Wait, the run for this is 2,000 units? I can't knock the company without knowing their situation, but it seems sorta dumb on their part to do such low runs because they are causing strife for fans and, more importantly for their business, leaving sales on the table. I understand creating a sense of FOMO and also whatever maybe-market-share-game they may be playing, but I'm guessing they could double (maybe triple) that amount and still be in a sell-out situation.

Also, I completely agree with the theory that Toddy Mac knowingly sold substandard versions (grey canopy) knowing that another run was coming. A company with better customer support and/or PR would have made good and offered a replacement part if not for free (that might be much), at a price that fits in line with the pricing of the vehicle. But then he probably pays a good amount of money to lock up that DC license domestically and he knows that fans/collectors/flippers will buy whatever is put out

In a couple more months they’ll come out with $150 dollar “Platinum label ultimate collectors edition” individually numbered, limited to only 1,989 made, 😂😂😂 I can see it now.

I'll keep it real Mad; I come to your channel because you keep it real and thank you for holding the line calling out the BS with industry practices. Anyone who's ever worked at retail or manufacturing know exactly what you are shining a spotlight on here. You're an influencer and this is what you do to make the collecting community better, some folks are so embedded in their selfish nature that they can't see past their own shortcomings to even comprehend why you made this video even though you already made the purchase. I've been collecting McFarlane's stuff since the early 2000s' and when I say collecting, I mean I used to order by the cases when I had it like that, followed him right up until he lost his mind with those sports memorabilia lines, so I know his MO. To make a long story short I more than anyone else wanted to see his reemergence but he fell right back into making the same old mistakes. We were told yesterday for a very limited release today which does not pass the sniff test, lending credence to what was already suspected with the original release. Every company makes mistakes and without community feedback those mistakes would go unchallenged which leads to zero growth as an industry, so I thank you for the service of being that voice and I say keep up the Madhattery....peace!

I tried my damnedest to get the previous one, and that was an absolute no-go, then tried to get this version...and nope! Swear to god man, if McFarlane doesn't at some point put this damn thing up as an open pre-order or whatever, I'm 100% done with Todd. It's an absolute printing money scenario; so if that doesn't become a thing, then seems like it's some kind of BS _'sorry you missed out 😄🖕'_ elitist thing.

I was checking on my phone while there and when I got home but going over the post mortem it looked like I missed the 12-nanoseconds it was up while I was driving home. Over the next hour it kept popping up as pre-order now but like I said, I couldn't. I'm sure between now and the next few weeks a second run will be available for pre-order with release next year. Same crap we go through with some Hasbro Pulse sometimes. I got in on that release second Mindbender that we should get this Fall.

Not knocking anyone who loves Toddy Mac's toy line (which for the price point is a good option for many), but I am glad that I have zero interest in the aesthetic and quality level of his toys. Mainly because it is one less thing for me to have to chase. That said, it is rough having the license for so many great characters tied up with a line that has no value to me. Thankfully there are some overseas options which are pricier but superior quality, IMO

My stores are absolutely full of armored batman and future state batman.

I don't have and refuse to make time to hover over my computer at a specific time hitting refresh to simply PRE-ORDER something. That's a game I refuse to play. If they can't have it at least be open for a few days or a realistic window, I simply won't have the thing.

This is the reason I didn't even bother with this batmobile batman 2 pack, knew it would be a shit show

Yeah, they're supposed to alleviate stress and not exacerbate it. At least NECA has taken a conscious effort to try and make things way less stressful for us, but absolutely not with good ol' uncle Todd with his 7" scaled '89(ish) Batmobile. Cause ya know, that's a real niché kinda item 🤦🏼‍♂️.

Managed to get my order in after it initially said out of stock. Never did see any of the 89 Batman in retail or available online, but plenty of Flash figures for days on end at Target. Between the gray canopy, glossy finish, and now this limited release, what a shit show! 😂

I was able to find the 89 batman at books a million plus the hush batman. They had a ton and the employee just put them out. Most of them still there today when I checked and that was about a week ago now when I bought mine. Apparently no one in my area collects toys.

I got it as soon as it dropped and I have both versions of the flash movie. We knew this was gonna happen. It sucks. Let’s be honest, he suckered us big time. Mcfarlane has always been like this. You know what was awesome. Playmates giving a release date for the TMNT movie figures. Gave us plenty of notice and it was such a simple toy hunt. We got what we wanted if we planned accordingly and all was right with the universe. I feel like I gotta jump through hoops to get some Neca and mcfarlane stuff.

I ordered the previous one, Amazon cancelled. I stopped getting mad and moved on and ordered the Hot Toys. I no longer stress myself getting McFarlane or Hasbro or WWe Elite figures. I moved on and basically quit those scales. NECA is no better, never really cancel, but I have other reasons.

The canopy was a mistake from the factory, too late (and too many) to change. It was supposed to be Black and yes, not only did they know they had 89 in the works (it was already tooled back then) but more "batmobile releases" coming.

I preordered the Hot Toys ‘89 Batmobile. I think it’s still available. Might have to sell a kidney though… 😅

Amazon canceled my first preorder of the batmobile. Entertainment earth has my preorder sold out backorder. Now this I guess I'm passing on having this batmobile.

I was waiting. I tried. I missed out so far. I'm pissed.

Wait… it DOES look like the Christian Bale head! Also the canopy doesn’t even open like it’s supposed to do. Smaller scale vehicles from Jada have done it. The LEGO “UCS” also managed it. No excuse from McFarlane. Also the gas caps (taken from a London Bus) are completely absent. I never was entirely happy with the products from this company as I struggle to make each of the figure stand normally. The one time I was sold on it was the Arkham Knight Scarecrow and, even then, it has some mistakes. That Gold Label is only there to sell repaints. They did that with a Spawn using a Mortal Kombat 11 release and they made a shiny box… containing a cheap repaint.

Such a dick move from McF - I had this in basket and it refused to process my order saying it was unavailable even though the main item page kept showing it was in stock. Why the hell would you make the Batmobile everyone wants such a limited exclusive with no indication of what time its going on sale!

These purchase drops that all the compnies do now suck. Collecting should be fun. Forking out money upfront and waiting months to get the product is ludicrous...so why do we do it. We should be able to buy the product at a brick and mortar store or order it online and get it a few days later. Im done with these toy drops. But hope anybody who wanted this updated/corrected version got one.

There's a Department store in the UK called, B&M they get a load of Mcfarlane so called exclusives a few months after initial release, for like 40% cheaper. I wish they'd get Neca stuff too

Glad you're calling McFarlane out on this even though you got one, there's way too much "got mine" attitude in the toy collector community. They knew the grey canopy wouldn't be liked, but did it anyway and made no mention of this new one. That's a scummy move. People are gonna say they're a company and exist to make money, but what, are we meant to excuse and accept anything a company does in the name of profit? What kind of world is that? These people are the brainwashed masses in every cyberpunk setting.

McFarlane toys quality and sculpts have been terrible since the Horseman left.

Of course they make these pre-order "drops" around working hours for adults (lmao). Missed it by two minutes. Kept adding to my cart, then seeing it disappear, then reappear for it to finally be sold out. Awesome. This brings back of NECA's previous pre-orders.

Amazon canceled my pre-order for the other Batmobile, and I didn't even see the posting for this one at all today.

We should all just stop buying the first product they put less effort on. And just wait til all the gold labels.

It seems Amazon was putting them back up on hourly rotation waves - there were people who stayed on who ordered 2 or 3 hours after the initial sell out. Amazon's biggest error imo was they didn't initially limit the quantity to purchase.

This is thw way of collecting these days. I'M OUT! It used to fun, it's now only paying a lot of plastic with a nostalgic feeling and waiting for it for 6 months until 1 year to have it. Where's the fubn in that. I say boycot this McFarlane and the scalpers by NOT buying there toys but a lot will so the circle is round and will be going and going until you get it. The funny thing is, you would think the gray canopy would be gold label since almost every time they do a gold label or a special edition platinum label. It’s always gray. You should make a video of you, shoving a bunch of fireworks into the gray one and blowing it up. You will go viral and gets so many subscribers and probably Todd’s ear. Lol don’t destroy toys unless it’s from passion.

The thing that gets me is that companies still make d*** moves like this on PREORDERS! Meaning it hasn't gone into production yet and the company can determine exactly how many units to make based on the number of preorder units sold. So isn't it win-win to keep preorders up for, i don't know, at least a week? Fans happy. More units sold. Still generates heat. More money for Company. Right? What am I missing here? lol

I had Amazon open on my phone the night before with gold label 89 Batmobile already in the search. Just kept checking and at exactly noon my time it went up. I got my one preorder in so quickly that they hadn't even added the photos of the Batmobile & Batman to the thumbnail. It just said Mcfarlane Toys. After I got my order in I refreshed it and the pictures were there. 5 minutes later and it was sold out already. The first time I was ever able to preorder one of his Amazon Exclusives before they sold out. This alone makes up for all the others I missed.

Now we need a top ten list at the end of the year of the biggest dick moves by toy companies!

I’m pretty much over this shit man. I’ve never seen that batman figure or that batmobile anywhere. Online or brick and mortar. I’ve never had a problem getting McFarlane stuff but they dropped the ball on these Batmobiles twice. I’m to the point that I’d rather them just make stuff to order and I’ll wait until they produce it. This is a tired business model.
