umm I think Trump will make Putin & Zelensky offers they can't refuse. Putin keeps Crimea & Donbass. The rest of Ukr joins EU/NATO. Trump is like the Godfather. keeping the peace by fear.
The trouble is, this is yet another energy war - the Sea of Azov is full of oil and gas, as is the Kharkiv region. The Donbas full of coal. He stands to benefit a lot from his actions! And that’s before we get onto the various ores available in the area and the wheat and the docs!!
The whole thing is a collection of miscalculations, and there is no reason to believe this trend will not continue. Others keep starting new events in other parts of the world with miscalculations too. Almost no war ends the way those start it want.
People always say "The US delay in arms" , well........... there are many EU and NATO nations that have not ponied up to the bar! We cannot expect the USA to rescue every crisis caused by the russkys. Certainly they will help, and have helped enormously, but its time for smaller countries like Spain and Italy to reach 2% GDP spending or better! Like Poland and the Baltics are now over 3% contributors, excellent! My own country is below the 2%, but that will change with a new government expected within a year.

@@dpelpal not funny at all bcuz the damage from war is not at all whether an army is pathetic or not. Even this very poor ru army has done incalculable injury to Ukraine, including so vast, so personal and so maiming, so much torture including sex torturing after harassing locals to make sure they won't oppose the Ru troops who invade, etc, like in Kherson, a not small city where it's estimated up to half the population was tortured!! THINK about that! The Russian mil/gru/svr etc is the only medieval sadistic entity on the planet, of any size. Isis is a tiny nothing vs this!!!!!!!!!!! We westerners gave the world The Enlightenment, which is how modernity emerged, ie sci/tech. It's time for the world to help europe defeat Ru once and for all. Two things 'the west' needs to do: provide vastly more weaponry and stop trying to limit how it is used. Ukraine has shown consistently for two years that it thinks and acts tactically, targeting military, economic and logistical targets, not civilians. Take the gloves off and get behind them. Stop fretting about what will happen to russia if its subservient republics demand independence.
