Putin in talks with Xi Jinping, Erdogan - is the West taking regional power blocs seriously?

Major-General (retired) Tim Cross tells Dave Piper organisations of regional, non-Western powers - like the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation - do need to be taken seriously. But he also warns the UK needs to rediscover and defend its values - and its Christian faith.

Within the geopolitical framework you have started with, an important question is whether the Church and the Christian faith is taken more seriously in many of the countries attending the Shanghai Conference than in the Western countries where the Church has slipped comfortably more into a tradition than a living faith. Freedom and democracy are Western, not biblical values, and, I daresay, hardly important to God.

The whole "brutal regimes" thing is getting kind of tired. We can travel and see things as they are. Look at the people, the streets of the western cites and compare them to Shanghai, Moscow. The west is crumbling as their elites are wealthier than ever. Thats real brutality
