I am a fan of Leo Messi but I also like Ronaldo as a footballer. Don't compare them. They are very much different in playing style. I feel lucky as a football fan because I can see both Messi & Ronaldo. Next 2 to 3 decades we may not see any players like them. So just enjoy their games. Both of them are great.

Here’s another example of the media creating images of players. That guy just said Messi never poses for the camera when he scores. Imagine this: If Messi was tall and good looking like CR7, would he still be as likable? I highly doubt it. Why do people keep insisting there's some "next Ronaldo/Messi" as if it's a normal progression for any professional? It's not to be expected from anybody.

Anyone who has met Ronaldo knows he is not arrogant. But he is one to push back when pushed.

I was in Leicester Square, London, when Ronaldo was there for the premiere of that movie about him. The place was packed out, like it was for Star Wars or something, thousands of people (?) All jammed in to that small area and all cheering him etc. He handled himself very impressively too, and it was clear the crowd loved him, and he really appreciated it all. Both are great players (personally my favourite is Zidane, so cool, and the best I ever saw was Maradona, one man team often...)... But these two guys at the moment, and for the last ten / twelve years have been amazing, and both are loved, and both deserve it all.

Cus he is tall handsome and skilled at the same time, majority of people are the opposite so they feel insecure, so people love Messi more cus it makes them feel better about themselves, that’s it really

taral - players always make recommendations for the coach or the president but it’s up to the president to make it final. And Messi is well respected and completely deserves it but you can’t say you’d regret having Cristiano on your team because of a missed opportunity because cristiano has scored more goals in the amount of time that he’s been in Madrid compared to Messi’s years at Barca. ALSO cristiano has a national title, something Messi surprisingly cant relate to. Both are amazing players, I like Ronaldo because he is versatile with his scoring. Messi hasn’t scored a bicycle kick (correct me if I’m wrong) and not a lot of headers. I think Ronaldo deserves the respect from everyone now with his amount of success. He was missing in the first half of the season for Real Madrid and NOW LOOK AT HIM. Close to being the leading goal scorer for La Liga when he wasn’t even CLOSE in November...

Let me try to sum it up. I am a big Messi fan, my style of playing is quite similar, though I cant have Ronaldo's skill, power shots and body strength. In an all time greatests, I would put them both there. Yet I believe that Messi is something special, I also Heard some Players, as Lampard for example, that when Messi decides to be Messi, you cannot get near him. So I am Rewarding talent over work, as I would pick Mozart over Beethoven. But Ronaldo is Great to watch, his goals are amazing. Now, why media prefer Messi? It looks to me that Ronaldo is portrayed as cocky, arrogant and selfish, and sometimes it really appears so. When he makes an assist, he pretends the goal scores runs Towards him to celebrate. But his character is his character, and media should only judge by objective football standards, and that also is very hard, because what we like affects our judgement. Thats why all time great discussion is hard to do, sometimes you need stats but even stats are fake. Pele's 3 world cups have same value of Maradona's world cup, because you need to see their teammates and so on. At the end, this is really a team game, with a great individual imprinting. I got long here...

Until Messi proves himself by playing for other clubs and perform there like he does at Barca..I'll go for CR7 who did that already..

Ronaldo is a much more generous natured character, he will spend his time with all sort of fans that want to have a moment with him, and messi has bodyguards to shove little kids away from him. that says a lot about who is arrogant and aloof. From the interview I have watched some footballers say cristiano is a trained product/self manufactured and messi is natural/not human. It's like they are trying to say, messi is great because his skill is a gift from God, so human like the rest of footballer won't be in his level. Both deserve love, Ronaldo is out and out goal scorer that has skill and is what every scout would look for he got there from hard work and dedication. Messi is just natural talent he is not molded like every other player that's played though coaches and trained from youth system to do this, this way. He plays with a freedom and putting the side by side you wouldnt Messi by looking at size, build compared to Ronaldo as the best footballer of all time. To score 40 goals from midfield is just crazy not matter what league it's in. Just enjoy the game and you're team. We will be talking of these two for many years, as the pushed each other to be better.
