Amazing video! Agree with everything you have said. Another good option is to look at luxury CPOs ( Jaguar Volvo BMW and Merc), they make a lot of sense if one drives a lot of miles since they all have 5 year/unlimited mile bumper to bumper warranty and might be appealing to some people, but again if you get a Honda/Toyota/Mazda you will never need to use the warranty.

Thanks for all the info, appreciate you. Question - how long does it take to get over the "first time driver" insurance surcharge? Context - I have a decent credit score and history, but what I don't have is driving history in the country (never needed a car in NYC). I checked insurance rates in my area, its coming to about $600-$700/ month for a new/old SUV. These insurance rates are making hard to own a car.

Did u shop around from multiple companies? Progressive and state farm were quoting me around 400-500 for a very high mileage car but Geico quoted me 220 (1000 deductible for collision and comprehensive).

Thank you so much! I really needed this video! Do you have cheap auto insurance recommendations? If I’m financing it requires mandatory collision and comprehensive insurance. So far geico is coming out the cheapest around $180 :(

How old are you. People pay higher rates till they are 25. Insurance uses statistics to determine how much someone has to pay. I paid $400 for insurance on my first car I financed. I figured out that every few months when I'd call other insurance providers they would pretend like they were giving me "great news" and a cheaper insurance policy. But they were really just under cutting my current insurance provider to give me a great deal knowing I was paying to much. You have to keep calling different insurance groupes and agents and play the game of letting agents think they're playing you into taking their contract for insurance by giving you a lower and lower rate till your at the rate you should get. You need to own your car to get limited liability if you are a good driver to pay almost nothing for insurance. I own my two cars and pay $112 for both for insurance. Don't finance a car you can't afford. Means buy a hunk of junk and keep saving up for better cars you own. You won't pay out the anus for an insurance policy.

Root is typically the cheapest, I used to pay 200 for comprehensive insurance and now I pay close to 500 for comprehensive. The type of car you drive also matters a lot, in the market for a new volvo and the insurance rates are pretty cheap at 200$ for a brand new 60k car since volvos are generally safer

Did you take it? Im guessing it is your first insurance policy also? Do not be undetermined to keep finding insurance agents. Tell them you can't find anything cheaper than 120. If you say 180 is the cheapest you can get given your age and driving experience in USA they'll tell you they'll give you 180. Lie to them lol. It's not against the law and it's how you gotta bargain our horrible American companies. Also don't fall for insurance providers who want to gps track you to give you a lower rate. You'll only save a buck and they use the data they get from you to sell for advertising and they actually will log where you live, sleep, where your office is, etc it's horrible. Root isn't always the way to go. They want me to pay 150 for one of my cars meanwhile I pay $59 elsewhere. I hope you don't get screwed.

this contain inaccurate information. Here's a breakdown: Learner's permits are typically required before driving in the US, regardless of prior experience. Automatic transmission is common, but manual transmissions are still available in some models Buying used can save money, but new cars come with warranties and may be better suited for certain needs SUVs or sedans depend on factors like passenger/cargo space and fuel efficiency, not just location Rental companies do sell used cars, but there may be better options depending on the car's condition and mileage High mileage generally lowers the price of a used car. Honda and Toyota tend to hold their value well due to reliability reputation Building credit history is helpful, but explore loan options from different lenders to secure a good interest rate Additional fees are common when buying a car, so factor them into your budget Financial planning is important. Prioritize high-interest debt like student loans before car loans

Pro Tip. Save up $3,000 for a car. Don't finance your first car. Get an insurance policy for the cheap car that cost $59 bucks. Any scummy buy here pay here dealer will give you a $15,000 loan on a car that'll cost you $400 per month and $200 to $400 for insurance. I'm not sure why you think used cars cost more. For maintenance either. New cars come with so many problems.
