So, my boat is a 38' sailboat with a 6' draft, so very different; but, I just never go out until I've checked the winds and the tides. It seems to me, watching these over and over that no one in these videos has a clue as to where that information can be found, or how to interpret it. And, of course, docking in my boat is ALL about slow approaches and dock line management. I think that's why I find these videos so mesmerizing. I just can't stop watching. Oh, and "dumbfounding" is exactly the right word.

Good one, Jax 👍! I figured they could just launch and drill a few holes in the bottom of the boat to let all that water out.................what?! No good?

Quite a few years ago a colleague asked me to help launch his new boat, a 15" speed boat. We slipped it & as he was parking the car & trailer the boat was settling in the water as I held the bow rope. When he returned I asked if he had put the bung in "What's a bung?" he replied. "Get the trailer, get the trailer!!" There was no bung & we spent all morning searching for an open boat yard on Sunday. We did & got it launched. The 90hp Mercury made that little boat scream along, frightened the crap out of him & he sold it.

@ericyeoman2687 yes. That motor was a very LIGHT WEIGHT Evinrude E-tec 2 stroke. If it had been one of the other 4 stroke motors... it would be significantly heavier! By the way, E-tec's can be completely submerged & recovered without ANY significant internal harm compared to all other HEAVIER / more mechanically complex 4 strokes. The Navy Seals used E-tec's specifically for that reason! A video showing them submerging their whole boat & engine was made for demonstrating that particular inherent design capability. Their motor was not any different than an average consumer product. It was not specially modified in any way... as far as that capability is concerned. Too bad BRP RUINED Evinrude /Johnson brands like OMC did, just before... THEY... went bankrupt! Now again out of business because of BRP's blunderous mismanagement & very scant marketing with little public re-education about their re-engineered / re-designed high-tech 2 stroke. Which equaled & out performed all other 4 strokes... pound for pound and horsepower for horsepower! Too bad! 🤨

I don’t get the anything about this situation. First, I could see on my iPad where the drain plug should have been. But… I would be shocked if asking ANYONE nearby wouldn’t have acquired the answer to water in their boat. If random stranger has no clue, they will ask someone who would likely know.

When you get your boating license and your boat, you’ll better understand what they’re trying to do. Americans don't know how to drive cars, so there’s no reason to think that would change on the water. When they come to Europe, they're panicked at the idea of parallel parking or driving in a city where not every intersection ends with a stop sign. I love Americans and I love America, but remember that the more driving aids you have, the less you’ll know how to drive. Your videos are very amusing. Sometimes you talk too fast. LOL. hugs from Belgium ^^

That is a pretty blanket statement. I am an American and I take offense to that. Would love to see you on our roads. BTW for my driving test I had to parallel park a semi. I have been to 23 different countries and I do not see any of them driving any better than others. I am wondering where you experienced American drivers. Considering I drive on a daily basis farther than your whole puny country is big, you have no room to talk.

  • @AbNomal621

For someone who “loves Americans” you sure are insulting and derisive. I think you love our money. As for driving, during my year and a half in Germany my friends and I were constantly amazed at how flippant many drivers seemed given how much harder it was to get a license. But here is a lesson you should hear: America is larger than the entire EU. Most of our states are larger than your country. And just as there are variations in Europe, there are in America.
