Just got mine today April 24, 2024! Thinking about all my family ancestors who were diabetic and did not have this available to them! Amazing Tech.!
I love the G7 and its not hard to apply. But trying to put the adhesive ring over the sensor (which he conveniently left out of the video) is NOT FUN without another person's help. The material is too flexible and the adhesive so strong that trying to separate the patch from the template causes you to end up with a messed up ball. They must know this as they do NOT offer free replacement patches like they did for the G6!

Personally I’ve only used the overpatch once and that was after I out the g7 on my abdomen, so it was easy with two hands. The g7 is approved for abdomen in Europe and I like it there. But the g7 has stayed on my all 10 days every time without the overlay. This may change during the summer when I go swimming and it’s humid out.

I started with the G7 today, I messed up the overlay and contacted Dexcom to get more overlays, only to find out they don’t supply extras. I ordered some from Amazon, in the meantime I put a large band aide over the sensor. i will definitely need my husband to help with the overlay.

I put mine on the back of my arm, and had no trouble putting the overlay on
I love how we had the same reaction, this stuff is truly exciting and makes life a little easier
It was exciting to watch you press the button and have it actually work and install. My 93 year-old mother has been using (trying to use) the Dexcon G7 for the last month, and the failure rate is INCREDIBLE. Two failed and were replaced by Dexcom. BOTH of those failed (one had false low blood sugar alerts, almost 100 points off from the finger stick reading, and the other the button wouldn’t depress, seemed to be jammed.) I just renewed the Rx and got 3 more: the next 2 also failed! Couldn’t install the sensor; the buttons were inoperable! What a scam! So frustrating!
Just switched my sons, and we absolutely love it!!!
I just got news I’m getting the g7!
Just got my g7 order and am very excited to switch over after I use up all my g6 supplies. Really excited to no longer have a separate transmitter. One less thing to worry about.

just got mine yesterday. love it. super accurate after the few hours of adjusting, but i stuck it on my stomach cuz i like sleeping on my arms too much.

@DEGS1010

@robdub9680 I've been using it on my stomach thevwhole time. My doctor says it's OK to use it there. The readings are accurate. But, if I do have lows and don't feel shaky, then I check with my Glucometer to be sure it's a real low. 99% of the time it's accurate. Hope this helps! 😊
I’m getting my own Dexcom g7 soon! I was just diagnosed with diabetes around 1-2 weeks ago and was hospitalized because of my A1C lol
Loving mine currently while I take care of my gestational diabetes. Loving this technology!!
I absolutely agree it’s better than the g6 it doesn’t usually bleed or hurt when applied properly and it last 10 days tracks my blood sugar and to be honest the g7 was the very first dexcom I put 2 months ago and I know how the g6 works because of videos and I would absolutely recommend g7
I love the G7…but since I got put on the Omnipod 5 I had to go back to the G6. I’m waiting for the G7 to be compatible with the Omnipod 5. I like Dexcom…but the G7 is the most accurate for me so far.
Finally getting mine soon. That's awesome.
g7 has been ok with me so far; a few days now. I had to calibrate it several times with my actual blood sugar results from my standard device/finger prick. I love the idea that I can pull a report, I can log in meal stuff right into the device!
It seem like most insurance companies over the cost depending how your provider writes the authorization, I paid $16 for 3 sensors🙏🏾
30 minute warmup??? That’s great!
@diabe_tech

So good. You can overlap them and have ZERO warmup ;)
I finish my 1st month of the G7 today. Works good.
I’m fairly new to the Dex 7 so far so good but I see that it’s making me a bit lazy not wanting to check numbers with the meter and have to find another spot where I’m not applying unnecessary pressure to the sensor.
You also have a grace period of 30mins. So you don’t have to take off your older one. Simply stick it on and wait the 30mins that way you still get readings from the older one and once the 30mins are up the other one is ready and you don’t have to miss your readings.

What if you’re pressing the button and it nothing is doing nothing is happening. There is a little piece of tape that covers the lid and the actual device so I cut it off and then I unscrewed the top and put alcohol on my stomach to clean it, Dexcom G7 I want to put it and I’m pushing the button and nothing is happening.
Strongly suggest you apply it to your abdomen. Your readings will be much more accurate. I have been on the G7 for about a month now. I had bout a 20 point difference between my left and right arm. My endo said that is fairly common and suggested I apply it to my abdomen.

I have a 10-pt difference between arms, and a 10 to 20+ -pt difference between arms and abdomen. The abdomen also tends to get crunched more often, no pun intended 😄 I found the upper arm readings more closely reflect my a1c
Love the enthusiasm but let’s talk about cost….deductible, copay or whatever! This may be easier than pricking your finger, but is it affordable for EVERYONE?!

How often do you have to calibrate? And with what reading do you enter, fasting?
Qué bueno que sirva para su salud
Still big, but does it at least update by the minute now like Libre 3?
I bought a few to try. The poor adhesive really is a downfall. The filament is much more comfortable than libre however
My first 2 I accidently knocked them out off . One came off in bed the other one i was going around a corner and it snagged it off. I'm not a fan. My G6 never came off. So I'm out all this money .
I just got mine!
My phone and sensor matches but not with the glucose monitor/finger prick. Any suggestions ❤
For a non-diabetic: can anyone explain me what the Dexcom is and is it your basal insulin? Or how does this work?
@kermitdafrog7053
Жыл бұрын
Non-diabetic here with some knowledge of diabetes:A deacon is something that tracks your blood sugar and is a cgm(constant glucose monitor) it tells you if you are high or low. It is not an insulin pump but tells you when you need to give yourself insulin
@diabe_tech
Жыл бұрын
Great answer! Plus, the Dexcom can work alongside some pumps and automate the insulin delivery - this is called a Closed loop system or Automated Insulin Delivery system (AID)

My app is asking for the TRANSMITTER SN. Where can can I find this?? I only have my iPhone and the sensor… the sensor has a 4 digit SN, but the app expects a 6 digit TRANSMITTER SN. Loosing my mind over here. 🤯📈 Thanks 🙏🏼

I wish CGM for Medtronics 780g mini pump was that easy … and not 2 hrs warm up 😢
Wait... My stuff is still on order so I haven't used it yet. Isn't there supposed to be a cover that goes over the sensor?
Wait, does it still loop in with the T-slim??? Sorry stupid question
My son has it💙
Wish it worked with the omnipod
Can you place the the G7 anywhere besides the back of the arms? I recently and accidentally ripped a dexcom g7 off and I’m so afraid I’ll do it again just not paying attention
How often do you need to change it ?
Will they come to Malaysia?? :(
Is there any pain difference from the g6?
That’s the same reaction I had
The receiver app doesn't even pop up in my play store. Smh
I getting my tomorrow is that easy to do it
How long does it last before you need a new one? 🤔
Ok it's G7 I'm happy for you but it's a cgm is it the time you don't have to wait for results, or that it works with the omni pod well anyway congrates I think
G7 is for what? Only for type 2 diabetes or could also use with type 1 , my mom is insulin dependent so is it ok for her to use?
@dwightl5863

Definitely for type 1. I consider it a must have.
I have found that the G7 is less accurate than the G6, especially for the first two days after inserting. For example, the G7 showed glucose of 50, and a finger stick was 103.

I like Freestyle Libre 3! 14 days and share data with doctor a family member. But wait for it! Found out my insurance pay for Dexcom G7. Wait! They will pay for my Freestyle if my doctor will send the information of why I need the Freestyle. If my insurance like the answer, then an approval will go through. The Dexcom looks pretty cool! It's only for 10 days.

What is the G7 for?
@xPrincess420x
11 ай бұрын
It’s a continuous glucose monitor! So instead of needing to finger prick a bunch of times a day, the dexcom g7 will send readings to your smart phone every 5 mins! The only time you need to finger prick is when your numbers on your dexcom don’t match your symptoms, or it says low (you should check your blood glucose when it says low because the dexcom doesn’t read your blood, it reads the fluid which is slightly behind your blood glucose, so there’s a small delay sometimes) you basically check to make sure it’s low before you treat the low. I hope this helps! ❤
Takes 2 days to get more accurate
