Puzzles: Attacking the King - GM Varuzhan Akobian
Grandmaster Varuzhan Akobian presents the kids with several checkmating puzzles. You must find a combination to break through to the opponent's King. Tactics at play are identified, such as discovered checks and undermining (removing the defender).

At 10:35 instead of playing Rxf1 and Nxh2 can't you just play Nxh2 immediately? You threaten mate on f8 and if Qxh2 you can play Rxf7, Kxf7 and Qxh2.

+Josh Landgraf White can play Be2 to save his Bishop. Black still plays Rf1+ to take the Queen but you don't win the bishop in this scenario

+Happy. Mike Kummer is a lesser lecture and Ben likes to have fun and make fun of others. Its double edged like the play in some professional chess games. ;)
