I wish Mom would've done this when we were kids. Dad worked nights driving truck so we didn't have the luxury of time like Doug's family but even to read some scripture. She never really instilled the habit of reading the Bible daily in us kids, something I still struggle to get into a habit with. Even at Christmas we never sat and read the story of Jesus birth as a family unit or when Mom's entire family gathered which I always found strange. I really need to start this with my wife, soon.

The Lord bless you, sir! May I encourage you not to start "soon" but start today! As Pastor Doug suggests toward the end of this podcast, start with baby steps -- you and your family can grow into the practice together. Praising God right now for guiding you into this area of headship in your family.
