@@R1200RTGuy I just got back from a ride on my klr 650. I have the klr dash installed with a longer screen. The KLRD fixed some of my buffeting problems and this visor took care of the rest. I am now ready for my trip next summer, save panniers.

Straight to the point, no silliness review. Thank you! Stupid question time . . . Can you adjust the position on the fly by muscling it with your hand or do you need to stop and loosen screws or bolts with a tool.

Hi Greg....I think I probably could move it up or down on the fly by reaching over the screen. I might be better to stop though because my guess is it will take a little leverage at that angle. I've not tried it, but when I wash the bike, I can move the Puig to the side with some small pressure rubbing off bugs. It's a bit stiffer moving it up or down though. The only screws holding it are the hex screws that pinch the clamps together on the windscreen. My comparison to moving it up or down, side to side is a bit like a full-faced motorcycle helmet visor. You know how they click into positions when opening or closing, well the Puig is like that bit stiffer, much stiffer. More like ridges of teeth that fit together, like the teeth on a cell phone belt clip (Otterbox) when you rotate the clip. I hope that helps. By the way....IN my opinion, no question is really stupid; anyhow, yours was not. Thanks for watching and asking about the Puig.

Love my Puig....2016 GSA - PLUS I love answering the stupid questions..."Whats that?" standard answer number 4 - It's my helmet refractor, but it only works during the day.

Do you think that this will work on a sport bike? I've already ordered one so I suppose I'll find out for myself eventually but I struggle with wind noise even though I have a "touring" height windscreen.

The screen seems to be pretty versatile. I was a bit worried when I first started putting it on my bike because the clamps did not fit flat up tight against the MC windscreen. The claps seemed more like they were designed for a flatter windscreen. But, once I tightened it down with the Allen wrench, it became pretty snug and mostly flat. The clamps are still not 100% flat, but not worth fretting about and they clearly are not going to move. The clamps have little, cabinet type clear rubber stubs on them to prevent scratching the bike's windscreen. Those rubber stubs help even out the flat issue. I have a lot of miles on it now and it's still tight. Let me know how it works...I am thinking you should have no problem getting yours to mount.

I getting ready to order one for my Yamaha FZ6R. I have the Puig touring screen and want to add the deflector. Could you explain exactly how you used the zip ties? thanks!

I can...so, go to the URL (below) and view the pic. It's the only way I can explain this without being able to add a pic in KZread. Good Lord that is a huge link!!! When you are viewing the pic, the bracket on the right will be what I refer to. There are two flathead screws on the black bracket. I placed the zip tie around the bracket between those two screws. I eventually trimmed the zip ties. You can actually see the extra tie pieces in my video during the test. I used small enough ties that they are not noticeable. The other side of the bracket looks identical (same screw design) Did I really need to do that? maybe no, but it seemed like a weak point that could allow the bracket to split apart and then I'd be looking for the screen on the highway after it caught the turbulance. Now for the news that I found a bit disappointing. Those flathead screws are not real. They are imbedded designs in the bracket, DO NOT try to turn them with a screwdriver. The two pieces actualy press together, they do not screw together. I was disappointed. All I could say to myself was, "really? Plastic!?, you pay this mcuh and you get cheap plastic brackets? The other parts that fit to the bracket, (i.e. the one with the silver hex screw showing, is aluminum and is solid. Well, 5,000 miles later and it holds like a champ, so it's not all that bad. I would still prefer aliminum screwable brackets however. Let me know if my explanation helps to ID where the zip ties were used. images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=AwrExdyrnHhcLyQALHqJzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTIzbWUxZDVpBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDaW1nBG9pZANlOTE2MmNiZWUwNjljZmNkNjI5ZTVhNDkwZGZmYmU2ZQRncG9zAzIzBGl0A2Jpbmc-?back=https%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dpuig%2Bwind%2Bdeflector%26n%3D60%26ei%3DUTF-8%26fr%3Dyset_chr_syc_hp-s%26fr2%3Dsa-gp-images.search.yahoo.com%26tab%3Dorganic%26ri%3D23&w=1141&h=642&imgurl=www.nc700-forum.com%2Fforum%2Fattachment.php%3Fattachmentid%3D11491%26d%3D1393439617&rurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nc700-forum.com%2Fforum%2Fnc700-mods%2F4512-puig-wind-deflector-5.html&size=96.8KB&name=%3Cb%3EPuig+wind+deflector%3C%2Fb%3E+-+Page+5&p=puig+wind+deflector&oid=e9162cbee069cfcd629e5a490dffbe6e&fr2=sa-gp-images.search.yahoo.com&fr=yset_chr_syc_hp-s&tt=%3Cb%3EPuig+wind+deflector%3C%2Fb%3E+-+Page+5&b=0&ni=144&no=23&ts=&tab=organic&sigr=12c0e8rbq&sigb=14qu0rfjc&sigi=128go1qha&sigt=11367j6hd&sign=11367j6hd&.crumb=7lUlVOeRLA5&fr=yset_chr_syc_hp-s&fr2=sa-gp-images.search.yahoo.com

do you think it needs to go at the top of the screen for the best effect ? My screen is quite narrow at the top.....

This is what I did....I put it on...it only attaches on the top edge. There is a drill and screw on model as well. I opted not to get that type. Then I raised the deflector up and down to see where the sweet spot would be with my bike; I also canted it forward backwards. It took a few short 3-4 mile rides to dial it in. Yours might be very different. I'm pretty happy with it. The type of helmet I ride with also makes a difference as does whether I am riding with my camera attached at the right side of te helmet. All of those factors contribute to wind noise more or less. I hope this helps.
