Short information :
Pythagoras' theorem is a mathematical relationship that states that in a right triangle (a triangle with one 90-degree angle), the square of the length of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. This relationship is often written as:

where a and b are the lengths of the two sides of the right triangle and c is the length of the hypotenuse.
Pythagoras' theorem can be used to find the length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle if the lengths of the other two sides are known. It can also be used to determine if a triangle is a right triangle, by checking whether the theorem is satisfied.
