I relate to you so much! Building a KZread channel while working a full time job is no small feat. I personally went to school for graphic design but am now a software sales engineer and have a gigantic interest in wood working (though I am a beginner by every definition of the word). I stumbled across your channel and was drawn in so quickly, especially seeing your colorful mountain project. I love how authentic your videos feel and your courage to put yourself out there when this world can be so harsh. You are definitely inspiring me to get my butt off the couch and go work on projects of my own. Thank you :) P.S. I would absolutely love to see a day in the life video for you! Your work setup looks drool worthy

Ive been woodworking for two years now and I have to say that i make mistakes on every project. However, thats how you learn and improve. I rarely build anything a second time so every project is a "first". Its so rewarding when an idea comes to life through woodworking. Congratulations on 20k subscribers as i am now one as well.

Don't underestimate the ability to get a patreon going. Lots of would easily hop on a basic $1 or $2, even $5 level with no other expectations other than getting a (fairly?) regular output of content. Lots of us watch a lot of these as much for inspiration and ideas as for skill building. Go for it; I'm in.

Enjoy watching your vids… the fact that you aren’t a seasoned vet (yet 😉) with every tool possible, how you talk to us and that you share in your accomplishments and sometimes stuff that doesn’t work out, is so refreshing. I found out after years of having an office job that I enjoy working with wood, completing projects around the house; you give me inspiration and courage to try things I previously never would have… so thank you 🙏 and keep going. Thanks for sharing your background! Would be cool, if your dad is up for it, for you two to do a father-daughter project. My daughter is 5 and I hope that I’m able to inspire her to build and create things when she’s older.

An idea for channel members, I could draw for each category (bronze, silver and gold) an art or painting of yours, I know there must be people from all over the world and maybe dealing with shipping issues can be difficult, it's just an idea or digital sending (since you work with design) :)

Hi Elena. Love your channel! To answer your question about what entices people to join a patreon, for me personally, it's supporting content creators that I enjoy. I don't think I've ever joined a Patreon specifically to get rewards, but rather I want to help keep the creator I enjoy active, making content, and ideally sponsor/ad free as long as possible so I can enjoy the content without feeling like I'm being sold things. I think for a lot of people, simply having a way to help support you, and keep your channel alive and active, is reward enough. As for what rewards I do actually enjoy, while I've never joined a Patreon to get rewards, it's always nice when there a chance for some more interactivity. For low tiers, access to a private discord server where we can ask you questions, or just talk about whatever, and for higher tiers, quarterly or monthly livestreams where we can talk with you directly through chat. Hope that helps! If you make a Patreon, no matter what rewards you offer, you'll have at least one patron here!

Hi Elena, your points about woodworking being inspired by your dad resonated with me. I was lucky enough to have time with both my grandfathers, one of whom was a cabinetmaker & for a while ran a production wood turning section & the other was a mechanic mostly. My dad also picked up the woodworking side & involved me in whatever he could as I grew up. My daughters are teens now & eldest has designed & worked on a few projects for her room, whilst my younger has had design input but is not as inclined (yet) to be covered in wood glitter. 😊 One idea / approach that I have used a few times as getting more seriously into woodworking in the past few tears (in case helpful to anyone), if you have the scope to practice a technique before live use, do that. I’ve built drawers with different construction methods I then installed in shop or garage storage, for example, before tackling making drawers for kitchen cabinets. In other cases I’ve used off cuts to test cutting, planing, making joints or finish types for the next project. Practice helps me with both quality of end result & safety, as I work out what I can & can’t do.

That's awesome! I love when a skill/passion like that gets passed from generation to generation. It's similar with my family, both my grandfathers also had an interest in woodworking.
