Pussycat - My Broken Souvenirs • TopPop
Музыка
Pussycat was a Dutch pop group from Brunssum in Limburg led by the three Kowalczyk sisters: Toni, Betty and Marianne. Other members of the band were Lou Willé (Toni's then-husband), Theo Wetzels, Theo Coumans, and John Theunissen. The band had four international hits in a row in the mid-seventies: Mississippi (1975), Georgia (1976), Smile (1976) and My broken souvenirs (1977) and then a series of hit singles in the Netherlands and Belgium. Mississippi was number 1 the Netherlands and in another 15 countries. 'Mississippi' achieved 22 gold records. It is estimated that "Mississippi" sold over five million copies worldwide. Most of Pussycat's songs were written by Werner Theunissen.

Definately one of the most underrated group's for a decade with such beautiful memories. Thank you. Aussie.
Everything they recorded was brilliant. Why is melody dead these days? Not sure it was helpful to have the another group with a similar name. However, will remain as one of the best groups ever.
Beautiful soothing music from the nostalgic 70's when I was a young child. My mother, now 69 loved listening to music on the radio and Pussycat was one of her favourite bands. Bittersweet memories as my parents sadly divorced during this time. I hope my mom found some comfort from these songs.

Yes. All sorts of freedoms: as a child to roam freely, as an adult? where do I start? It was pre-mobile phone, pre-internet, pre-faang, pre-just not talking to one another but making judgements about everything on-line. I am old now and, like everyone can't get my head around how I got here but I do think we live in a more circumscribed world (even without Covid-19). We are more judgemental now, more polarised. We hate more, understand less.

Que música linda, que saudade do tempo que não volta mais.
I found these girls when I searched for Mississippi. Since, I so like their voices and they are pretty songs. This one makes me cry. There are some people who become "broken souvenirs". They will be with you till the day you die and you will love them but there is no way back from the broken bit. Sometimes it goes too deep. I had a dream the other night and the pieces of the jigsaw that contained the person I so loved were the wrong way round. It told me all I needed to know.

@@kaybee1234 Thanks. 50+ years is difficult. Life is long, I know but I am coming to the end and there are some people I really believed would be with me. If they are not, it is difficult. You're a good one, so I think there's no end for you. It's only evil coming to its end. See how the world and universe function? If they're destructive (negative/evil), there's no way they can exist. And you're not evil. :) Lately I've been thinking about life in this world. I think this world is where souls come and interact with others using our bodies. So, you may still come around, or see the Creator of it all. Never feel down, Una. Such is useless. :)

@@kaybee1234 I am 85 now and listen to these every day. Toni has an absolutely beautiful unique voice and am amazed that this group seem underrated. Great backing too.
They were huge all throughout Europe 1976 -1981. Their song Mississippi raced up the charts even though the ''experts'' trashed it, and it knocked ABBA of the top spot.
Pussycat was the band of my teens. I listened to the hits on the radio stations. I bought the band's first LP, but listened to the songs on the radio. I saw the picture of the band and always imagined that it was Thoni the main vocal, but I had never seen a clip of Pussycat Then, as an adult, with youtube, one day I was curious. Wow, a lot of emotion because it seems like I was with the band. Pussycat sings with magic. These are melodies that play deep in the heart. Only those who loved the sound of Pussycat can understand.
I listened to Pussycat on "radio Mi Amigo" in the late 70's in the North of France on the MW of the radio: broadcast in Flemish language. My broken souvenirs.
