Pure sound of Moki radial with Seidel Prop - Moki 257 - 250cc petrol 4T 7 cylinder

Ойын-сауық

Enjoy pure sound of this incredible Moki radial engine. This is after 4 liters on 1:30, now 1:50 with Valvoline Synpower 2T oil (full synthetic) and with really big 34x14" Seidel Prop custom Z-37 Cmelak scale prop. Absolutely no problem for this big radial engine. Spin up is very fast and idle is around 700 rpm. Lowest idle is between 500-600 rpm, stable.

    You can see the mount bending forward. You need to weld some supports onto the top corners back to the rear of the frame. That mount will eventually break.

  • @Dzordzikk

    @Dzordzikk

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Jay, bending isn´t in mount construction but all mount with engine want to go fowrard. I must add next bricks, if I will not put my leg on it and will go to full gas, mount with engine will fall over. Same situation is with ZDZ 180cc 2cylinder at full gas.

    What propeller and hub is that? It looks like something off a small manned aircraft, not a model. Beautiful engine by the way, making me envious :) PS also wondering, does the exhaust ring muffle the noise effectively? Hi Bernard, this is scale prop for my new project in 1/3 scale - Czech agricultural aircraft Z-37 Čmelák (bumblebee). Propeller (from Mario Seidel - Germany) have very scale sound, especially in windy conditions and pulls very hard because big area. You can look to real scale aircraft, engine and propeller here (use headphones): kzread.info/dash/bejne/fY6azcGhdJrdiKQ.html

  • @bernardw4842

    @bernardw4842

    Thanks for the link, that's an interesting project and a plane I wasn't aware of before. It would make a great model, most agricultural aircraft do, especially withy such a great engine. No headphones but my computer is connected to a nice sound system with external DAC and that video sounds great. I love that radial sound. I worked out a design for a constant speed or variable pitch prop hub but don't have the resources to develop it, I thought the market would mostly be for UAV's with advanced scale RC secondary. That would really work well with this type of engine and plane. The prop is very important to the scale sound of an aircraft as it is such a large part of what we hear - with larger models the engine RPM isn't really so different from the original. Of course it's higher, but usually not by a large factor, and with the right prop and especially as the model passes you hear the Doppler effect, THAT sounds impressive! Good luck with your project, and again I envy your engine :) Hope you're enjoying it - you certainly seem to enjoy the sound! Model radials are such beautiful pieces of machinery anyway but the sound makes them magical. I'm glad you'll be flying it and not just admiring it on a shelf! Best of luck with it.
