Pyranha ReactR Whitewater Kayak | Our First Thoughts

In this video, our paddle specialist George talks you through Pyranha Kayak's latest release, the ReactR! It provides an overview and description of the key features, as well as who we believe the boat suits. The fully redeveloped Elite outfitting requires a deep dive and so this is covered in the appropriate level of detail in a separate video.

Nice review; particularly the emphasis on individual feel and the importance of demo-ing boats to see what's right for you. I recently did this with several boats. The specs recommended I padde a Large, but the Medium felt way better, I went with this and am very happy I did. Im glad i tried before buying.

Hi Dave I guess this relates to the Firecracker you mentioned? If so, we are seeing people down or upsizing to achieve what feel they want, style of paddling etc. For instance, at 72kg I'm always a medium paddler so preordered the 242. However, I want the boat to be highly dynamic and playful, so have been paddling the 232 demo boat on occasion. George

Hi George, it would be interesting to see the hull. With the modified shape, were potential high wear areas thickened up? Cheers, Ben

Great idea Ben. The V isn't so defined that you should have concerns about a high wear point. Of course, Pyranha mould in such a way that kayaks are variable thickness. High wear areas are thicker than protected one, so the hull has more plastic than the deck for instance. Drop me an email to snowboard@roho.co.uk if you would like to see some more detailed imagery. I managed to snap a few before our test boat was used. George
