Purdue will be the underdog for the first time in a long time. Post defense for UConn will be interesting - one-on-one or double? - and will be a key story in the game. Not sure UConn plays d as tight on the perimeter as what NC State played, harassing Braden. The weak side double will be interesting to see. Purdue needs to TAKE CARE OF THE BASKETBALL, avoiding live ball turnovers. UConn will roast Purdue on those, unlike NC State, which let Purdue off the hook for the most part. Where UConn excels is jumping out on transition and piling up runs of 7, 8 or more points. The game will be tied then, boom, UConn goes off with open threes, dives to the rim, and offensive rebounding. UConn is without a doubt the best team Purdue will face all season. I hope Purdue shows up and plays their best game. Great analysis, as always!

I didn’t watch the game, but I checked the box score and it looked like UConn played a flawless game. Every player contributed, only had four turnovers and shot the ball 40% from three. Purdue, on the other hand, arguably, played their ugliest game of their season. I’m glad they found a way to win but if we play like that against UConn, we will 100% lose.

Uconn wasn't hitting from 3 well all game until late it felt. That's why it wasn't until the end we pulled away cus our 3s started sinking. We don't live n die on the 3. We don't commit turnovers. Can defend n score anywhere.

I counted half a dozen moving screens on the UCONN folks during this presentation. Does that not get called anymore? I saw a pivotal call in the NCAA women's FF game....

Im not too worried about Smith in the drop coverage. I think Newton will be on Loyer, Spencer on Jones, and that means Castle will be on Smith who has the body control and length to challenge Smith with a rear view contest. Even diarra has the length to get a decent rear view too, though not nearly as easily. Also if Gillis and Edey do a double high screen, honestly, I'm okay with Karaban getting switched on Smith and Castle onto Gillis. Spencer can tag Edey and cheat over too if he's on Jones since he's smaller and has a slightly slower release, and I trust Spender's close outs enough to not get beaten on a straight line drive.

Uconn likely wins, but this will be a good test for Edey/Clingan to see who could be drafted higher.

From what I have seen there will be a lot of minutes where Edey will be on the floor while Clingan is resting on the bench. I love my Boilermakers but this might be the end of the road. I hope for an entertaining game either way.

Clingan will get drafted higher regardless of who wins the tournament. He just makes more sense for the NBA.

Uconn needs to double Edey immediately if he dribbles. If he doesn't dribble Clingan stays on him, if he puts the ball on the floor immediate double team. Imo Uconn 72 Purdue 62.

Different game different plays the only way for Perdue to win is if UConn do a lot of mistake . If not UConn will destroy Perdue

Scouting report? Zach Edey has no clue the level of physicality that's coming tomorrow night. Nevermind he's a statue compared to klingans mobility. This will be an ass whipping like no other. Purdue has played a far tougher schedule this year knocking off top ranked teams multiple times this year, UConn is great but has not faced top teams often. UConn may be surprised given their comp has been weaker throughout the season. Do think Purdue needs to rain 3s to win.

Uconn is the only team with a big that can single cover Edey. Doubling Edey hasn't really worked for anyone outside of Northwestern. Braden smith is too small to be effective if Edey isn't getting doubled

If they don't double Edey he will eat them up with those hook shots. Clingan gets into foul trouble trying to slap at the ball and the game might swing to Purdue.

Jeeeeez well the best I can say is at least Purdue's scout won't be too hard - they're basically playing a better version of themselves?

@@AllegedOrder You have to watch the games. It's a video on KZread talking about how creative UConn offense is. UConn offense is very complicated and it has 50 different varieties. This guy dumbed it down for people who don't really watch Uconn like you and now you believe what he said without doing research. I have watched every game for years and soon as I turned the video on I said to myself that this guy doesn't watch a lot of UConn games

@@AllegedOrder I watched them a lot this year and I know basketball. There offense is totally different. The do a lot of post up with edey and a lot of kick outs from the post no matter who they play it's basically the same. UConn does different things depending on who they play. Listen there are a bunch of videos talking about UConn's offense on KZread. Don't take my word go look at it yourself and tell me is it the same. Me saying that their offenses is not the same isn't saying anything bad about Purdue because I prefer that type of offense in basketball because I'm a 90"s guy. All I said is that the offenses are a lot different. Purdue is a great team and they get to the best player in the country almost every time. UConn all 7 players are their best players at any given time. UConn only had the same top scores 2 weeks in a row at the most. We had six different players lead in scoring at different times this season. I think edey lead in scoring almost every time but once.

So who wins? lol Uconn will be tough!!!

the only thing they will do is that edey can't score easily.... that's it... can u imagine the team that averaged 90 pts and one of the top 3 pts shooting teams lost by 14 pts while it takes PURDUE 40 pts and 22 fts from edey to beat Tennessee by 6 pts ??? I didn't catch their performance against NC STATE because they didn't play well against the #11 team even though they won. if NC STATE's opponent is uconn, the lead after the game is probably 25+ pts.

Purdue didn't play well? They were up by 20 at one point. Uconn runs up the score a lot. And Purdue doesn't when they know they can slowly beat their opponent.

Because NC State was awful, didn't show up. Purdue did not play well but it doesnt mean they won't on Monday...

UConn was up by 12 with 1:07 left, game is basically over, and they hit 2 3s to run up the score. Purdue just didn’t end the game that way, if they did it would have been a 20 point win.

@@robc1787 Yep, Purdue was up 63-43 with 2:52 left and let off the gas allowing the easy baskets for NC. Purdue went on a big run to close it out at th 8:04 mark on when it was 49-42.
