Pumping Tests with AquiferTest 10.0

Ғылым және технология

Using AquiferTest Pro, Mauro Prado presented practical examples of interpretation of pumping tests using analytical equations, as well as the use of inverse modelling of numerical models through PEST and Visual MODFLOW, which allows the interpretation of a much wider range of aquifer types, including heterogeneity, multiple layers, variable pumping rates and more.
Main topics covered in this webinar:
-Interpretation of pumping tests;
-Aquifer type identification using the derivative method;
-Interpretation of pumping tests in fractured media;
-Limitations of analytical solutions;
-Inverse modeling for estimating aquifer parameters with numerical models.

    Hello, and when we don't have observation wells, what are the procedures?

    Thank you for your interest, for pumping tests it is one of the test premisses to have an obsevation well.

    In this case you can use a fake well radius and pretend that the observation well is, say, 0.1m from the well. In this case the values obtained for Transmissitivity is valid as it is not dependant on the distance between the well and the observation well. However the value for storativity has to be discarded as it is not realistic. Thats why you can ave single well tets, such as slug tests or packer testa to obtain T,or K. But they will not provide S, Ss or Sy. Also, of course you can use single well tests to calculate well head losses and well efficiency
