I just got these yesterday, played NHL21 some BFV and they’re comfortable, I really believe it depends on your head size. When it comes to bass I’ve heard an uptake in base when playing NHL21, during the game they play stadium music and you hear the boom. To each his own tho.

An excellent, but more importantly honest, review. I picked up the SteelSeries Arctis 7P which I find to be head and shoulders above the Pulse as far as sound/mic quality is concerned - the only thing that sticks out as being sub-par is the integration of the headset with the PS5 (no ChatMix from the headset itself and you need to manually switch between audio sources when you switch them on/off). I am, however, concerned about SteelSeries after sales support. I would recommend buying from Amazon or Best Buy etc. if possible to allow an easy return if necessary. Subscribed.

I got an EASY 12 hours out of it. Ran through AC Valhalla and it was matching my controller life. I would say I was getting a constant 13-14 hours worth.

I tried ordering these when I first preordered my PS5, but they were sold out. Waited for more stock... and they sold out again. Ended up picking up a pair of Steel Series that advertised comparability with PS5 ( not that it matters) and they are AMAZING. For anyone that doesn’t mind spending another $60 or so, go with Steel Series. By far the best headset I’ve purchased.

Hey fellow gamer, i know your feelings. I use glasses too. Try corsair HS50/60 , most comfy by far for guys with glasses! Good quality, good sound and relatively cheap

I've used this headphone since the delivery of my PS5 on Nov 12th & it's absolutely amazing for $99. Sounds are clearlm and directional footsteps on point for COD. I have no complaints from ppl in chat about my voice in mic. These get really loud if you turn volume all the way up & I have two 15 inch subs in my hatchback. Comfort on point as well, definitely pick them up if you can get them for retail.

I really like the lack of mic boom, I'm not a streamer, just a gamer, so long as people can hear me ok I'm pretty good. I wish more people would work on the tech to make that better. Competition drives innovation. I'm shocked by how good the PS5 controller mic is (when used on a PS5, used on a PC there is 0 noise cancelling), so I appreciate Sony trying to make these physically compromised (they a literally pin holes in plastic) mics work ok.

@BriarRabbit I think I need to correct you sir 🙏🏽... From all I gathered, when you specifically plug in headphones (including the Pulse) to your Dualsense, you *only get stereo output... Supposedly the Tempest *3D audio/ VSS is only while synched w/ the bluetooth dongle... I think we need a Pulse "Platinum" that corrects Mic sound, and maybe adds a little chilling gel inside the ear cups to be a full worthy purchase...

So far i have tried multiple sound setups with the PS5. I tried Sundaras, Dt1990s, HD58xs, Dt880s, Dt770s, QC35ii and PC37xs through a D30 Topping amp that is fed from the TVs optical out. This way sounds good but you get no 3d. I have then tried running via the output of the PS5 controller and through a FiiO amp with the above headphones and had the 3d tempest with good sound. I also tried the Hyperx cloud flights and the Logitech G pro x wireless with their dongles connect to the PS5 and this 3D sound was the by far the Best. With the Logitech sounding the best. The sound stage was huge and imaging was really good. So what i have learned after a lot of $$$$ is just cause a headphone may be great for music doesn't mean it is good for gaming! Also comfort is KING cant listen to something if it hurts you!

Yes I did and returned them. Sound kept cutting out. Maybe i had got a pair of lemons. They worked for a little while.

Gotta try the kaira pro ps5. The haptic on low is great for gaming positions ect.. and for music or movies they bang!!!! I keep ‘em on low but they absolutely bang!!!!

My Playstation gold headset worked well but the build quality was not very good. I'm assuming these will start falling apart over time.

Have you heard of the Audeze Penrose headphones? They’re the first wireless magnetic planar headphones ever and they’re supposedly designed for the PS5 / Tempest 3D audio.

Thanks for the review. Bought and tried on and pretty instantly put back in the box a week before the ps5 even arrived. So much more uncomfortable around the ears compared to the set I've been using (Hx cloud 2s). Was tempted to try again for audio reasons but I don't think that's necessary now! Any plans to further test the ps5 3d audio in general? Maybe that sounds better through the pulse set? Am otherwise finding it somewhat nauseating (in D2) and had to turn off.

My Samsung tv has a usb plugin. Do you know if they will work for any sound coming from the tv or is it just for the consul and gaming only? If so do you know of a good head set that would work in that way and won’t break the bank?

Noise canceling is a feature for the built in 🎤 🎙 not the headphones according to Sony

@BriarRabbit Cerney stated that they have improved the mic volume/ clarity from the Platinum, and yet that is the one thing i can't stand is needed to remember if say, I want to post a clip or broadcast (poorman style) The platinum on the PS4/Pro muffles down chat qual. Did you end up seeing if your chat *specifically w/ the PS5 has better compression than your test? It's literally the one factor preventing me from purchasing it... I don't want to choose between "sound that takes advantage of any Tempest genies lol" and "Clear representation of my voice..." by switching back and forth if i want to do a voice overlay down the road etc...

So then what would you recommend to buy for the ps5? But also with great sound for music and movies as you were saying

I wouldn’t. These are garbage. Feels like 20 dollar Walmart headset. So if you don’t like good sound quality, don’t like comfortable ear cups, if you want have 0 sound cancellation go for it

This headset has gotten a eq settings on ps5 and that is a gamechanger u can have higher base and good presets

@@EchoKarasu believe it or not, for 3D Audio games like Spider-Man and Astro the pulse was convincingly better. Arctic 7p was more comfortable, but they did not image or float sounds in front or above the player as well as the Sony headset did. Arctis 7p are a decent stereo headphones but the 3D Pulse really did convey a surround sound bubble over my head that was missing from the 7p. The arctis did play slightly louder. I returned the Arctis 7P and picked up the Razer BlackShark v2 pro. The Razer is louder and destroys the pulse in non 3D audio games. But with 3D audio enabled games, the Sony came out on top.

My understanding is the mic monitor volume can't be adjusted. In parties others might be able to hear you somewhat (with the sub par mics) and but you may not be able to hear yourself. This is the main reason I'm sending it back.

Did you check this headphones being wired? Maybe sound quality is better in this case)) And what headphones at this price you can recommend for ps5?

Sony did a dam good job for these headphones for the price. I am dead ass serious. I have had all the top headphones and this is up there with the best. The Mic is crystal clear even better than the steel series which has a low hum to all of their headsets. This has to have the best mic thus far for gaming not anything else but gaming. The most expensive headphones out there have poor metallic sounding mics and they don't last long. These are comfortable and the sound is incredible. This is coming from someone who is a huge astro a40 owner which is by far is the best gaming headset overall out there for years. A40 a little pricey but not over the top, best sounds for fps gaming, Comfortable, A40 microphone is clear but comparing it to the pulse 3d the pulse is a little more clear. I think the a40 is more comfortable overall but the pulse 3d do good against the wireless astro a50. If you have big ears which probably this guy has like he says he has issues of a complete seal. My friend has big ass ears and 3d pulse he just got doesn't feel better than the a40 comfort wise but he enjoys the sound. I disagree with him on the mic. There are videos of people comparing the steel series against the 3d and the 3d doesn't have a hum. I have friends who have the steel series and they say the same. The mic you have to use on a console not a phone or elsewhere might sound different. The top most expensive headsets all seem to have microphone hum issues or the metallic sound. Bass is good in the 3d I am not agreeing. These are not for podcast so he is comparing this outside of gaming. For gaming these are built for gaming but other things might not be for that. Sony built this for gaming so his review is kind of off. I give the 3d 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you already have a headset like he said such as the astro a40 then keep your headset. These are far superior than Turtle beach.

My mic not that clear unless my friend just has is game chat up high? but he says I sound muffled/ in a tunnel . Though sound is good though find a bit sore on my ears.

I cans for your review which was fanatic by the way. Is nearly going to get them but I know from your review I would be disappointed and would rather save up more money and be happy with my purchase. Sound makes a huge distance so you don't want to be wearing something you are not happy with. I am sure my own back headphones with do a better job with my mic mod. I noticed I have the same glasses as you. I am fairly sure anyway. Are the I Oakley titanium prescription glasses? I love mine. They are so light I don't know I am wearing them. I end up in bed forgetting I have them on.

O hell no these head phones was fucking beast I have them and they are awesome base awesome yeah the design for comfort not that good. But the quality of sound is point on

Thanks for actually claifying that the 3d audio works with any headset. The marketing and naming for this thing is awful and implies that there is something unique about its 3d audio abilities yet other reviews fail to outline what that is because it doesnt exist.

All of Sony's press for audio has said any stereo headset will deliver 3d audio. They've been very transparent about that.

No. If you connect a random headphone into the controller, you can't activate Tempest 3D audio. It has to be a Bluetooth headphone.

My friend has this headset and the mic definitely sounds way better than that when we’re on party chat.

Frequency response, I would like to see. No one talks about it.

I don't know what kinda hearing this guy have, but on my testing overall those are great. In games,movies,music.. when you put more volume those come alive..only thing what it should have is wheel for adjust volume to the sweet spot finding. Button jumps sometime too loud or too low but its minos issue..i was at first..hmmm not good, but when i got volume right they came alive in a way had smile on my face. 😁 Psst use the chat/game volume and regular volume button give the punch they need. 👌

These are certainly PS5 only Headsets I would only buy them for use on my PS5. I have other Headsets for music and computer audio.

This is completely weird that a company like Sony which has plenty headphones of different types in their offer can't just make at least 2 dedicated headphones for PS5 like Basic and Premium or whatever they call it. I'd pay extra 50 or something for a premium headphones with everything better. Obviously they have the tech. Maybe they could at least software update their non-PS5 headphones to fully support PS5 with the on-screen notifications and stuff, that'd be a good option for people who requires very good quality headphones. That'd be such an easy move and a game changer for PS5 owners. As much as I like the design, there is no way a 100 USD wireless headphones are built with quality plastics, rubbers and most importantly pads. Sound quality might even be enough for games but again I'd pay extra to have headphones at least decent for music and gaming headphones are never good at that, I have Corsair HS70 Pro which I didn't choose and the quality in music/movies in comparison to my Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro with DAC is a pure joke... Yes the price is like triple but I can't listen to 200 bucks, it takes headphones... 12 hours is enough but not impressive at all and since batteries lose capacity over time, I'd prefer to have 24 hours initially with 12 hours after 2-3 years of usage instead of buying new headphones because because a battery lasts 5-6 hours which is sometimes just not enough. It looks like these headphones are pretty much cheap option with decent quality and I don't think that satisfies many people. It's good for the cheap ones to be available but there should definitely be premium ones available.

Yes it does work with the 3D, and surrounding. I don’t know about the other peoples experience on here that’s commenting, but I have had this headset for about 3 months now and I have not had a single issue with mine. I also wear glasses as well. A great headset especially for $100..

Yes it one plug for the headset in the front and on in the back

Connecting by cable to the PS5, you won't get 7.1 surround sound. (dont ask me why)

The noice cancel is just for the mic, not the headset. Its not optimal anyway Its a 100 bucks, don't expect perfect sound. These are actually the worst Headset they released, really disappointing.

I ended up sending mine back to Amazon, found these were uncomfortable for my ears and the mic wasnt as good as my steelseries

I play Six siege, and sound is very important. I really liked the sound of Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen1. But had to replace it because of the battery . The pulse 3d is an ok headset, i got it for 79 open box excellent conditions from bestbuy. Haven’t played a game with 3d sound, but so far the turtle beach is better. Mic is ok, my friends said i sound far from the mic. They didn’t really like it but it wasn’t that bad. Regarding the chat volume, you can’t completely lower the chat volume, you will still hear some chat. I prefer sometimes to completely mute the chat volume, but I can’t with one.
