When it was all said and done, the loan and release clause details were finalized, so at the end of the season, they thought they they could negotiate in bad faith and lowball on a player that has proven their worth to them. Feel bad for Ian because he struggled to get climb past the rigorous Chelsea loan system and when he finally had his big break the coach misprofiled him but the loan ended up being big for him. I’ve got no doubts he’s going to ball out at Villa

Dortmund probably had the money,but we're trying to low ball Chelsea & maybe didn't realize that Villa were going to move in for Maatsen fast as soon as their agreement to buy him for €35 million expired & were probably hoping they could come in again at a later date in the transfer window & Chelsea would let him leave on the cheap,well if that was their intention it blew up in their faces. As a Villa fan I believe he'll fit in perfectly to our system/style of play & at 22 years old could be really important for us moving forward,so needless to say it's a good deal for Villa who are on the rise & for a change everything is falling into place which is about fuck'in time after some very testing times in our great football clubs long history. I'm a Villa fan & seeing/hearing you Chelsea fans speculating on which Villa player might be coming your way as part of our agreed deal to buy Ian Maatsen was great entertainment for me personally. You lot were going through the Villa squad like maybe a kid with a Xmas list of presents you'd like to get to open on the 25th of December & obviously our key players who'd grace most club sides were the 1st names you would love to see wearing your colours ie- Watkins, Martinez, Bailey,Diaby & even Morgan Rogers who's already made a big impact in his short time at Villa & I've heard a lot of fans from other clubs wandering how their clubs didn't scout him & bring him to play for them,well tbh it took most Villa fans by surprise as well & we never saw that move on the horizon & just assumed he'd hardly play much game time for a good while,but the fact he came straight into the side & got better each game until he was really a standout amongst a lot of quality ballers he was playing with,but moving to Chelsea was never on the cards 100% & basically all of our key starters were off limits. Most Villa fans guessed that Douglas Luiz was moving on & had heard he was looking for a new challenge after 5+ years at Villa, nowadays Aston Villa fc are a club on the up & building a squad with the intent of challenging for all the big prizes in football that every fan wants to see their club winning ,so I knew it'd firstly be a young player & on the fringes of the squad. To see your faces lighting up reeling off all our big names & hoping one of them would soon be on their way to play for Chelsea was absolutely priceless to see as a loyal Villa fan & created a big time grin watching your wishful thinking in full flow & on view was good entertainment tbh. Anyway you've got another one of our best young talents like you did with Carney 2 years ago & most Villa fans are sad too see him leaving as he has great potential & has been in the 1st team squad for the last 2 seasons & could be a real star soon moving forward,but cos of the shitty FFP/PSR regulations that Villa voted against before they were brought into reality selling some young/fringe players was the most painless way to raise Abit of cash to comply with the the upcoming June 30th deadline for submitting our 3 year accounts to the premier league or risk a points deduction as we were close to the edge of the allowed limit of lose. Being a Chelsea fan must've been frustrating over the last few years with so much change & being used to success routinely,but nothing lasts forever & all good things come to an end as some say & the present Chelsea is a very different animal than what you've been spoiled with over a 20-25 year period. Us Villa fans know exactly how it is to see the club you love being mismanaged & having fuck'in clowns running the show,it sucks big time,but now luckily Aston Villa fc are being run well & we have a real togetherness with good people in all areas at the club & we're making big steps in the right direction which is great to be a part of & we hope we can be up there challenging for the long term,only time will tell,but the overall picture is the best we've had in a very long time so we are confident as long suffering fans.
