This specific car is DEFINTELY one of those cars that looks soooo much better in person!! I really thought that I hated the look of this car UNTIL I saw an all-black Sonata with tinted windows yesterday and I was even more attracted to this car. Because the big fish mouth grill is so dominant on this car, the color of the exterior DOES make a difference!! This car looks so rich and premium in black. I also like this car in the hampton grey as well. But all blacked...🔥🔥🔥🔥

I started out with the option of the i8 BMW as my first choice and I hated the thing driving it it felt like a toaster melted into the front engine but the doors were cool and all of that. I’m not completely sold on the rear end but I will say Hyundai (and Kia for that matter) are putting up a hell of a fight against most of the “near luxury” brands and even some of the lower trim level luxury brands. Great job dude!

@@TheChicag0an Yes? Any updates? I'm hearing the new hyundai sonata's just randomly turning off while driving? Lags in acceleration, Engines lights coming on after 20,000-60,000 miles.? Yet people who have had these problems have yet to receive help from hyundai with these issues. Warranties? Never cover what breaks. I know the engine was changed from the recent engines that were just recalled. Curious how people feel about "hyundai" in general? In the search of a new car and thought sonata was it. Now hesitant, as they may have the tech but not engine reliability?
*The grill is fire! but the light with the chrome strips.... SLOW CLAP! Bravo Hyundai! you did well!*

I’ve owned the 2020 Limited for 2 weeks and its my first Hyundai. Prior vehicle Infiniti M35 which is a great vehicle. The Hyundai Stormy Sea exterior with black leather interior is well laid out. The handling is well balanced. In the Sport mode there is no lag. The low 1500 RPM tork is fine for daily driving. Breaking in this vehicle is, in a word...fun. The tech features on this car are a step above its immediate competition. Nice review.
well done - love the look... I'm still up in the air about the nose... love the BSM system with the camera view to change lanes.
I think the best part about this car is the sound it makes when you close the door. I had to keep replaying it over and over.

So its a few years later and as it turns out you have really grown into an amazing car reviewer. Youve dominated the KZread shorts for car content and we love your in-depth reviews. Im fortunate to have a 2023 sonata n-line and watching your review of the sonata limited when it first got the redesign is really cool. the 2023 is the last of its generation before the 2024 redesign. Id be curious to see if you would review the 24' sonata n line even if it would just be a youtube short. Take care!

Appreciate the night view. So many reviewers don't show the car in the dark whether the interior or exterior.
MY Genesis is Hyundai 2015 3.8 AWD and I still love it. almost paid off and they replaced the engine at 62k miles (always by extended warranty) with an engine of 16k miles. so I'm running my mines into the ground.

I have a 2016 Limited 2.0T and yes, there is some turbo lag but I’ve learned how to modulate the throttle so that I won’t be going 30-80 is 3 secs ! I’m 6’3 and slim so headroom is skimpy but my seat is usually 3/4 of the way to the bottom and I’m fine ! 20k miles later (bought it with 32k miles) and a move across the country WITH ZERO PROBLEMS 🤘🏽👍🏽
Great review. Got this in white with same interior on Saturday. Looks amazing in person and I love it. This has features that cars costing thousands more would have. People comment on how sporty it looks. Interestingly, one of the things that wows them the most is the size of the trunk. And of course the parking assist.

I've been setting my eyes on the BMW M340i and Genesis G70, but totally missed this car until seeing your video. I know Hyundai monitors these videos. I have a suggestion, did you ever think of putting those back up cameras on the inside? Mine on my Elantra Limited gets so dirty, I can’t see anything when backing up. I do wipe it clean, then it works fine. The problem is to remember to wipe it before you need it. Maybe it would be better mounted above the 3 rd break light in side the car. Just a suggestion. Love my Hyundai, can’t wait for the Sonata N to come out to replace the Elantra. 😘

I was already sold on getting one when I saw it in person. I'm waiting for more info on their supposed n-line variant. This will be my car for a loooooooong time.
I'm literally a month away from buying a 2020 Accord Hybrid... i'm reconsidering now that i'm seeing this is coming as a hybrid soon.
I usually find Hyundai's designs to be overstyled (Lookin' at you, Palisade.) as if once a design is completed it goes through one more review that adds a few creases, bulges, and chrome do-dads. The chrome/led combo "lasso" is unique but I have a feeling it's a bit over the top after awhile. Nevertheless, the overall design works well (imo). It's a handsome car. One area where Hyundai does extremely well is pioneering useful features. The camera views of blind spots when changing lanes is one example. The alert if a child or pet is left in the car is another. In fact, I think it should be a mandated safety feature. The automated fore/aft parking feature is still another. Though I'd prefer explosive sledge hammers that emerge from the doors and move humungous SUV's parked in "compact only" spaces out of the way. As far as performance is concerned the current model is easily adequate but I'm looking forward to the N-Line version to be introduced later this year. That will include a turbo version of the engine and hopefully other improvements for more spirited handling. P.S. You're right about the adaptive cruise control, the same system used in KIA products. It's the best I've encountered on my Sorento. As far as headroom is concerned, get used to it. It's the price one pays for the coupe-like design of sedans these days. Besides, at over 6' tall you're a freak. :)
I just bought the exact model except in Quartz White. I love it!!

Wait for the Sonata N if you want a more "sportier & premium" version.
Think I might give the sonata N Line with almost 300hp a look. Should be at dealers in a few weeks..look good 19 inch wheels and some suspension upgrades
I might look into this vechile, and see what's the best trim level to purchase because the Elantra is good on gass, but this has better room for space.
Car looks good in person.
When you say you have no head room in the back seat is that because your hair is up? I'm confused on that part.
Another review that mentions an issue with headroom. I bought one of these a couple weeks ago and am 6'2" and have at least a few inches of headroom. Granted the seat is at its lowest setting but the back also isn't laid back very far. All in all I love this car.
I am leasing a 2018 Sonata and i love the car. I even upgraded the stock speakers to JL and it made all the difference in the world. I think i will keep this car. Its only 250 a month but it should last me forever because i dont put a lot of mileage on my cars. Im halfway thru my 3 year lease and i only have 4500 miles on it.

the real best reason for the auto forward and back is when its raining you park on the side somewhere and later puddles and such form next to ur car. no problem. you dont have to do the grinch walk trying not to get yo shoes or socks wet. you can simply pull it out of the spot and get in.
Hold up he must be trolling regarding the head room. LMAO
If I was in the market for a sedan.. Hyundai would be on my list. They are leap frogging other brands these days for value and performance. But nah I’ll be getting Mx-5 cuz I just want some impractical fun.
Very nice!

@Hovscorpion12 Smart Park: Tight garage or leaving a parking space when your squeezed by new parkers is fine but using it to get into a parking space is asking for trouble. I've read where the braking is a bit grabby on the hybrid due to regen and mechanical brakes having to work together. Simpler to go with the 1.6 Turbo as 31 mpg average is good enough for me.
If u get the turbo get the paddle shifters it will definitely improve your excelleration and bring the turbo out
The lighter colored interior part is a no on color. Nice improvements if they follow through on the more powerful engines; Beats the one I had for 20 years.
Seems like a really good car... but that front end I'm not sure about that at all!! Everything else.... GREAT!
Owned a 2018 Sonata Limited for 6 months. Loved the car but the leather seats were the most uncomfortable seats ever! I'm a healthy person, but after an hour drive the back pains would start. Until they improve their seats I will not buy another.
