The work of God alone. It’s why God is God. To be a disciple in the discipline of God, the Gospel, The life of Jesus as Son of Man. Puritanism - I never made the connection Pastor Nichols. I did indeed think they were devils. Cotton Mather, I’ll have to learn more, . The first Bible, John Elliott. Resting in the Purity, the Soverneighty of God, Ann Bradstreet, 1st poet in America. Fascinating Pastor Nichols. Great learning from you, Preacher-Teacher. ♥️✝️

I wish I could live in a place that took the things of God as seriously as they did. I'm not saying they were anywhere near perfect. Of course not. But they do seem extraordinary. Wow, I had never even heard of John Eliot / The Algonquin Bible. I did not realize the Bible had been translated for any Native peoples at so early a time!

Interesting info. I am 1/3rd English and nobody in my family talked about my family roots in America. I love the poetry and music part very much, as King Jesus has given me, for over 50 years, 300+ original gospel songs. I many times feel I was born in the wrong place or era, but then, hang onto my every breath, lovingly to my God, till He wisps me up to His Paradise, ever grateful beneath His Sovereign Rule!!! 🛐 Can’t hardly wait to hear the rest of this series! The peace of Jesus be with you! 🕊️ 🌺 🎶🤴🎶 🌺 🕊️

"Therefore I, William Bradford by the grace of God today, and the franchise of this good people, governor of Plymouth say, through virtue of vested power ye shall gather with one accord and hold in the month of November Thanksgiving unto the Lord." Margaret Junkin Preston. I learned this poem many years ago.

I was telling someone how American had Christian principles in the beginning. They said, "No, we never had any." History is a wonderful teacher. 😊

Pastor Nichols quoted about Hawthorne' novel The Scarlet Letter. This novel brings as a "sect" a religion group whose name is Quaker. I would like to know which creed it has been followed. Does the Quaker's creed have to do Calvinism? Thanks

The differences are theological, not tags. When someone tells me they're calvinist, I can know so much more about them than when they say they're christian. But I've got a problem with the church not taking stances on what they believe. It becomes incoherent and shallow. I would like just one denomination myself, but I think it'll be presbyterian baha

I appreciate this...but we need to get all 'isms' out of our vocabulary. There aren't any 'isms' in Christianity.

He conveniently left out the sordid history of how Puritans grievously persecuted those who held different spiritual beliefs, especially Baptists. Like Calvin their father, they intruded into every aspect of people's lives with harsh Old Testament type judgment, mixing church and state together. Calvin was a wicked man who had people ostracized, tortured, and even killed who did not line up with all of his doctrines. Calvinism is a horrible heresy that will go down in flames at the judgment seat of Christ. The Reformers were not great spiritual role models. They brought infant baptism and a spirit of persecution with them when they left the Catholic Church.
