I grew up eating deer meat and I love it just as much today. I am so thankful Austin harvested a Doe and we were able to preserve the meat. As always, thanks for watching, drop us a comment & God bless you!

Austin knows how to harvest deer, and he knows how to buy a good truck and he knows how to find a good wife😊

Amen!! Agree wholeheartedly 😊
Man I gotta tell this story and I swear to God it is true. A few years back I got a friend of mine a pressure cooker like this and he came over to our house to get it and wanted to test it out. I got him out a few packs of venison and asked him to do it out front of the house. We lived in a small town at the time and after a while the cops showed up. They said a neighbor called them saying someone was cooking meth right outside our house. I couldn't believe they did that because you could smell the meat everywhere out there. The coos laughed when they seen what it was all about.

That's like some of the people around here would do lol I think sometimes they just want to watch the excitement go down or they just secretly want to cause a little trouble for you. Just depends 😊 Great story 😂

I love that you and Austin are carrying on traditions. So many young people are just not interested these days. They will be clueless if they are ever faced with survival for themselves. Y’all are Awesome!!
I love how good y'all are to each other (Corie & Austin). That's the main thing I'm reflecting on in this video. LOVE THAT, so wise, so good to treat each other so sweetly. 🙌🏼 💞
Congratulations Austin! I'm glad you two enjoy a lot of the same traditions and hobbies. It is nice, Corie, to be able to put food up for your family, isn't it? I know I am tired after a day of food prep, but so very satisfied and overwhelmed with gratitude to our God Who provides!
Never had deer meat, but it looks good! I love how close your family is (including Olive); so sweet! God bless y’all!
You are such a Close Family and I Wish I Could say the same.
Austin is such a great sport!😊
Austin is a very blessed man. All the best to you, Austin, Katie and your family!!
Thank you Austin and Corie Congratulations Austin on your first doe of of the season . Stay safe yous guys
Thanks for the video! We canned 48 pints of venison last year also some chunked up goose breast. That way we'd have enough to eat a jar every week until the next season. We ran out in July 😂
Corie nothing wrong having breakfast for supper it seems like Austin is easy please that's one good thing deer meat is supper delicious 😋 God bless you Corie and Austin and your family 🙏
🎉Congratulations Austin on that deer so early in the season!!
Hello! Corie,Austin , it’s so wonderful how Lord provided us! Thank so much for sharing how your meat up. Have a blessed night Jan Sarlo😊
Congrats, Austin, on bagging the deer!🦌When we're processing the meat, we do the same as ya'll . It's time-consuming, getting that silver stuff off, but the meat is so much better. Never have canned it before.
I raised my kids on deer meat and they now range in age from 35 to 43 and it is still their favorite. Too many people don't know how to care for it after harvesting, so some people think it's gamey...which it is if you don't dress it and get it cooled down as soon as possible. Congrats to Austin! Hope God grants me the physical strength to get out and hunt some this year....love to have the freezer filled.
I grew up & still live in a very urban family & city (all in the way in Canada!) so I never got the chance to harvest and hunt for meat the way you guys are able to! It's such a special process, and I'm sure that it's such a treat. I vicariously live through these videos, I love learning about Appalachian traditions and ways of life through your & your mom's channel. God bless you girls!!! ❤

Awe! 🪶
We love to can deer meat too. We love to put one slice of bacon on top of the meat in each jar before putting the seal on and the ring. Oh my goodness! That one slice of bacon in each jar makes it amazing to taste! When we are ready to eat it, we dump the jar in a pot with a can of cream of mushroom soup with no water. The juices from the canned deer meat mixed in with the can of cream of mushroom soup makes its own gravy in the deer stew! Amazing over rice! It’s so good! My husband just celebrated his 45 th deer season! Today is his birthday! He’s 57! So blessed!
Living off of the land is a beautiful thing❤ plus it’s so smart financially. If lean times are ahead you’ll be doing just fine !
My daddy used to tell me they used bacon grease on toast back in the depression when they didn’t have butter. Gotta love breakfast dinner! ❤🎉
Hi Corie wishing you & your family many blessings 🙌 Thanks for sharing
I love breakfast for dinner. That's when I make biscuits and gravy because I don't eat in morning.
Congratulations Austin! Happy thanksgiving 🦃 everyone from your friends in 🇨🇦 🎃🍾🥂
Congratulations Austin! In my family that's a time of celebration! You have the same canning funnel that I do! Mama gave it to me and she had it from the 1940's.
Thanks Folks. Never tried deer, must do some day. My paternal Nan had and said it had a "gamey' taste. They never canned their meats. Back then, on a sheep station, while fresh, it was usually that awful greasy Mutton.
My Grandpa would hunt deer and rabbits and would fill a big freezer for the whole family.Great memories...thanks for sharing 😎😁😁
Great video Corie. Watching this part of the process was fascinating. Good seeing Katie, Matt, and Olive. Katie, you're looking lovely. 👌
Congratulations on 50k. I have been helping you to get there. Love you Girls

Love this video you two! Y'all are amazing. If I am able to hunt and harvest a doe next season I'm trying the canning, I promise. I have two things to say, Olive is precious, and Austin, you are a very blessed man to have Corie. God bless you guys.
I love y’all processing a deer together.😍that’s a good man you found, Corrie, but I know you know that. Country boy can survive🎶🎶🎶

Thanks for taking us along! ❤ Would you consider doing some videos on deer burger recipes? 😊 (I love it in tacos!)
Deer season opens here Saturday. I usually grind most of it with beef tallow. Tacos, chili, spaghetti sauce, minestrone, anything you would use ground beef. I seldom eat beef and when I do now it tastes strong.
It's been a long time since I've had venison. I love it. Thanks for sharing.
You kids did a very good job on the deer meat… Years ago I did canning with my moma ,and I cherish my time with her…🥰
Never even had a bite of deer meat in my life. I do have some eating my plants, so you can come and get them if you want LOL.
Bacon: the candy of meat!
I will start this off by saying I'm an old man. So when I say how beautiful this young lady is, her husband won't get jealous. I could just sit and listen to her talk. The honesty and sincerity In her voice is a blessing. And as a man talking to another man, I will say to your husband to CHERISH THIS LADY LIKE GOLD ! This one is special.

I just love seeing the love you all have for each other! ❤ I did think you might use pint jars since it’s just the two of you. A good rule of thumb is pints hold one pound of meat and quarts hold two pounds.
We love you, Katie!
Like I have always said that I don't have an issue with hunters are long as you eat the meat the animal provides and it is killed with as little pain as possible........I still think you two should adopt some kids......You would make awesome parents.
I have done this so many times, my husband was always an avid deer hunter, we always had deer in the freezer. It is a lot of work but worth it. I agree the back strap is my fav! We also made a LOT of deer jerky, delicious! This brings back sweet memories for me, I lost my husband in 2020, and I actually haven't eaten deer since then.

I can hardly wait for deer season. My husband, son and some of my grandsons hunt. I just started pressure canning about 8 months ago and instead of freezing all the meat, I’ll be canning it. So far, I have lots of chicken breast, chicken on the bone, ground beef, rabbit, rabbit stew, deer stew, beef stew and all kinds of beans with ham. Great video.

That’s awesome!
I have always ground my bucks up, they are always tougher and gamey so i make alot of sausage with them, i hunt alot of hogs here in southeast Oklahoma along the red river so i use wild hog fat for our sausage i also have wild sage around my house which tastes better than store bought, makes awesome sausage gravy for breakfast.
I love y'all so!!! Katie God's got you, and you will be an amazing momma!!! Oh Cori, I just love your pup, Olive!!! I have an APBT just as silly as she is. They are a very different breed for sure! She is adorable!!!!! Love y'all ❤️ prayers always 🙏 ❤
Up in Taxachusetts, you need a doe permit. They only issue a specific amount of doe permits each year.
My first pressure cooker i didn't let the pressure out right and the lid blew off and the entire dinner was on the ceiling. I cried so much and threw that pot in the trash. 30yrs later It's called an instapot and now i cant live with out it. Hi from lutz Florida USA

This was a really great video, Corie. Congratulations on getting that doe, Austin. The meat is really pretty. Katie’s bump is so cute. I can’t wait til that bundle of precious joy gets here. Y’all have a wonderful weekend. Hugs from the southeast coast of Florida. 😎🦩🌞🦩😎
Great to see you katie..your tastes will be changing with the baby..as does your sickness ❤hoping you have been free from that horrible morning sickness ..great to see u all together ❤️ much love n prayers your way bron from Australia 🇦🇺 🙏
Nothing like deer meat. I'd take that over beef any day. I cook the scraps for my cats and they love it also. Have a blessed day.
Gongratulations Austin , great job on harvesting some wonderful bounty for yourself and your family. GODBLESS and continued safety while in the woods hunting may our LORD be with you always .AMEN .😊 🙏. Looks delicious 😋
I live in South GA, and have MULTIPLE deer in my yard, from buck to doe🦌 My neighbor had 🐊 in her yard yesterday Send Austin to my house🐾🦊🐺
It is amazing how much liquid is formed through the pressure canning process. I was surprised to see that you did not add liquid before canning. I am hoping my husband gets a deer this year, because I want to try canning some of it! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy!
Processing your own meat is getting to be a lost art. Good for you guys. We have a cabelas jerky slicer we run most of the roasts through while caning the rest except the backstraps and bottom round. Junk gets canned for dog food.
The sound of Austin sharpening the knife made me think of my dad especially during the holidays when he would sharpen his knife before he carved a turkey. Ibalways watched him so intently. Good memories. ❤
Just something for you to try. If you crumple that paper up and then open it up and put it on your cookie sheet works a lot easier.
I'd love a video on how to make Miss Cindy's bread please, and a link to the knife and sharpener you used to get rid of the fascia.
This is just awesome! Austin, nice job getting your deer so early. Good start to what I hope is a very successful season! Corie, it's great that you want to carry on the tradition that your family has made, by harvesting and processing your food. Your parents are excellent teachers, and you are so wise to continue to learn from them. Continued prayers for Granny. Peace be with you. 💚
Corie I remember that you unpacked your cast iron pan at the beach! 😊 If that isn't proof of a true Appalachian Woman, nothing is 😂

Yummylicious!
Team Work!!! Great Job 🎉
Good job Austin! No wonder you guys look so healthy. You're harvesting most of your food rather than buying it full of preservatives. Good way to live. God bless you all.
Y’all are so sweet! ❤
Beautiful. 👍 What a great feeling having your 'store' in for the Winter. Good for you both! 👍
Congratulations Austin on a successful hunt! May this be the trend throughout this hunting season. I grew up on deer meat as Dad was an avid and successful hunter, so I can almost smell and taste what you two have preserved. YUM!!! Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you both and the rest of the family. Praying that your grandma is still doing well Corie.
OMG you guys got a deer... Awwwww. Happy for you ! Austin is so lucky to have you...and I'm sure you feel the same way about him.... Happy deer season... Olive under the table is so funny... hahahaha..she's just waiting for the possible food dropping from the table. Sweet doggy !

I love breakfast for dinner! When I was growing up, we had it quite often: Mom would scramble eggs, Dad would cook up sausage patties or sometimes even links, and fry bacon, and the drippings from those would be used to make gravy. A big ol' tower of toast completed our feast. Us kids all thought of it as a treat, but when Mom passed and we were all sitting around reminiscing, one of us remembered that breakfast for dinner would always happen near the end of the month, and it dawned on us that it was because there was barely any dinner food left and precious little money to go buy more till Dad would get paid on the 1st!
Corie, you got yourself a good man. All the best to you both! I had deer meat ages ago and it was so good!❤
Unless it is elsewhere, I would like to hear more about Austin, his background, and family. Think u said u met on the Net. Unusual to find a good, laid back man on the Net.❤
Thank y’all for sharing this. Looking forward to trying this here in middle Tennessee.
Great job. Hope you get as many deer as allowed Austin.❤
Absolutely and awesome video ! Thanks for sharing! :-)
Thank you for another great video! It is so nice to see all of the work that goes into this, and everyone working together 🙂 Congratulations on the deer, Austin!

So glad you got to put some up. I’ve never had canned venison. As a kid dad would freeze a bunch of his harvested deer and drop some off to have sausage and jerky made.
Enjoyed the video. Love videos with Austin and the family. You all are so sweet. ❤❤
Congratulations! That will be delicious.
Oh wow, my Dad used to cook the best deer stew. My husband doesn't hunt, so we miss out on that good eating. Corey, we also like breakfast for supper.
What a blessing for y’all. 😊❤😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The breakfast with the homemade bread looked delicious. Great harvest of deer meat! Blessings...
So glad the "Chipmunks" contributed their voices.😂
How do you save the bacon grease when you bake it?🤔 I've never seen it cooked that way. My Mom did it in the microwave, but she didn't usually save the grease,, but when I moved to Texas then Tennessee I learned "no self-respectin' southern girl would be caught dead without a baco grrease jar/can in the fridge 😂🤣😂

Congratulations Austin on getting a deer and having such a loving wife. The only thing I do different when canning is I don’t put salt in the jar because I have hypertension and you can always salt to taste when you eat it. God bless you both.
We canned a bunch of beef and deer meat this past February. We get a half a beef every year, so what we didn't eat from the year before we can it. Canned meat lasts longer and doesn't freezer burn. Canned meat is so tender and doesn't take long to prepare for a meal. Glad Austin was able to harvest a deer and I hope he gets a few more. Love the clip of your lunch with family and your breakfast supper. Thanks again for sharing.
Good morning from Syracuse NY everyone thank you for sharing your adventures in life
We put up5 or 6 dear a year we put it up the same way that you do I have videos of me debone 4 at a time we ground a lot of burger and caned a lot to . I don’t hunt now since my wife passed it’s just me at home and my leges are bad I think the deer know it because the walk around in the yard while I mow the grass but it was fun all the years I did hunt . I really enjoyed your video of you two team working .♥️

I just started canning meats about 2 years ago and I *love* it. I just opened a jar of ground beef to make my pot of soup for this week and tossed all the other ingredients in the pot. And making homemade beef stroganoff with beef you have processed yourself - and it takes 20 minutes - priceless.
Austin is so GREAT ! I love the thought of you two . God Bless you both
That was neat to share, thanks. -much love from NJ ~Mary & fam
I used to make venison stew with potatoes onions and carrots celery. Miss having venison .
We freeze our deer meat mostly ground, tenderloin/back strap and cube steak. The boys love jerky too. We go through 2-3 a year. I can’t wait to try your dad’s ham recipe. We’ve never kept one but plan to this year just to try it. We also garden and put up vegetables. It’s how we both grew up. Our family tradition is to keep the tenderloin of the first deer harvested each year to cook on Christmas morning with our breakfast. Thanks for sharing.
So glad you all got a deer already!
Corie I fry bacon slowly in a deep pot like a Dutch oven. It doesn’t splatter everywhere and makes for easy clean up. By all means save your bacon grease. That stuff is like gold for seasoning.
