If Russia can control the nuclear powers in NATO they don't need to beat Ukraine on the battlefield. Which is why Russia dedicates so much effort trying to get Trump, Le-Pen and Farage elected. They might succeed in America and France, but the project has failed in the UK, which will leave the UK as the only nuclear power not controlled by Putin.

Putin works hard to spread misinformation and fear about immigrants because that helps his right wing populist allies, and he also creates plenty of asylum seekers. NATO reckons that the reason why Syria started using such harsh tactics in their civil war was at Russia's request because it created so many refugees out of Syria and into Europe which helps Putin's little helpers in Europe. Likewise the Gaza war. Hamas would not have invaded Israel without Iran's backing, and Iran would not have given their backing without getting Putin's approval. Hamas leaders were invited to Moscow shortly before they started the war in Gaza. The main beneficiary of the war in Gaza is V Putin (a) because it creates lots of asylum seekers which his little helpers in Europe can use to get votes and (b) it helps Trump's re-election by making Biden look weak. The main goal of the war in Gaza is to get Trump elected president. Hamas don't realise that, they're just useful fools, they're pawns in Putin's games.
