Pumping water from shallow well using a solar pump in Uganda (Kyegegwa) over a long distance (620 meters and vertical height difference of 60 meters excluding well depth)
Pumped water is meant for livestock and domestic use.
A shallow water well was dug and constructed, water is pumped to a high elevated tank that distributes the water to cattle troughs by gravity.
The pump rated power is 2,200 watts, Four solar panels each of 495 watts each were connected in series.
The controller used has protective features like; dry run, over/low voltage and current, automatic cleaning function, to mention.
Some special features include; stainless steel impellers and body.

I wanted to ask about pump recommendations for a 70ft depth borehole. Ideally I would like solAr hence why I was interested in the hybrid controller. But the solar package I was quoted was quite expensive. Not sure if I was overpriced or not. I’m based in the uk but setting up in Togo.

@@jonahrunzo8430 Thank you for the information, the cost of solar water pumping system depends on several factors like depth, borehole yield, volume of water to be pumped per day, delivery horizontal and vertical distance, sunshine intensity in the area, to mention. Cost also depends on brand of materials needed. You may need to discuss the proposed quotation with the technical person who developed it.

Total cost depends on; water source type and estimated distance (both vertical and horizontal) to the reservoir, volume of water required per day, site location, to mention
