MoP last season gearing was perfect to me. PvP gear in every slot was BiS, there was only 1 ilvl (no rating reqs), and was only gated by weekly conquest cap, which eventually allowed you to grind out the entire set via catchup cap. You level a toon, equip purples, have fun, level another. Plus the 2200 deep deep red super bright wep enchant is unquestionably the best enchant ever created

I’m probably the epitome of mid casual player I am a parent of two young children with a third on the way they have made making alts way easier, but I’m still a kind of one toon person. The only thing about the game that I don’t like is the seasonal reset for gear with everything that you have to do in an expansion just to get a full set of decent gear. Only to have to go through the entire process all over again in 4 to 6 weeks. I have been really interested in trying my hand at PVP, but that would only mean a second full set of gear that I would have to grind out every season. Kind of hoping they implement some system where in an expansion, you accumulate a full set of decent gear and you can just upgrade that set from season to season rather than having to put an entire set back together again, but don’t know maybe I’m speaking for vast minority being a parent takes up a lot of time and energy lol

The gearing system from MOP Remix is sweet minimal effort and very chill. When I first started it. I ran one string of dungeons. and have been wearing that gear all the way up through raiding just by slapping on gems and upgrading the piece of gear if they were to implement something like this, that would be sweet.

And I know that’s basically the gearing system that they have now in the game but instead of having the farm out gear because it was last season just up the item level requirements so you can just upgrade your current piece of gear and cut out with all the multiple currencies to do it and just release new gems to socket for that season

of course your side is valid but the whole point of the season resets and stuff is to give players who are bouncing around fully geared and bored something to do / look forward to come new season time.

I know theyd never do it, but i really wish PvP "gear" was like it is in Lost Ark. Everybody just gets the same amount of points to spend on whatever stats they want for a "pvp profile" So for instance, they give everyone the exact same main stat/stamina, then give 15000 points to spend between crit/haste/mastery/vers as you please for your spec. Then you can just wear ur PvE gear all the time and will automatically switch to pvp stats during pvp.

For starters, these are fantastic changes. However, unless I missed something, this doesn't entirely remove the friction between pve and pvp gearing. We still need to invest catalyst charges into pvp and pve gear. If they somehow separate the charges, I'd be a very happy camper.

Between this and the mythic + changes Im honestly speechless

Had an idea for bgs, think blizzard would create a system where there is pvp ilvl brackets? For example someone trying to grind out honor gear wont need to worry abt those who are extremely sweat and cleaning lobbys with fully geared characters cause they would be within there own “bracket”?

I do both PvP and pve do I need to choose where to spend my spark first? Cause this was time gated. If I craft item with PvP embellishment I am gonna fall behind at pve. Does this change is tww?

warband should be a group of 5 classes of our account working together and gathering all the recourses into 1 bank and 1 chest. like doenst matter what class you play , if it belongs to a warband the honor we do with that class should go into a special *chest* or *currency* that other class can use it if you dont pvp with it! instead paying 3k honor to buy a token that give you 2500 honor for alts! all in warband should be 100% plus resources

The increased drop chance on socket item should be increased for healers, making healing more attractive!

I always just make sure to do enough bgs and skirms when levelling. So i have honor cap at max level and can get honor gear instantly. Its so much less tilting that getting honor at max level

4:50 I could see not having sockets on honor gear being both good and bad. On one hand, it gives you an advantage/stay relevant in power as the season progresses. On the other hand, it gives you an even greater advantage if you have more time/farmed more honor. It is doubly bad if you're like me who won't be starting in the beginning of the season, so the disadvantage will be even greater than just having a way to have my sockets crafted or fighting pvpers with socketed conquest gear vs just having basic honor gear. To that end, I hope there will be an expedited honor/conquest catch-up system later on during the season.

Honestly the loss of the vault is incredibly disappointing. It was fun to share with friends who won the 'lottery' that week on what toons and the increases to conquest everyone seems to tout -as far as I can see - will still put us way behind gearing wise. I dont see how the weapon quest will offset much. I hope I am wrong. If I am not, it would be nice for a streamer we respect like you to fight the good fight. Pvpers continue to drop like a sack of hammers in WOW and I fear this will make it worse. Ive always looked forward to new expansions in WOW until TWW that is. Thanks for the consistent updates and keeping us in the know.

I'm wondering if the meta for pvp players are still a combination of pvp gear + high-end raid trinkets? I quit the game a few years back and considering coming back

my fav was back in pandaria. you had honor gear and conquest. with current system.. well i dont do ranked so everyone always ends up more geared then me and it sucks in world pvp even regular bgs.

I, for one, think what they did is great and looking forward to this "effort based" gearing. I understand where Supatease is coming from but I don't agree with him on this one with letting them only let us socket conquest gear and honor gear for the sole purpose that it is now encouraged to play pvp to get stronger in pvp. Don't forget that yes in previous expansions you could full gear in 1-2 hours for honor... Then what? Wait a couple of months until we're full conq gear? that's a big time gap with not "earning" gear and pushing it further. In a way, this change will seperate characters who are mains from the alts and you would see that by having those sockets and yes this will reward players who play more on a given alt or play more pvp. I think this system is very fair. Besides, first couple of weeks you would have all honor socketed and one conq which you can socket and week by week you will replace the honor with conq.

Im just hopping back into the game for the firs time since S1 of SL -- and jfc theres so muchn system, item, and currenct bloat. I feel like i have no idea what anything is.

I have a job. Time gated things kept me from worrying much about missing out on how much time I could put into the game. Now after I get off work I'm back to worrying about being 1 shot from some nerd who spent an entire week of arena without logging off.

There will still be a conquest cap each week so not sure what you mean? The only thing ppl can grind out it seems are sockets, which will also just come naturally through pvp. Someone having a few more sockets than you won't be the difference between winning or losing.

If they’re making everything cost honor they need to make it a reward for rated PvP. Add honor = to 1/2 the conquest reward for each activity so we aren’t stuck queing BGs week 3 for sockets

This might get downvoted a lot, but at least hear me out: I recognize that WoW is an MMO and that MMOs are all about progression, but I don't think you need to force a progression system onto arena specifically. Arena is a competitive PvP mode and should be about HOW WELL you play, not HOW OFTEN you play. A chess grandmaster doesn't get extra queens to start the game just because they played more, their skill speaks for itself.

Imo honor at the start is slow but you gonna end up with a lot of extra honor

These changes seem like a net positive. Time will tell but I'm cautiously optimistic. I especially like the honor transfer between warband chars.

My friends telling me Blizzard listened and there’s no BS Ion time sink systems slapped on top of the game anymore. Blizzard: “remember how sockets worked when they were introduced? LMAO us too. Unfortunately we need you to farm them now for our metrics.”

I wholeheartedly agree mate. PvP now is just who can heal the best that’s basically it. Matches last obsurd amounts of time because of a healer just infinite healing never losing mana etc etc it’s so bad. If TWW is the same I’m just gonna stick to classic servers man

Getting slumped in battlegrounds while your trying to farm your honor gear is just not a good experience. You have a mandatory amount of no fun time for that entire grind. Gear really shouldn't matter at all in pvp.

Seeing the M+ changes and this crafting crap just makes me lose all hope for any chance of PvP revamp....remember the dude in charge of PvP whom Venruki and others interviewed was a clueless legend. No doubt we got to read all this garbage... We need Honor/Conquest account wide and nothing to do with this crafting crap...moreover they need to completely revamp titles and achievements and seggregate Arena/Blitz/RBGs....last but not the least, they need to address the surplus sea of vicious saddles before anything else....
