Sure. You can set the pumping rate as unknown in your model and then perform the optimization.
hey is it possible that drawdown will be high enough such that water level in the test well will be below the roof of the aquifer
Its possible, but you don't do that for confined aquifers as you allow air to get into the confined saturated layer.
