How To Buy A Used Car On Facebook Marketplace

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I show you how I buy used cars on Facebook Marketplace. I show the process of searching for cars, how to inspect the car, how to test drive, and how to negotiate. I also mention the important difference between buying a car to flip, and buying a car to keep.

    This an interesting way to introduce a new car to your channel. You covered EVERYTHING about the testing and acquisition of your Saturn. A first-time buyer is well served watch this video. My first car and my final car were both bought used…the first one was purchased before the internet and mobile phones were the rage, lol!

    @@bluesxt Oh…isn’t THAT the truth? Why, today, I finally summoned the right videos and websites…and a lot o’ courage…to wipe out the Chrome OS on my NEW Chromebook and replace it with Debian 11.6. I’m still kinda stuck on figuring out why the “xfce” GUI doesn’t work. Still can’t wrap my head around the fact that when I run LibreOffice on it, that program’s built-in GUI DOES work. Not used to this stuff, but I’d be sunk without the internet. Enjoy daily driving your Saturn. I hope you enjoy making content with it, too. Aloha!

    I disagree sir about not going far for test drive,you have to get that car up to about al least 55-65 for at least a few minutes to get that engine really hot

  • @bluesxt

    @bluesxt

    Maybe this is circumstantial, but what does test driving at 55-65 mph really tell you that you can’t find at lower speeds? Highway speeds is where you can find out if the wheels need to be balanced sure, but let’s be honest, is wheels needing to be balanced enough to prevent you from purchasing a car? There are lots of reasons you’d want to drive highway speeds before purchasing a car, I just think it might be a bit circumstantial as the issues that could appear at highways speeds wouldn’t personally prevent me from making the purchase on that car. :)

    @@Beth_Colvin Those old S-series Saturns were WELL KNOWN for ECTS failures, I had a 95 SL1 back in the day that I upgraded the ECTS to the newer brass ones just as preventive maintenance since I was a regular in an online Saturn forum where I found out about them... Great cars though, little quirks with them but they had alot of character.

    So how much did you pay for the car at the end? You said 200.00 off but what was the original price? I would not pay more than 1,500, no ac, needs tired, pulls to the right, electrical problems, no AC, transmission leaking, oil leaking, I would ask for 1,200.00 or walk away

    All you need to legally buy a car is a title in someone’s name with their signature in the designated spots that release their liability and enables you to legally transfer the title into your name. You don’t have to buy the car from the person who’s name is on the title, you just need the title to be filled out correctly with no mistakes

    @@toxiicmayhemzz6686 pictures won’t help. what you need is someone who is mechanically inclined enough to look at the vehicle in person with you. if not, then follow some of the things I mention in the video. Keep it running for a while (15-20 mins) to make sure it doesn’t over heat. Check for leaks, make sure the oil isn’t foamy and no oil in the coolant. And if the car survives a test drive then it’s reasonable it will survive your drive back home. And then from there just keep an eye on the oil and coolant levels for the next couple of weeks. But nothing is guaranteed reliable. Things go wrong. It happens
