These Ramayana songs were played for my Great grandfather and Grandmother funerals in 1961, and 1962. I was a 3-year-old toddler who remembered it clearly as day.

I grew up knowing Pundit Nirmal from my great grand mother temple some 40 plus years ago.

Pundit Nirmal would always remain NO 1 may Lord Krishna blessed 🙏 his soul be safe and have a blessed day continue listening Jai Shree Ram 🙏💛💜❤

RĀMĀYAN-JĪ KĪ SUMIRNĪ - Bālkānd Sorath. (ĀĪŪṛāīū) (a) Jo sumirata sidhi ho-ī, gana-nāyaka karibar badana. Kara-u anugraha so-ī, buddhi-rāsi subha guna sadana. (b) Mūka ho-ī bāchāl, pangu charhai giribara gahana. Jāsu kripā so dayāl, drava-u sakala kalimala dahana. (c) Nīla saroruha syām, taruna aruna bā-rija nayana. Kara-u so mama ura dhām, sadā chīra-sāgara sayana. (d) Kunda indu sama deh, Umā-ramana karunā ayana. Jāhi dīna para neh, kara-u kripā mardana mayana. (e) Bandau' gura-pada kanj, kripā-sindhu nara rūpa Hari. Mahāmoha tama punj, jāsu bachana rabikara nikara. (So. 1.1) (a) Bandau` muni-pada kanj, Rām-āyana jehi' nira-mayeu. Sa-khara sukomala manj, dosha rahita dūshana sahita. (b) Bandau` chāri-u bed, bhava bāridhi bohita sarisa. Jinhahi na sapa-nehu khed, baranata Raghubara bisada jasu. (c) Bandau`bidhi-pada renu, bhava-sāgara jehi` kinha jaha`. Santa sudhā sashi dhenu, pragate khala bisha bāruni. (So. 1.14) Bandau' Avadha - bhu-āl, satya prema jehi Rāma-pada. Bichurata dīnadayāl, priya tanu trina iva pari-hareu. (So. 1.16) Pranavau` Pavanakumār, khala banapāvaka gyānaghana. Jāsu hridaya āgār, basahi' Rāma sara chāpa dhara. (So. 1.17) .

This was the first Ramayana LP in Trinidad. Pundit Kasi Persad did an earlier recording but it was on reel and cassette. During the 1950s - 1970s, many Hindu Trinidadians migrated to Canada (mainly to Winnipeg and Toronto). This LP went with many of them. My cousins and other members of my village played instruments on both this and Pt. Kasi’s.

Actually there was an earlier Ramayan LP by B.O. Girwar (popularly known as Mahahsay) released about a year before Pt. Nirmal's album.

My parents pundit. We also have this album. I used to play this when my mom passed in 2019😔🥺

this is my great uncle, my father who was very close with him has been looking for this Lp in physical form for so long but has never found it, if anyone knows of a physical copy that exists please let me know!
