Something to mention about Doppelganger Schezo's Box appearance - Doppelganger Arle actually REVIVED HIM USING NECROMANCY.

Useless fact: Arle's doppelganger from Puyo Puyo N is actually the REAL Arle, after Madō Monogatari for Sega Saturn she killed a one god that tried to take over the world, and accidentally destroyed some universes including Madou world, so Lucifer... I mean Satan... I mean Dark prince made a copy of it, but he didn't know that Arle was still alive in an endless void for years, and became crazy since she was alone for a loooong time, then Puyo Puyo Sun happend.

It was an intented backstory. But they never truly went through with it. Even with Compile's run. I would've brought it up, but I declined.

This was the intention of the director of the gameboy version, who also supervised a few other games. It was never intended lore by Compile or any other higher ups.

This was pretty informative. I enjoyed this a lot.

So I've noticed that Amitie never got a doppelganger. Is she too powerful to be doppeled, or do her friends really care about her that much that they go out of their way to make sure there aren't any Amitie doppelgangers?

Nah, she's just (un)lucky. Even if she got Doppel'd most of the Doppels with origins we know of happened by accident or are out of everyone's hands.

I mean, it's heavily implied that Amitie is a fragmented reincarnation of a goddess, so if said goddess ever appeared, I guess we'd have a Doppelganger for her??

​@@Nenilein It always hits me out of nowhere when people pull out that bit of trivia. I'd be lying if I said I was a fan of it. It's a cheap way to make Amitie special to me. Like, making a character a god just fundementally makes people think different about somebody, that goes for in-universe and out-universe. And that thinking differently part usually undervalues the actual character that character has. It's like how people make Jesus allegories about Superman because he has god-like strength, who doesn't comprehend the people he's been living with all his life. When in reality he's a good natured down to earth lad with the power to help someone. Likewise, attributing Amitie to be goddess-like I feel kinda undermines she's a dunce school kid with higher ambitions then she has the patience for to achieve. In Amitie's case it isn't impossible to combine them y'know. Amitie's still a dunce and part goddess that's dormant in her. But for my tastes, I don't know, part of the appeal to me with the Primp kids is that they are surprisingly real feeling. And as if to prove my own point to myself, if I put the word "Goddess" underneath a picture of Amitie it would fundamentally make me think different about her, and not in a good way for me at least, I lose interest in Amitie. TL;DR on my feeling on the matter: You don't need to make Amitie part diety to make her special. She was already was. Hearing she is/was just a fragment of a goddess does lessen the blow.

@@kirbyvskirby oh, absolutely. Amitie is great just the way she is. The way I tend to think about it is that this might be the reason she can't control her magic right, which adds to her struggles for me-

@@Nenilein That's a fun way to look at it. Also perhaps a fun way to look at it that her ever changing spells are her being scatterbrained. She never sticks with anyone spell (except Flame and Bayoen) to get good at any of them. (Though that's hardly unuiqe to her. Spell change all the time, the Fever cast's especially.)

This is very much a rumor that could very well be false, but I've heard that Doppelganger Arle was originally going to be half of Arle's own soul, after it was shattered in her battle with The Creator in the Shin Madou Monogatari timeline. However, this ultimately ended up not being the case, and instead Doppelganger Arle was just some sealed evil in Satan's castle that he didn't know about (Though given Satan's otherwise relatively all-knowing nature, that's still extremely concerning) Also, after her defeat, Doppelganger Arle apparently ended up in some alternate reality or something in a Drama CD, and is briefly seen when Ecolo takes a few characters into said dimension.

I intentionally left that out in favor of how she's portrayed in (Console) Puyo Puyo~n and Quest only. All of that is true, sorta. I get confused by it sometimes but being the half of Arle's soul was actually considered for Pocket Puyo Puyo~n which came out a year later to its console counterpart. You can still see shades of that plot in the final product. I don't think it's in the actual timeline. And if it did happen in Pocket Puyo~n I doubt anyone would consider that canon over the console game. That Drama CD one is true as far as I'm aware, but I haven't seen it myself so Iunno. Search "Puyo Puyo Lore Q&A" on my channel. It goes into the confusion that surrounds Doppel.

Pretty good video!! I would only complain because of all the Ecolo slander/hj Like come on, yes, he's a brat, but he's gotten better!!! ...Mostly lol. (He didn't even know what the Pendant of Loowa would do, he just dumped it on Ally because planting cursed jewelry on someone in Satan’s LARPing session seemed like a fun idea at the time-)

Hear me out, this sounds wild but what if it's that Ecolo doesn't have a doppelganger, but IS a doppelganger. Hypothetically speaking a powerful godlike wizard with the ability to *perfectly imitate* things he saw, he existed perhaps in partnership with Marle and had to banish the darkness within them as with a powerful host and magic it became sentient and the mage wasn't comfortable with this and needed to be removed. This darkness perhaps became Ecolo? And we see Ecolo with the spells: Liar(Fireball), Swindle(Cosine), Fake speech(Ice Storm), Lovely Trick(Fairy Fair). Imitation is the only one we can't trace back to someone because Imitation belongs to the mystery mage! How's that for a theory?

Powered Up runs really well in ppssspp. But do hunt down a save file on the internet if you ever wanna play as Roll. He's not a doppelganger. In order to be a doppelganger he needs to have completely separate body from Klug while still looking like Klug. He doesn't have that.
