The only way Ivey will get respect is if Monty is gone

@Megahustla313rd Ivey will get his respect next season no matter who is coaching. He has the physical tools, the work ethic, and the confidence to fully maximize his potential and I am expecting big things from him next season. Definitely bet the over on this team next season.

@teezzz9645 I think Ivey will have a big 3rd year as well. He has the work ethic to make small improvements that will be major dividends. I also feel like the Pistons coaching staff, shortly after inserting him into the starting lineup, took my advice 😉 and gave him a far more defined role within the offense helping to keep his reads and options simple. If he can master a simplified role he can easily jump as a more proficient scorer upwards of around 22+ppg on relatively good efficiency. I also think a simple move will be the Pistons amplifying their transition offense to take advantage of have not one but two all-world athletes in Ivey and Ausar that should feed off each other causing havoc on the defensive end.

Looking at Doncic and Irving is inspiring… If Ivey shoots regularly from 3, about 36-37% it will be great…

as i've said time and time again, we can't judge the young guys fairly with Monty as the coach. everyone regressed. only cade seemed to improve, but that is mostly inspite of monty.

@Hilltop238 Nobody buys a new Farrari and then has some mechanical issues so they decide to trade it in for a Toyota. Folks are wild out here on some of their takes. If Ivey and Cade both improve their ball-handling and become consistent shooters from 3 (which they are both projected to do) they immediately look like an all-star duo.

I love Jaden Ivey! I just want to add more 3 point shooting with Gary Trent Jr/ Hield and Ivey can still learn a little something from each! Ivey is a dog!

@Kevin Williams-ci1sh I think there is more 3pt shooting than we realize. Cade, Ivey, and Stewart should be above average 3pt shooter by next season considering how they shot it this year. A lot of misses were due to not knowing where their shots would come from and taking shots out of flow. With a solidified starting unit, chemistry, and set roles a lot of that will be ironed out.

Ivey doesnt suck, his issue isn't about his ceiling or his potential. The issue is at this point in his career he's not ready to start. Gary Trent at this point is a better player than him, maybe not in 5 yrs but at this point he is and we need to turn this around. Cant wait for every young player to hopefully figure it out in a few yrs. Gotta start winning soon or Cade asking for a trade..

@stevenhudson7591 I agree that in the limited time the two have had together that they have lacked chemistry. I think some of that is the coaching and a lot of it was the injuries that kept limiting their time on the court together. I’ve seen all the holes in Ivey’s game but you can’t tell me that Gary Trent Jr is better for this team than trying for another season to see if Ivey and Cade can make it work. Keep in mind, Cade and Ivey have only played 2-seasons. Cade isn’t asking for a trade after year 3 or 4, especially when he has been figuring himself out and working through growing pains himself, turning the ball over, bad defense, bad body language, inconsistent shooting, he is still growing himself, not a finished product in the least bit.

@@therockneverstops8261 Ivey has more potential than Trent Jr but Trent Jr is a better player than Ivey at this point in their careers. Also Cade needs shooters which is what Trent is so yes I think he's be a better fit next to Cade. Not perfect but better. Also, all the people who have sources close to the situation (probably Cade's brother or cousin) say we basically have 1 more year before Cade starts asking for a trade the first trade deadline after he signs his extension...

Only reason they put him on smaller guards so Cade won’t get tired Ivey be airballing floaters and wide open threes , only pass to big man when he can’t score drop offs, he so fucking wild on the court he be tripping over his feet and blowing layups I would rather have Killian he can’t shoot but he played defense and could set up his teammates without turning the ball over something Ivey can’t
