Dude, you are the hardest working car rescuer on KZread. Others started their channels doing crazy revivals and now they do most of their work in a shop. Not you, I think I would have waited at least till it stopped raining. Keep up the good work. 👍

Well if you plan to do work a shop is an upgrade... most of us figure out quickly how much. your work improves having more Tools and a place to work in is a Must... but spending your life outside is your choice...he has a Shop too...😂

Every time Josh is in the video I am absolutely amazed how quickly he is growing! Such a good son and happy he’s there for you and I’m sure learning so much. My youngest tries her best to help me out but is well past the age your boy is and has other priorities now. Keep being awesome!

You are the Dad I wish I had had. I love the way you interact with your son. I've been watching for a long time and it's so cool watching him grow up.

The 1967 VW ads in GB called it the Equaliser Spring. Like Edward Woodward's The Equaliser it tamed those Oversteerers😂

Weather adds 10% difficulty to trailer unloading...you should be leveling up soon. Thanks for the shop tour: the dune buggy and the Corvair look like they're worth the price.

Brought back memories of 1967 my father and I replaced a 1962 trans . I kicked it in and busted the boot on heater cable tube. I caught hell . That was 12 bucks you damaged. It was the beginning of my love for VW's . I bought so many parts at the dealership they offered me a Job . Took it rest is history.

I was thinking that was the heaviest VW on earth! Must have gold floorplans, that tractor can't even move it!

Interesting hearing your asking prices--Had no idea the dune buggies were so desirable. Would have thought the Corvair was worth more. To each his own! Thanks for sharing your exploits.

So glad you are ok. When Herbie came forward in the beginning of the video, I thought the jack flipped over and you were in front of it. Then you were gone for a while out of sight. Then you popped up and said got it with the strap.

I had a 1957 bug. I rebuilt the 36 hp engine. Installed new heads. The one thing I did not like about that model was you always had to drop the engine out to work on anything major. The first gear always had a knock. Bad bearing. But I drove it that way several years till I sold it. Not a winter car for sure. I drove to Conn one year in a snow storm. Snow was blowing up out of the defrosters and ice on the dash. After that trip it was sold and I bought a brand new 1971 Jeepster commando.

Jason I blame Dubwerks for not being there to unhook the cable LOL, have done something similar, my wife and I went to take a boat ride we untied from the dock I go to back away from the dock and we stuck and basically not moving, come to realize we were still attached to the dock via a chain I have just in case the ropes let go. So pretty much doing what you were doing, great little video and holy crap that was some rain.

Loving the Harbor Freight 8 ton hydraulic bottle sledgehammer.

Things are back to normal at Jason's house. I hear they have invented a thing called a "raincoat". Maybe you could look into that.

In the pouring rain too! Dedication. Can't get anymore wet after a certain point...

I allways called them Transaxles and that rain was so not CGI.

@@5150mxVW seriously... a couple of 2x12s with some carriage bolts sticking through as locator pins that will catch on the ribs of the ramps.

I know this is off the subject, but did you know a coffee maker was an option on VW bugs starting in 1959. I didn't until I saw a picture of one today.

Found this on google: There's been a photo being shared online that shows a 1959 Beetle in Germany which had a coffee machine mounted to the dashboard. It's true, VW did try this. It was very rare, but it did exist. The coffee heated up by being plugged into the old lighter socket, similar to brewing tea. The cups were also held on by magnets.

I'm guessing the gears are jammed between 2nd and 3rd, (someone tried power shifting a tired old gearbox) all you had to do is open the oil fill plug, stick a flat blade screwdriver in there and move the gears around forward and aft. that usually unjammes them. If that's what's wrong anyway.

It took a bit to unload the trailer, I thought maybe you were just waiting for the rain to pick up.

Also don't feel bad Jason back 1986 my late Father & Uncle bought used Loader tractor Desiel motor at Farm Auction sale and had get home farm and guy put on flat float bed and was early Winter Season months and slip off float bed tow truck on going Reverse after chain also bed was tilt too and lucky flat land on farm near machinery shed to is ! Nobody got hurt and weird part light hit tractor on hood and some how fire up to with key ignition switch to on and starter turn over without touching starter button and glow plugs switch too ! So funny and then start to freezing rain and snow hard for 3 hours and getting tractor in machinery shed too!
