PYROSAMM Making fireworks paper ball shells Japanese Style
Ойын-сауық
This is a fantastic movie showing the complete construction of the classic paper ball shell, only instead of being in China, you get a peek at how the Japanese do it. You get to see everything from star rolling to drying, then make the coated rice hulls, and fill the shell then close her up and complete the pasting phase, dont miss this one folks.

Look at the complete lack of giving a crap about placing the stars in the shell, hahahaha. Besides that, excellent.
That is so cool one of the things on my bucket list would just to watch them in person do this. I love the video though thanks for sharing
For gluing the fuses, you can use wheat paste and kraft paper, or the gummed tape that you paste the shell with (both effectively the same thing). If that is what you mean by gluing the quick fuse to the shell. You can use the gummed tape on the spollete as well. Just make sure to get enough layers on so you prevent pre-mature passfire. -Derekroolz or Aftertheaftershock on amateurpyro
Last scene life up powder bearl!💣💥😱
@jeffb8074 ya no kidding... if we didnt have people making fireworks this world just wouldnt be the same... cheers to all of the workers and hobiests that put a smile on everyones face
Verry cool vid, No breathing protection!!
i think itd take me 10 years to make that many stars!
Without lining the inside of the shell casing with stars vs just a handfull on the bottom, wont it just burst as a non symmetrical splatter effect?

Nobody here would even know that, they have been doing this for 100's of years and you question their method?
It makes me sick to see they don´t take time to properly arrange the stars, after such masterful production of the materials. Bet those shell could look better than they do.
@theevilgod They are most likely using kraft paper that has been coated with a paste. I would assume wheat paste. However, tests have shown that gummed paper tape can give better results that wheat pasted kraft paper, so they may use something different now. But they use long pieces so they paste rip past rip paste rip etc and it goes faster
Wow, I didn't know that 9 minutes and 51 seconds constituted a "movie" lol. And as another poster had said, that music was totally not fit for the subject matter. Did the original video have no audio, or something? Oh, but informative at any rate; I do like these firework manufacturing videos. I would presume these are professional-grade shells, and not consumer-grade, judging by their size.
Yeah if it explode u are definitely going to heaven..
Would you like to share the binder chemical recipe for the brilliant fireworks star black powder?
fantastic

Hello! I've some questions: How do they glue the fuses? You know, in that industrial scale they probably don't use hot glue heheh! My father-in-low worked in a fireworks factory for a log time, a long time ago, but he doens't remeber what glue was used to paste shells. Do you know what? I learned a lot with him, and if you wat to know something, I can ask him, or tell you by my self about what I learned. Later!
Toro! Toro! Toro!
What type of paper do they use for pasting? I've never seen someone paste a shell that fast...

You know what i am sayin?
I did a double take and had to replay that part of the video when i saw that. Im hoping they are going for an hour glass shaped brake... if not then thats a shame

This is very informative and very interesting to watch. I would like to say this one more time. OK so I understand that the Cost Factor and Money Factor are always in the forefront. Why not give Americans these jobs? Keep the fireworks companies in America our country???? As we know so so much is made in China and Japan. How about manufacturing these kind of display fireworks in the good old USA. Keep the jobs in our Country? I am sure that we could do a much better job and above all give our own people a job. Maybe some one would say they make better fireworks. Not true without comparison Americans could do better and be more proficient. Keep the jobs of fireworks manufacturing in our country. Give a lot of work to Americans and keep those jobs in America.
my dream to do this. No really i want to

Where is factory in Japan
Where's the talking?
great music track .
a laked Japón
That music
Sadly half of the idiots here are getting Chinese sweatshops confused with this Well paying Japanese factory. Btw guys, most of these workers love their job. Most of them will tell you that too. They'll state doing this is an artform.
I don't know if this was mentioned in the many responses, but any true shell builder would see so many flaws in the techniques that is really laughable. I didn't expect any manufacturer to actually show us their secrets. In principle, the video is almost correct. In real practice, you could follow this video and make some lets say, OK, shells. But to make some truly nice shells, do not use this video. Gain some experience, take notes, and go from there. Mark

Creepy morose music isn't helping OMG.
