Worse is outside with no water bowl. Dogs are always salivating and big dogs can need a giant bowl filled in the AM and the evening again plus outside in twelve hrs her water must fill with bugs, a bad mosquito could disease her any minute. The food is torture too but she has passersby and a good two three weeks of survivability but I doubt as many people if any think about hydrating her even though dogs need more hydration than just about anyone but a hippo. And anyone who has ever gone even half a day with no liquid and knows what it's like to be truly parched I would starve for days to avoid that feeling, true medical thirst and dehydration is a fate worse than death.

Bless you for keeping her and not "rehoming her". Dogs don't know any better. She has chosen to trust and love you in spite of all of her horrors in life. Don't abuse that trust and love.

I am going to pick up a 17 year old cat in 4 hours. Her forever mom passed away and no one wants her. I am so excited and nervous, but will love her for the rest of her life.

Coming out of a bad place, I've been watching video after video of wonderful people like this woman rescuing animals. It brings good tears and a renewed faith in humanity.

It always amazes me when dogs that are treated so horribly have the capacity to forgive and to open their hearts to love. Thank you for being her hero.

Many people want a pet but far fewer are capable of taking care of another living being let alone themselves.

I watch a fox rescue called Save a Fox, and the number of people writing "They're so cute, I want one!!!" is frightening. Luckily, I know that Save a Fox just adopts foxes out to good homes, but there are also other ways to buy exotic pets in the US. These exotic pets will most of the time either be put to sleep, abused, or of they're lucky, go to a sanctuary, like Save a Fox or Big Cat Rescue.

@@solar0wind Good point; people who sell exotic pets need to spend a year in a cage the same size as the ones the pets they sell end up in. People who buy them should spend a few days in one, then be on probation for the rest of their lives; if they buy another, back they go into the cage for a year. They could no longer claim ignorance.

Most of the time it’s more so neglect. Probably just got the dog left it tied up and forgot about it. They didn’t beat the dog up they just forgot it even existed. Still sad though

I found a dog at the grocery store over a decade ago. She was tied to a pole in a grass area in the parking lot. The sprinklers were on and she couldn’t escape them. It was maybe 60° out and she was soaking wet. I waited for the owner to come out and realized it was a homeless man. I offered him $50 for her and he wanted the money far more than he wanted the dog. I brought her home, fostered her for a week or so while I looked for a private rescue who was able to take her in and get her adopted. She now lives in the country with a man who had just retired and had just had his dog pass. She has a huge backyard and every morning she gets to go out and run and help her person take care of a bunch of farm animals.

Hearing her scream about her separation anxiety, that was extremely painful to hear and watch. That poor girl has experienced some awful things and that's something that just painful to know. I really try to celebrate the successes and really appreciate the the people who care about the ones who have been forgotten and abused.

People who leave dog's tied up are not supposed to be having any animals. This is neglected and abuse. No dog should be tied up like that.

If the person who tied her there took her from an abusive situation, had no way to get her to a vet or a shelter, then tied her in a high pedestrian traffic area with something soft to lie on plus food and water (then watched from afar), that's better than leaving her where she couldn't be seen by caring eyes or where she'd get lost or struck by some vehicle. Someone without 2 pennies to rub together may have started the rescue by getting her to where she'd have a chance. Right? I would have taken her home, but not everyone can even hope to do that!

She has stolen the heart of the world. Safe, at last.

I had a dog That stayed by my side always. I couldn't go to the bathroom with out her. She didn't want me out of her sight. Doggies love can be overwhelming .

It was made a criminal offence under the last administration! So, an abuser will now serve time in prison!

Pup is of the Velcro breed. We've had 2 of these wonderful wonders for 5yrs, and the trait still appears. Treasure her conversations as she does. As you say, "she is my dog, and I'm never giving her up!" Nuff said. May you both live and love long, happy lives together. 🐾

These people who pick up the pieces and give themselves over completely to rescuing are hero's, pure and simple.. This lady is so amazing and I'm so happy you and this pup found each other..

This woman just teached to that dog that she can be loved and she can love back. It isn't a pet anymore. IT IS family now. God bless you that rescue this amazing dog
