'Pursuing Your Dreams? 100% Bullsh*t' Scott Galloway vs Piers Morgan

Ойын-сауық

Professor Scott Galloway has a veritable lifetime of experience in marketing and business, and quite a few uncomfortable truths to share on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
He debates Piers Morgan on whether the youth should ‘pursue their dreams’ - and surprisingly argues they should have a sober conversation on the realities of the job market. He also paints a dark and dreary picture for the future of young people with a slew of statistical data to back it up. Lastly, he tells Piers "young men are paying for the sins of their fathers" and that masculinity needs to be re-embraced. That being said, Scott makes it clear that the rhetoric of supposed manhood gurus like Andrew Tate, is just thinly-veiled misogyny.

Obviously....in the 70s-80s someone with a middle-class job could buy a house, car and support a family when they're in their 30s. This whole discussion should be framed like "how much people earn vs how much things cost" Most of the time, the so-called "job creators" end up charging more for whatever they're selling over decades. But they don't raise the wages of their workers to match that price increase. So it's back to the good old "how much the owners pocket" vs "how much the workers pocket"

A couple points: 1. The "rise of women" is largely a Potemkin Village of unmanageable debt, and the whole thing is a facade. Having a "good" job and a stack of graduate degrees is worthless if you have $300k in student loans. Many women are seriously screwed and nobody cares. 2. If you produce more college graduates, you don't get more college-educated professionals; you get a completely vicious competition for scarce entry-level jobs. 3. Colleges don't teach real academic subjects any more. Worthless classes are better for retention. 4. The whole College-Career track worked so well for Boomers that they can't imagine a world where it doesn't. It's easier to scold young people than to help them. 5. Opportunities for social interactions have declined precipitously since 2020.

Finally, someone who understands the real challenges faced by young people today. I recognize that my generation often glorifies victimhood, minorities, and mental health issues. However, for the silent majority who lead normal lives, it's truly depressing. No matter how much effort we put into work, studying, staying updated, and being passionate, it never feels rewarded. It's like a never-ending chase for something that should be accessible to everyone: a house and a family. To give you an example, my husband and I are both 30 years old and hold Director positions. Without naming names, my husband has worked with some of the biggest companies in the world. We live in Italy, where the cost of living is relatively low, but taxes are staggering. Despite receiving a UK/US salary, which puts us in the top 1% for our age group, we still struggle to afford a house without taking out a bank loan. It's increasingly worrying that we could end up in significant debt, paying almost double the house's value no matter how much we earn. And I'm not just complaining for myself. Most of my friends have various degrees in useful specializations and still get hired as juniors, struggling to afford rent. It's scary.

I agree with you that there are things that just need to be done and we, as society need to do them. I think the trouble is that so many people feel that they are actually doing completely pointless jobs that are in fact NOT giving back to the society. Let's take financial services for example, a huge part of UK's employment. Most of these jobs are fairly well paid but are they really needed by society? There are plenty other office jobs that you end up doing literally just for the money, ultimately with little or no sense of being useful. There are also many jobs that are needed but just so hugely underpaid that you really struggle every day with little hope for better tomorrow. And I think that the key difference between our parents and us now is that they literally built better tomorrow not only for themselves, but also a better society for their children. That is really something we lack these days. What's the goal of working 9-5 and "giving back to the society" when you know you will never even be able to afford your own place to live or start a family?

Saying it's all about money, it's a way that people low in status and success comfort themselves by alleging both to themselves and to others that the system is rigged, that the women don't like them because they're poor, they don't look good because they're poor, they don't have friends because they're poor and they're miserable because they're poor. Because they're poor. These are stories that primarily male humans tell themselves to justify the reality around them, which is actually much more cruel and less subject to change. Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein both had status and money. What was it they had to do to have women sleep with them? It's not all about money. It's all about attractiveness and status.

I really enjoy listening to Scott and have done so on dozens of video presentations. He admits his greatest tool is his gift of gab. Scott's issue is that he has begun to realize the harm ultra-liberal policies and the infiltration of liberal demands within social and mainstream media have caused American and Western society. Piers completely threw him off guard with a question he had not had a chance to think about and, therefore, come up with a fancy slogan or preprogrammed message. He asked him who is the most impressive person or person who should be president and his first answer was Madeline Albright who is the exact opposite of the young leader in politics he had spent the video talking about.....then he realized the absurdity of his own answer and reflexed to a bunch of left wing lunatics such as Gavin Newsom who has ruined California or Amy Klocouchar who has ruined Minnesota. His worst statement was saying "I am bit worried about business leaders who think they can all of a sudden cosplay politician". America needs business people in government who understand what it is like to form and grown a business and NOT more life long liberal politicians like Joe Biden and the people he mentioned. Let me be clear = It can be a center of the political road or even a slightly left-leaning business leader, but it should be business leaders in Congress and the presidency and not a bunch of lifelong political people. At the end of the day, Scott Galloway is just an ultra-left-leaning person who is wrong about government policy but who is only now beginning to realize the issues lunatic left policies have done to ruin today's American boys and kids and is trying to not face those facts and instead spin the latest mind games on how some new liberal policies and new left-leaning leaders will fix what they have broken over the last 30 plus years.

I designed my own motto: "Do what you LOVE, NOT what you are good at." Ok now having said that. If you go through life and reality pans out not quite as sparkly as you had hoped for and you end up polishing a turd... at that point you look at your life and realize you only have so many years on earth. You can then assess that you tried for perfect and now maybe you can go into realistic employment in a reasonably pleasurable field that makes money. And do this no later than mid-life. Pursue your dreams... but if they don't pan out the way you had envisioned... re-evaluate and find a happy money making compromise.

Part of the problem with the conversation about masculinity for young boys and men is that you can call men trash, and say that the world doesn't need men, without consequences. Any man saying that about women would lose their job and be cancelled pretty fast. Try repeating this conversation but about the problem with femininity/feminism on your show and you would be dismissed as an incel or misogynist.

Scott Galloway is talking about structural economic issue, but Piers Morgan constantly deflect to the "culture of the times". This is the classic conservative move; "where are the black fathers?", "young people are entitled", "masculinity is under assault". Reduce everything to an issue of individual moral failings, or a cultural degradation. It is red herring to prevent any talk of corrective action, i.e. the implementation of public policy to address the inequities in society.

Watch out for these "policy people" who make their own societies weaker, poorer and disadvantaged by criminals, while touting their "virtue-signalling" moral crusades.

The other lie is the concept of "work life balance". Now probably more than ever you are going to have to work long hours if you want to get ahead. Too many creampuffs in this country today. Strength and probably happiness comes from continually doing things that are uncomfortable. Asking women on a date, working out, getting up at 6 am, working long hours, fasting, cold showers. Anything that is difficult will provide benefits.

Twenty-eight years later, The Millionaire Next Door still holds up. Two PhDs studied millionaires for 20 years and their discoveries are exactly what Piers and Scott are discussing. Who were the millionaires? They owned 28 coin laundries, they had a garage that rebuilt truck engines, they had junk yards with thousands of cars. Tool and die, completely unsexy, waltz in and get good at it early on, the world will be at your feet. Underwater welding? My God, no, everyone wants to be a lawyer, right? Chances are you're not going to get into the NFL, MLB, NBA. Find something no one else wants to do and do it. There's a lot more in the book, like family dynamics, but it's all good.

What are we to do with all of this? This is all because of Sinwar and Haniyeh. Haniyeh eats at restaurants in Turkey. And Sinwar eats hidden underground. They eat meat while we eat bullets.' - Source : kfsPPvA8nLE Quote 2- "HAMAS is killing my people. (...) Most Gazans are against Hamas."-Jordanian -Palestinian Mudar Zahran. - Source : O7Go9af9koY Why don't we just show this to every university? Gazans don't want ceasefire! Israeli PR shot itself in the foot in my opinion by insisting 'most Palestinians support Hamas.' Don't interrupt your opponent when they're making a mistake. - If the pro-Palestine/anti-Israel say most hate Hamas, then Israel won't murder civilians since the civilians are allies of Israel.

Wow. Two educated men that use the word "misogyny" incorrectly and out of context. For example, Piers calls Andrew Tate a misogynist. Misogyny is a hatred of women. Tate doesnt hate women. You can argue that he says some things some could consider chauvinistic, but chauvinism and misogyny are not the same thing. They're not interchangeable and I'm so tired of everybody today Throwing these words around as if it's the same thing. Same issue with the word racism and prejudice.. not the same thing and yet constantly used incorrectly.

  • @Durzo1259

Technically misogyny doesn't fit clear as a bell as it means hatred of women, but I'd say he shows contempt for women which is certainly in the ballpark of hatred. And if the allegations are true, that he threatens, [grapes] and enslaves women, I'd call that both contemptuous and hateful behavior. Frankly it wouldn't surprise me as I recognize all the signs of a sociopath in Tate.

  • @nickdial8528

@@Durzo1259 I don't listen to rumors because rumors are often bs. However, with that said, what you're trying to do is take the definition and then shoehorn a narrative to fit that definition. what you're describing is potentially chauvinistic behavior. Misogyny is very clear in its definition. It is a hatred for women. Although, you'll notice that modern definition websites have taken prejudice and sexism and twisted it to fit "misogyny," as if they're interchangeable. They are not, look up the original definition of the word and there are clear distinctions between prejudiced, sexist and misogyny. They are dumbing down the English language
