this reasoning of yours will be your undoing both Protestants and Catholics evangelize. If you do not recruit people how will you be know . Staying true to the teachings of Christ will not affect anyone. The church of Christ is the church of Christ if it follows the Spirit of God. If it confesses the Holy Trinity, if it is in holy communion with the Heavenly Host and his holy angels without this things. God sent countless angels to the apostles many of them were trained by the Holy ones. Instructed by the Holy Spirit to master one of the seven gifts of the Divine Spirit or more. So Every Christian if he is holy and a saint should be like a Jedi having the supernatural gifts of God. I mean the occultist do this to us the reason we can be infiltrated by masons or cults is this. Human beings who think they can minister without the Holy Spirit or without one of God's holy angels are doomed to fail. I mean my spiritual brother my angel he tells me who is who. And he is right about most people this man is a sorcerer, this man is here to wreack havoc upon the church, this man is of God. Trust me without this you are doomed for failure. Also I approve of the Holy Art in the church but it is wrong to worship the icons. If you don't have angels serving your church Lumiel will infiltrate it and he will implement his bishops and his angels. So the one true church argument because of Nicean Creed fails big time. Ask any exorcist or anyone who understands the spirit world and the rules of engagement. You can be the oldest church on the planet but if you succumb to any of the worlds poisons you will fail. And eventually the spiritually awake people in your church will sense this. Idolatry caused Protestantism, apostasy, bitterness and much more. It is never about the number problem, but are you testing the people who attend the church are you testing the spirits of God with the Holy Bible. Do you care more about Aramaic (angelic) or Latin (Nephilim language) things such as this. Also man made dogma I see several good Bibles one of em being KJV 1611 400 anniversary. Or the Original scripture written in Aramaic this is the language of Adam and Eve and the Language Christ himself spoke. Political Dogma is a Heresy, adding or removing from the Word of God is not holy. What you think if you actually did not twist the original scripture we would have any debates who the real Christians are. I think not this Orthodox, Catholic or Protestant are pure garbage. There is sound doctrine and then there is falsehood sadly most churches nowadays are beyond repair due to their ignorance and failure to keep the decreese and laws of God. Your excuse is we are all humans, Jesus loves us, we are all sinners bo ho. Demons only respect the real believers not the fakes, or the accusers or the people who fall under one of the prideful principlities. Revaltions says to the churches not to the one and only church. A church if it is not Holy and Teachings heavens doctrine is not of God. Call yourself however you wish just remember if you were so sinless as you claim. Would you have schisms, but you are egocentric and unteachable. Staying in a dead church with a fake pastor or Bishop is extremely dangerous, and toxic for your spiritual well being because you will suffer spiritually.

While the Orthodox Churches and the Catholic Church remain separated from each other, the world will never believe Christianity. It is no good telling each other "You must agree with us and join us". Both sides, the East and the West, must achieve such humility that we come to accept each other in our entireties. We have so much to give each other and there is so much that we could give the world together. In the 1960s, the Catholic and Orthodox Churches mutually removed the ancient declarations of heresy and anathema from each other. We must join hands and walk together. Jesus prayed "... that they may all be one, as the Father and I are one ...". While we remain separate, we betray our blessed Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Not sure if you know this, but the Church has ALWAYS been administratively organized along political and geopolitical borders. The very word DIOCESE is a Roman Empire term for an administrative territory. The Church didn't create new dioceses, but used existing ones for administration. The issue isn't about the borders, but whether the Church (mainly in the Western World) can get beyond immigration and become the Church for people within her borders. In our local case, that means Tarpon Springs, Florida.

God does love you… but do you love Him back? The relationship is not a one way street, we are called to love God and follow him. When we do, church is not a burden, but a refuge and a sanctuary… it’s truly “home”. God definitely loves you and wants you to be with Him. But He doesn’t enter your life without your permission, He leaves the decision as to whether to join Him up to you. But receiving God’s grace does take more than being a “good person,” Christ is standing at the door and knocking and it is up to you to invite Him in. Also, when you say you are a good person, what is the standard you are using to determine that? An earthly standard or God’s standard? All of us are sinners… not “good” by any standard other than that of other sinners. God knows all of us better than we know ourselves, He knows our sinful natures, and loves us anyway… but that doesn’t mean He loves those sinful natures and wants us to retain them. Until we recognize our own sins and our need for Christ’s mercy, we will remain separated from God by our own choice. As you are watching this type of video, I believe you are at least curious or feeling some need to learn more; God is impressing this need on your heart…Christ is knocking. I truly hope that you will find the answers you are seeking and will pray for you to find these answers in Christ.

For one thing, Orthodox Christians don't have a pope. Also, they don't believe in purgatory. And Orthodox Christians practice only immersion baptism. Not sprinkling. These are a few differences. There's more. Look into it if you're interested.

Weren't the original Gospels first written down in Greek? All of Paul's letters were written Greek. Latin came later.

@@floridaman318 This Priest I was talking to claims the Catholic Church is the first true Church but it seems, since the original writings in the New Testament were in Greek, which had to later be translated to Latin, Greek would be the original language of the New Testament. It also doesn't seem like there were any early writings in both Hebrew and Aramaic, though perhaps later. It looks like the Greeks, or those that spoke and wrote Greek were the first to pick up on the stories about Jesus that were circulating and wrote them down. I really don't know much about the history of the Greek Orthodox churches. However, I do know that it is about the allegiance to the Pope, where there occurred what it is called the great schism, on Jul 16, 1054CE where Constantinople Michael Cerularius was excommunicated creating the Eastern Orthodox faiths. I am just curious about the actual history of the New Testament and the various Christian denominations, having grown up Catholic.

God bless you Father. As a Christian keeping fellowship in a Pentecostal church, I do believe in the mystic unity of the Church and the truth of orthodoxy. I believe that despite of denominational differences, we are one church, the undivided body of Christ. I pray that people unite in Christian love and work for the sake of Christ's kingdom.

We have to unite in the truth, brother. We can’t just pretend to be united when in doctrine we have a lot we disagree on. The biggest would be the Protestant rejection of sacraments. This rejection would amount to blasphemy

So I am scared to die. How can I have my sin washed away and be justified? Long attempt at proving your is the be all and end all of Christian churches and when do you answer that? Is it possible for people to be nominally Orthodox and not know Christ? Just asking some pretty basic questions. The people I speak with are not smart enough to be Orthodox. They are like me, simple straightforward.

Paul, many can know Christ at different "depths" just as we know each other at different depths. Knowing "who" Christ "is" is not the same as knowing Him personally. Even then, you can know Him and not love Him.

Yes, it is a walk like any marriage. God has allowed me to go through real suffering incredible isolation to show me He is not passionless. (I mean, passionless or indifferent in the sense of someone who does not care about us.) He tells us that He suffers with His people. To discover God hidden in the cross is such a wonderful truth to learn. The Father opened His heart and sent His own Son in the flesh to the cross, not because HE is a bad parent (which would seem logical) but because He loves us even as He loves His own Son!!! Thank you, heavenly Father! (Remember John 17:23). How can someone know such perfect love and not feel any love for Him in return? The danger for me is to not be simple enough, since I am concerned about issues like the current attempt at melding Christianity with witchcraft in certain denominations. I saw it with my own eyes. I was at an Anglican ordination a number of years ago where they referred to the Holy Spirit as "She". The logic seemed to be like in witchcraft with god-goddess sexual duality thing. The pastor at the church I went to at the time gave a wonderful sermon the next Sunday saying, "God is not an abstraction." And, "God is a community." The way my simple mind works is, if you want to worship a pagan goddess just join a coven since that is what they do. Isn't it amazing? Begin with denying that the Son eternally begotten of the Father is God. Move to the Spirit. And finally, we deny the deity of God Himself!!!! But if the Father who eternally generates the Son and breathes out the Spirit in this eternal love-relationship is not a real person ( (as so called revisionists would have us believe) then God is the ultimate liar. Since God Himself is supposedly not real person, that would mean we are not real people either since they created us in their own image. Then nothing is real and we end up with a society like ours. The connection is logical, and we cannot divorce the changes in our society from the changes in popular thinking about God, even if it was just vague. They still assumed God is not impersonal in the past, or just someone wearing masks and playing a cruel joke. But that is how the devil works. He is complicated and never says what he really means while Christ said, "Let your Yes be Yes and your No No. Anything more than this comes from the evil one." (Matthew 5:37) The way I see it is, God loves us the same way they love each other. Christ came from the Father's heart to the heart of our world and tore down the wall between us on the cross. He rose in victory and poured out the Spirit from the Father's heart into the heart of His Church to bring His followers together in one body so we could be one as He is one with the Father. The Christian God makes sense because He is not an abstraction and He is not isolated like the god of Islam. They made us in their image. Christ came to open that beautiful perfect relationship with the Father to us by tearing the wall of sin down on the cross and rising to pour their Spirit into our hearts so we could share in His relationship with the Father in the power of God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is Father-Son intimacy personified as far as I can tell. To be filled with Him sets us free to love as we share in God's own life of love in His power. This is something to celebrate and I am thankful for the way the Orthodox church is not ashamed of the holy Trinity. The holy Trinity is the Christian faith.

This is your answer, how u can be saved ? In bible Romans 10 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ⁹ That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

In REVELATIONS 1, Jesus is walking around 7 lamp stands, each representing his CHURCH. In his right hand were the 7 spirits or Angel's assigned to each of these 7 churches. In Chapters 2-5, he does an assessment of each of these 7 churches and let's them know where they are doing well and where they need to improve themselves. So why do CHRISTIANS spend sooooo much time in supremacy debates about which church is true and which church is false?🤔🤔🤔
