Putting Real Griptape on a Fingerboard!?! - Unofficial Episode 10

In this episode you'll see me putting real griptape on the new Performance Series from Tech Deck! These wooden fingerboards are REALLY nice and skate well! Adding the real griptape to it adds to it! What I used to do was I would go to my local skate shop and ask if they had left over scraps from gripping boards and I would grip my fingerboard with it. Hope this helps someone out! I actually preferred real grip over foam grip for a long time, it performs well just rough on the hands.

Yo I love this idea! Plus it’s great advice for anyone who’s fingerboarding on a budget! All that FB stuff gets super expensive! Plus all those griptape scraps just get pitched anyways! Thanks for the comment bud! ✌🏻

I use Mob grip even though it eats my fingers lmao though recently I started using a different kind of foam tape that’s pretty decent!

No there’s definitely a lot of fingerboarders who will use real griptape on their fingerboards! I even heard of a FB company that makes softer griptape specifically for fingerboards!

@@GoodBlessingsSkateboarding I’ve never tried it it’s quite expensive, for a kid in intermediate. I rely want it though, I’ll keep looking for it
Uhm any ideas on how to put griptape from tech dech on the board because my came with it off and it doesn't say how to put it on

I know what you mean. Some tech decks come with special griptape with graphics on them that you have to apply yourself. The piece of griptape is like a sticker. You peel the white back off and line it up with one of the tails + the screws. Start at one end to make sure it’s straight

Generally with fingerboarding it doesn’t really matter. Some reasons I like to know the difference between the nose and the tail is because on many Fingerboards and skateboards they are slightly different. Usually the tail is more rounded, but not always! It also might just be a aesthetic or style thing. I put a cut in my griptape cause it can improve the pop of the board

@@funkywunkyy I think it does! I feel like whenever I pop a trick my finger gets a little more flick whenever it hits the cut in the grip
