and this isn't too far off from her character in the original story (As I sorta see "Epic" as a retelling.). As Circe mentions in "Done for" she says the following "My nymphs are like my daughters, I protect them at all costs" and then goes on to tell Odysseus why she doesn't trust men. Circe put her trust into strangers and was punished for it, now, with the mentality she carries that all men are Bastards, she turns men into Pigs, as that is all she sees them as.

The way Circe is animated just sort of bouncing around her palace, skipping and spinning along is absolutely delightful. There's so much energy and charm to it even for such a dangerous person. This is probably one of my favorite Epic animatics now.

Poseidon said "unless of course you apologize for my sons pain and all his cries." He could have resisted Poseidon's wrath if he had said the right things, or if he had just killed the cyclops in general.

With a character like Circe, A Siren/Temptress archetype, it's common to emphasize the eroticism. However, this portrayal is more dainty, a non-threatening and welcoming presence. While still retaining some sensuality. It's unique.

1: Nailed the "a woman." "What?" Was not disappointed. 2: Circe's design was great, and I love how animated you made her. I felt like she never stopped moving. 3: You had Hermes pop in when his musical cue was playing! Nice detail! 4: That camera turn switching between Circe and Odysseus was A+.

Wow my expectations were skyhigh, BUT you still somehow managed to break them. I am flabbergasted.

Oh my _gosh,_ Circe’s movements and expressions are sending me straight to Olympus. You can just tell she’s having the best time. Eury & Ody’s movements and faces convey their emotions so well too! The “wut” _sent_ me. 😂 The spider in the stained glass made me squee! Absolutely brilliant! The cuts between Ody & Eury and Circe were so cool. Everything about this is lovely, and it’s so amazing to watch your work improve over time!

YES!!! The "what was it" "a woman" Was captured PERFECTLY. I loved the almost grainy footage quality of the flashbacks around 1:16. It made it clear that this was him explaining the past and really gave an almost horror movie feeling.

The fact i had imagined Circe as this really pretty lady and then i see THIS MASTERPEICE on my reccomended- shes even prettier than my imagined Cice AAGH

Gigi!! Amazing job! I loved the detail at the end where you showed the pens full of pigs. That and the fact that Cersei served a pig to Odysseus's me is such a great and suble way of showing how ruthlessly she defends her nymphs.

God damn I love this. The transitions, the colors, Hermes, and OMG Circes’ design! I love her design so much, she’s so elegant yet also kinda sporty, and the _braid_ omg the braid! I love it all so fucking much!

That was..AMAZING !!! The men transforming , the background , the transition between Circe and odyssey , EVERYTHING !! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH I’M SCREAMINGGGG

I feel like I am to immature for this song sometimes. "Come inside." "Damn." That part always just makes me laugh.

AMAZING AS ALWAYS, But there were three things i liked in particular. 1. Eurolycus. I think this animatic has the most of him compared to your others, and i like that. 2. Circe. She was making feel things. 3. HERMES IN THE TREE. I like that you added him, because its clear he was there, with his opening line of wouldn't you like.

Oh this was amazing. 1) 3:40 I love the dance Circe does at this part. Why does it look so familiar? 2) Great touch adding in Hermes showing up to hear Odysseus' speech. 3) I love how you draw Odysseus. Every frame it looks like he's one more bad day away from breaking and just needs a nap. 4)I'm amazed you didn't have like a little circle pop up at the bottom right with Odyssues' head inside when he says "Damn!". 5)The reveal of Circe when Eurylochus says "a woman" was perfect. It just reminds me of the dark souls meme where if you see a big intimidating boss. Your good this'll be light work. If they're human sized? Run for the goddamn hills. And after they had to deal with the cyclops and Poseidon that was perfectly accurate. Since without Hermes help, Circe would have wiped out the entire crew.

I love the detail of Hermes listening in on the conversation when the lyre shows up. Love your art!

3:22 Knowing the queue when Hermes arrives is incredible. I love how Jay takes the time to explain the musical importances that arise in “Epic” with the Danger motif, and the important of instruments. With Hermes being a lute and signaling he was listening.

OH MY GOD THE PERSPECTIVE! Hermes showing up on his instruments, circy actually being free and singing in her castle. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH one thing i would like to see is at the "come inside! damn" part. it would be nice to see you lean in on that joke a bit more, but everything else makes up for it

SO MANY of these shots are amazingly animated!! the way circe moves is reminiscent of her being in her own little pop music video, the scene with the camera spinning around and cutting from odysseus to circe to back to ody is done extremely well without the viewer getting motion sick !!! all the detail from the body language to the camerawork is so, SO cool

first of all I love the palace design, but also I love that you keep the one eyed soldiers character from keep your friends close we love continuity.

This is easily one of my favorite animations from you Gigi. Easily the definitive version of Puppeteer. Additionally, such beautiful animations for Circe, including that adorable little hop she does, and the little details in the facial expressions of Eurylochus and Odysseus has already made me rewatch this four times. I hope you feel up for giving full versions of Done For and There are Other Ways as well, but I understand if you feel burnt out or are too busy

I like so much how circe just have the « good » energie side! It’s the only animatic i’ve seen that she seem nice and good! And i love soooo much the desing the « a woman » « what » everything about this video is just perfect Also the bond between circe and her nyphme! Wow

oh my god its so gorgeous already! I already know I'll be in tears whenever you animate the sadder songs, it's just beautiful.

I LOVE how you added Hermes where the music suggests his presence! It’s such a small moment and you hinted at it perfectly! Also the character designs and moments are amazing! I love how perfectly you captured Odysseus’ pain, and concern for Eurylochus. Also Cerci holding the face of the man then the pig is *chefs kiss* This video was actually made me realize how absolutely torturous it must have been to stand outside while the others went in. In the Odyssey ( and I’d argue in the musical) these men are STARVING. So Eurylochus- who hasn’t eaten in Gods knows how long- is smelling this delicious food (which you portrayed perfectly!) while he is waiting outside to make sure everything is okay. It shows that Eurylochus really DOES care for his crew- to the point of torturing himself keep them safe (which is what he’s doing- he’s keeping watch over them to intervene or get help if it’s needed). It also shows why his selfishness and cowardice takes Odysseus so off-guard- it is completely out of character (at least in the musical- the Odyssey isn’t so kind). And if the transformation he saw was as painful as the one shown here (excellent job!), it’s completely understandable why Eurylochus is so freaked out. It makes sense why he would so desperately want to save his friends (the rest of the crew), but most importantly his best friend. He couldn’t stand to watch yet another friend get killed horrendously. You actually succeeded in making Eurylochus so much more sympathetic and it’s amazing!

I’m in love with what you did with perspective. The camera circling them and switching between Cerce and Odysseus was just gorgeous. This whole thing was amazing. I love Cerce’s design and just how ‘peppy’ she seems.

the lioness traits in Circe's design are so clever. you cam see it in her silhouette with the flowers in her hair as the ears and her braid mimicking the tail, as well as her lioness style eyeliner

What I like about your work is that it shows the characters' true personalities instead of what the song is... Circe is bubbly and energetic. But she is protective. Which is also I like because in your work, you showed that Circe communicating to the Nymphs as well. Showing her interacting is very impactful in my opinion. I can see her being more of a mother figure to them now.

OURGH everything in this is so incredible!! But what really stood out to me are Circe's hand motions, they really made everything so dynamic and were animated so so smoothly!

Loved that this Circe’s type of seduction is so full of energy and straight on happiness. To me it feels as this is not an memorable one time event in her life, but an old game she is fond of playing, so much so that the scouts didn’t even noticed they were in the battlefield until it was too late. Other animatic I’ve seem show her like this high level methodic damsel, this young astute strategist energy that only needs them to commit one or two mistakes for her to win is refreshing. Thank you. Yours are, in my estimation, the most Epic animatics of the fandom,

All the different animals in the different windows I like that the nymphs look so unique from each other 2:20 Circe's affection for her nymphs! And how much her nymphs love her! Circe is so pretty and moves so smoothly! The spider window behind her while she calls herself "puppeteer" I like the transformations 2:37 Again, the nymphs are such individuals and I love all of them 3:18 I love Odysseus' expression here on this line Hi, Hermes! 3:28 The leaves! 3:40-3:47 CIRCE IS SO FLUID WHEN SHE MOVES 3:47-3:56 My favorite part, I love this sooo much, the camera circling and setting them up as foils in this arc by going back and forth between Odysseus and Circe The hanging pig and Odysseus at the end are cute Thank you for the great animatic! This is animated so beautifully! I love how Circe is constantly moving and is presented as such a beautiful threat, the actual conflict. The way the crewmen transformed looked painful as heck and the way Circe seemed to mock them after they were fully transformed. Should have been cautious of taking food from strangers. Delicious~! Also look at Hermes watching them talk about Circe likely deciding on how he wants to help Odysseus and this was just an amazing animatic. You put so much work into this!

Amazing work as always. I really like everything you did with Circe; I'm having a hard time putting it into words, but I feel like you balanced her really well, equally cute and cunning and playful and mischievous. She's not a girl boss OR a villain; she's both, which is how she should be. What I REALLY liked though was at 1:26 The way you animated him from the moment he says "Sir!" is almost exactly how I've always pictured that verse going down. Like he's a soldier giving a report, but it slowly devolves the more worked up he gets about the chain of events.

I used to think these animatic really bring back to the times when i used to watched szin's animatics of hamilton but this is just another insane level of quality, we just getting closer to a full on animated video

i actually can not get over the hand animation at 3:40 like oh my goodness, the movement and perspective have me rewatching like a maniac, not to mention the rotating camera just after. its so beautiful!!!!!!!! You did such a good job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love how she tells the nymph that she's got her brilliant touch, i love the design of Circe and her magic. the transformation of men to pigs was smooth and very well done, and honeslty i loved how you did the spinning and panning from Circe and Odysseus amazing touch that teases the confrontation high hopes for that video! (just realised you've already done it and about to listen to it now) earned a new sub from meeee someone pointed it out to me i missed it somehow but the Hermes appearance was great too!

This whole animation is so gorgeous - Circe moves with such dancelike grace that makes her whole character feel all the more magical. Also can we just appreciate how dynamic and cool this shot is at 3:40

As Odysseus said: "Damn!" The shifting, dynamic angles and extra poses make this so fluid, one of the better Epic animatics I've seen! I love it!

The little dance circe does kills me. I love it!! I love how small and dainty Circe feels, even compared to her nymphs. Like... She genuinely looks harmless.
