This woman was married to a thief, who escaped Russian courts and then English courts. She hardly lived in Russia and doesn't not understand Russian people. In fact, she came to Russia begging Russian people to understand her and in fact help her with money. She did not find much sympathy. Advice to her, try not to give an opinion on what you are not familiar with not to confuse people. Try going to Donbass yourself and then speak about it. Countess? Am I a bot? Am I paid to criticise you? No. Russian people are not stupid and can see through you.

What is this woman saying? She must have had a memory loss over the last 120 years of history. The Russian people suffered over 75 years from a terrorist regime that ended up killing over 20 million. Even Winston Churchill admitted to the Bolshevik terror campaign in 1920. No Ms. Tolstoy, Russians have suffered from the economic, psychological and spiritual terror campaign of an evil ideology (communism) that was cooked up in the very country you are living in today. The "Russian" oligarchs that took up residence in the city of London are the perfect examples of the economic pillaging of the country.

Look at the knee-jerk responses,at the bottom of this thread that this interview elicited when first it was aired! What a torrent of nasty, bitchy comments! Having seen now the humanitarian consequences of their support of the regime, will these robots still voice such opinions? Do they still dismiss this prophetic lady, of a courage equivalent to that of her father, whose similar telling of the truth in the face of efforts to silence him has now been vindicated? Will they still diminish her as 'knowing nothing about Russia'?, when the world has now incontrovertibly witnessed the fears which she here articulates brought so horribly to pass? However, my beauty, guard your tongue now. You don't have to say any more: the regime (by which I in a far more modest way and for far less courageous a protest was intimidated) is saying it eloquently enough for you.

  • @tatianalyulkin410

The courage of her father is the reason she's being harassed in the first place! I honestly don't think Uncle Kolya even realized he was challenging the Blake Association when he wrote and published " the book ". My father was a monarchist and a rabid Russophile- they can be very sheltered and naive sometimes. But then again- I wasn't prepared for the 2014 coup either. I'm like Sasha- I move between worlds with an incredible ease. And I know White emigres and their descendants. THEY KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RUSSIA AND THE BOLSHEVIKS! They would never- unless they were clearly under duress- say something as stupid as " Russia killed my family ". To me ( and I'm sure to the Reb Tolstoys ) it's a huge red flag. No, Russia or Ukraine or America didn't kill anybody. Certain people did. I mean- if I follow Sasha's logic what am I supposed to say? That my family was butchered by...Ukraine???

Everybody lives everywhere these days, and in fact always has _nothing special about the UK with that; and namely as there are plenty of British people running away from the UK themselves, since first the credit crunch and then Brexit. You should perhaps travel more, and perhaps beyond that yearly drunk week in Ibiza or Benidorm, where all you find is other insular, untraveled Brits with deluded ideas of post Empire national greatness. Also Alexandra is only a quarter Russian (her own father is half Russian) and her mother is English. So she’s hardly anything even close to a foreigner, she’s an English woman, with quarter Russian ancestry. How does her ancestry make her anything even close to a foreigner!? Are you a foreigner because you have Roman or Viking ancestry!? People just love to talk stupid! And specially stupid egotistical rubbish. Alexandra is more of a Russian at heart and soul (which I can totally understand) than she will ever be in ancestry. She’s an English woman, which puts your comment in the insular misplaced nonsense category (AKA as the ignorant rubbish bin).
