Very cool video, after watching your video I started playing around with different batteries for my Atomik Barbwire XL 24, in the stock configuration it would do 31 mph using a Venom 75C 2200mAh 11.1 V LiPo by dropping down to a Venom 25C, 2200 Mah, 11.1 V and went with a little bit smaller prop with less pitch, the boat jumped up to 43.2 mph, speed checked by an on board GPS, I was very happy with the results, we are also running on bigger body of water than you are and that makes a big difference......

I ordered 3 props, 2 of the 438 's, and one CNC 440, already de-tongued, and somewhat already balanced. ETA. 2 -4 four days, depending on shipping conditions? or 5-20? THEY weren't be very specific. SO, we'll use codes, like "Whenever?" AND you very kind to help out. And your price , is more than reasonable. to tune the props. I plan to Keep one of the 438's , raw and as a spare, and then grind on the CNC, and the FLT. I am really glad, you've had hands on experience with these props, and your working videos are invaluable. THERE is another guy, I work with, "Team Baxter,": and he has gone over the Black Jack motor changes, to additional cooling, and other tweaks. He's run the bigger Leopard Engines in the Black Jack , and he's cruising in the 40's all day along. MY You Tube channel is somewhat cluttered, and crossing three streams. I also do blue screen, 3D art, UNREAL, and some family stuff. If you want to drop in, I'm VUEMASTER 2009.

Thanks for the vid. I just got a 24. first boat and have been thinking of mods. I put the zelos 36 1.4 x 1.6 metal prop on. I think it gained some top end, but does a prop spin or burnout sometimes on low end. 5000 3s.

It's called cavitation, with high pitch props the top end is good with bad takeoff. With low pitch props better acceleration lower top end. 3 blad props are supposed to be the best of both worlds. I prefer 2 blade props. Personally

Boating: Do's , and Don'ts. I couldn't figure out, why my Black Jack started sounding like a sick "meat grinder last night. " Apparently , I need to grease the Flex cable more often. I brought the boat , back, before it got too "gnarly. " Even so, I had to order a new flex. AH, the sport , that loves your credit card. so much. IN, other news.... THE new props are heading this way.

Mono hulls are a great platform, fun to tune and upgrade (turnfin, trimtabs, water pickups, etc.) Catamarans are fun too... not as many external upgrades needed to tune the boat, as say a mono hull.

@@nageltermin725 I've run the m41 & loved that boat for real. I can say the same for the 42, that being said. The 41 has been out longer and has some upgrade parts out. The 42 doesn't have any upgrade parts out (that I know of YET!) other than props. 42 is amazing. Geeezzzzz 😆 if you have a set of 8s batteys I'd say go with the 42 a little more tunning involved with the 42... (my experience anyway). If you want a easier boat out the box I'd go with the 41 cheaper to run aswell. Hard question to answer. Hope that helps.

I like watching your video's, please keep em going. My 2 cents, for proper prop testing, it is important you reach max rpm. you know your max rpm, motor Kv times volt. I bought a used sanwa M12 transmitter with 2 temp sensors and a rpm sensor. With that setup you can monitor rpm and esc and motor temp, and you can set max temp in transmitter to give alarm when you reach max setting.

THIS one , sold it for me, I was steering toward the 440, following logic, a little bigger blade, might give it a few more MPH. THE opposite was true. THE 438 allowed for more RPM. THE same was true with Stock Black Jack 29 prop. Gnarly rooster tail, (Great for show), but too much lift. THE Grim Racer , I am running now, looks similar to the 438. And it comes down to Stainless steel, VS. Copper. ? THE the motor on the Black Jack 24, has better timing with certain speed controllers. I had a dynamite 60 Amp, and had seen no significant improvement in over all performance. THE current draw increases dramatically , when you bust it out of the hole. AND depending on the C Rating, (Turbo Charger) , 25 to 100> Go from a Volkswagen , to a wicked TOP Fuel dragster, or Quad coupled turbo on an a Porsche, or 6 S, Lamborghini I ) am running 5200 MA. / 50 C , and that's a good combo. I think the MA rating , is your run time. I had a 7600 75 C , and it had, wicked acceleration , but was so heavy, it lists the boat, and actually ran the boat slower. Your 2200 4 S , test, proved ...... the lighter the boat, the faster, and more stable it was . THE Grim racer, lays the boat out on a rail. BUT , the 438, would be nice for a little extended. top .( BUT I haven't figured out, how to get it prepped, tuned.. Do you have source, you go to the get your props prepared? I could use some help, on that end? THEN , you pulled out Twin 4000 Leopard motors? ..... YOU will have what is equivalent to WARP Drive. WE kids, we think too much. I saw a guy run a Rigger at 117 MPH, on 12 S . 500 AMP controller. USING the twin motor configuration.

Maybe 20bucks each because it is rather tedious. If you make the prop order I can give you my address and have them shipped to me, then I can ship the finished prop to you, pay pal me when I give you the tracking number..

I use the Commonsense , Lectron Pro 5200 50 C, 3 S . They run real well in that boat. (I'm on my 4th. season) with the Black Jack 24. and the batteries have given me little trouble, unless over charged, or run too long. Get a cheap low voltage alarm, and tack it it on the balance plug, and the battery will start to beep , if it get's too low. Let me me know , if any questions , regarding the boat.

I'm just now watching your video for the first time I am so confused and it looked like you were getting confused yourself sorry I was a long time racer of RC off-road trucks and buggies racing your mah.. rating is just how long your run is going to last 5,000 maybe 8 to 10 minutes 1500 maybe 5 to 6 minutes the C rating.. is what you're looking at jump speed fast speed when the battery is hot just put it in the boat warm it up for 100 ft and then blast it that's what counts... You mentioned a difference in speed with the ESC I didn't understand that either you could have a 500 amp ESC... With the 5000 ma 80c battery running 3s and get 30...31 mph.. nothing is really going to change until you put a 4S or 5S battery in voltage and amperage... You had lots of play time fun to watch it go back and forth I don't know if your video is on your head cam you are a little off on that at first but it looked like he got better

Kinda tinkering with weight and power, different mah/ c size in the boat high power- heavy battery's sometimes will not give you higher top speed because of the extra weight in the boat. Sometimes you can get better top speed with lower light battery's (low mah/c lite battery) than with big HIGH POWER heavy BATTERY'... Yea I hit 41 with a 4s 2200 30c. . I couldn't put a 5000 50c 4s on this motor because it would over exceed the max recommended rpm. (motor is rated for 3s max, did math so I didn't exceed max rpm) In previous video I hit 34 ( ithink) with 4000 3c (lite battery) and only got 30 with a 5000 100c (heavy batt). Not every thing is text book. Text book is in a perfect world perfect conditions.. maybe this clears up a few misconceptions or maybe miss communication. Thanks for watching.
