Trust me, it sounds much different when you're testing it out. I got them in the mail yesterday and I tested them out, audio was good, but the mic doesn't sound like it does through these videos. Me and my friends noticed that the mic sounds much more muffled, it still sounds a bit clear though. The material that the headphones are made up of make putting and taking off the headphones sound like it's a cheap pair of headphones. My other pair I paid $70-$80 for feels and sounds better, but I'll wait until the ps5 is out to fully have my opinion on these.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised how good it sounded in the natural position. I expected it though because there’s no way they would market the dual sense with the built in mic and have it be bad

I believe Sony added dual mics on the Pulse Headset so glad that they did that. I know some people who've complained that the past Sony headsets always sucked in the mic department even though I've only experienced using the mic on 2 different version of Sony's headsets.

I decided to wait and canceled my order. I’m sure there will be several better versions of these in the future as were with the previous headsets

Just so people know the chat/game button is really cool. It’s basically like the chat slider in the party system that lets your party chat or game chat get prioritized for which is louder. So if you feel like drowning out your friends during a cutscene you can click game chat a couple times. You can find your own balance as well.

Main concern is the sides are solid plastic. That will be a likely breaking point. Plus if you have a tall head those type of elastic adustments don't tend to work right. I'm wearing one right now and many people have told me how they don't like it. When extending they extend inwards but since the cups are tilted so extreme it more just makes it wider than taller so bigger heads will have a weaker seal. Why when I get headphones with metal bands and that design I bend them to make them hold tighter.

I do hate the "leatherette" ear cushions, they ALWAYS eventually deteriorate and Sony doesn't seem to offer a cloth alternative.

I've owned both cloth and leatherette, the cloth ones get suuper dirty and are harder to clean, but they do last longer.

There are cloth protectors for quite literally all leather headphones online, 10$ most of the time, give or take. Some kits even have bridge protectors for the cushioning leather up top. If my headphones cost 150$, I'd get one of those

At least the ear pads on the Sony headset come off very easily for replacement. Its on the first page of the manual. Replacement ear pieces won't be more than $20

I picked up the Sony Platinum 3D headphones when I upgraded to the Pro, and they're one of the most awesome sounding and immersive gaming headphones I've ever heard. Super sturdy build quality too. Definitely check them out before you buy the Pulse model because at first look the Pulse overall headset quality and durability isn't on par with the much beefier Platinum wireless model.

The new Pulse 3D headset microphone is really good, especially for the price. I've listened to mics from other gaming headsets at around that price and they're definitely not as clear as this. Based on what you've shown so far, I'd definitely recommend this if you can spend $100 but don't want to spend more for things like the Astro A40/50.

$100 for a wireless headset of this caliber is actually really good! I used it for a 10 hour gaming session the other day and it went the whole time without needing additional charge.

I still use the OG Pulse Elite wireless headset on my PS4. Hands down my favorite headset! I wish Sony would make another updated version. The Bass Impact tech that actually has the headset shake makes them standout from anything else. Mine has similar wear and tear as yours but I’ve temporarily fixed it by using some zip ties and also Amazon has replacement ear cushions for like $12 and is so much more comfortable than continuing to use the old breaking leather ear cushions

You gain a new subscribers, love your videos bro.

My dude, get some replacement pads for your old Pulse headset. They're cheap and eliminate the need to pressure wash your ear holes because of all the pleather falling in there.

@@jordangroves9753 they're official ones from Sony. I've had similar headphones from Sony though that have been 3 - 4 years old and are the exact same as when I bought them ear pads wise, you'd only really need to replace them if you had a headphone related accident lol

I'm in shock that you still have that old headset. I wish I still had mine it was a great headset when it came out out and the years i used it.

He seasoned the new headset with the old one.

I have the Pulse 3D and the OLD Sony Pulse Elite( I STILL LOVE THEM). I have tested them both on PS4 because my post office lost my PS5... So far i can tell that ( IN MY OWN OPINION ) the old pulse elite sound a little bit better and its more comfortable. I like the new ones but i always got back to the pulse elite. @Mystic can you make a comparison video between them on ps5? Thank you

Sounds like he is being reserved, because he's really waiting for the PS5 to come out to really give a good review maybe. Ryan doesn't really strike me as a headset kind of guy anyways. I get what you're saying though.

I have a few questions please : Do you hear any static? Like from the wireless when no sound is playing and you just have them on? How is the sound isolation? Like when sound is playing and when it's not. Do you hear the sounds in the room around you?

Fun Fact: You can actually remove both Ear pads. Maybe this means if they start deteriorating, you can replace them.

@@luism8612 I just looked those up. They have a lot of the same features. The button layout looks similar too. Plus the one you have is limted edition. The ps5 headset, once they come out of being sold out, you'll see them everywhere. TLOU2 headset is a little rarer given that its limited edition. I'd keep those for sure. 👍

I got mine the other day and its very comfortable on the head. I got big ass ears and usually head sets are uncomfortable. These ones fit nicely and I look forward to trying them out.

Well, i think that the sound at least was clear. So it's a good option. I was also a impressed with the little microphone on the DualSense. I mean, it's just that after all. Something to quickly have in game when someone invites you in a party chat!
