Pulleys | Find IMA, AMA and % Efficiency | Simple Machine

The simplest way to find the IMA of a pulley. Ideal mechanical advantage of a pulley does not have to be a hard topic, it's easy. Once you know the IMA of a pulley, solving for AMA or the actual mechanical advantage as well as the percent efficiency is easy.
Pulleys are commonly used simple machines and it is important to understand the function of a pulley in order to succeed in both physics and engineering.
Simple machines commonly come up in physics, AP Physics, and in high school engineering courses such as Project Lead the Way Principles of Engineering PLTW POE.

    Great info I had a question in regards to input distance, is it possible to reduce input distance if your creating a lift in a garage, Setup would be 4 static pulleys on the ceiling feeding back through guide pulleys, to a load bar that would receive the 4 cables from the corners of the lift, with a single output heading towards the wench/handcrank Would there be a way to reduce the input distance due to space constraints ie only have 4 feet to work with but want 8ft of travel on the lift
