I ended up getting the Wunderlich touring screen and pair of supports from a UK based company called Cymarc , these look very similar to the Puig ones but have moulded knobs on the end of the holding screws so you can undo them and adjust the height using the standard adjuster knob and then tighten securely for when your riding. I'm from England and riding a triple black GS 1250 TE which I'm very happy with and also 6' 2" hence the need for a taller screen, anyways ride safe and I hope your big tour goes well ! 🙂

Bizarrely, I’m your height, have the same bike and found exactly the same issue with the stock screen. I too bought the Puig Touring Screen and long story short… it cured the buffeting I had on longer runs. Good luck with your trips. Neil 🇬🇧

I really enjoyed the video and I learned a lot. I am getting delivered both the fixing support and screen tonight and will attempt to install, but anticipating issues like wrong hardware, I already called PUIG and they told me that SOME (very few) were shipped with missing screws and or wrong screws, and if that is the case, I just need to place a call, document through email and they will send the screws for free...NOT SO GOOD, BUT IT IS A SOLUTION. also PUIG told me that if I am not doing technical OFF-ROAD (!) and just highway, the fixing support brackets is not needed as it the screen was designed to work without it. Thanks again and please share with us the riding video if you have it. Cheers

Thanks for watching! I'm not sure why Puig would say that about the support bracket. I'm much more concerned with air pressure from high speeds than vibrations and pressure from the weight of the windshield in an off-road situation. Also, I would really not recommend using a touring windshield off road. It's well documented that it's dangerous for your face and throat. I'd remove the windshield altogether if I was to run a highly technical off-road track. The riding video and review is currently up on my channel!

Thanks for this. Really helpful. I was wondering whether you(or anyone else) has experience of fitting the screen reinforcements when there is also TFT anti theft brace fitted?

Thanks for watching. I'm sorry, I don't know about fitting this with that TFT device. If it has the same mounting points, you just might need longer screws to accommodate for the extra thickness of that brace. Just a thought.

I look forward to seeing how you like the windscreen you just installed. Do you happen to know what the difference in height is between this Puig touring that you picked and Wunderlich marathon? I'm 2 meters tall and with the stock GSA screen even in the high position I can't ride comfortably at speeds above 80 km/h 😢 So I'm looking to buy this or the marathon one. Thanks!

Working on that video now! You're taller than I am. The Wunderlich is 524mm high and the Puig is 545mm high. I would pick the highest one and add a wind deflector like I did. You'll see soon once I post my new video. Subscribe if you haven't already, so you can know when that comes out. Thanks for watching!

Greetings from Paris ! Thank's for sharing all of this, including the troubles you faced. I'm also buying a 1250 GSA very soon and considering to buy this exact same windshield (I did also feel the buffeting during my testing ride, I'm on the tall side too) : how did it go during your trip ? Do you recommend it ? Is it sturdy enough ?

Bonjour Laurent. A+!

Get you crap together Puig! There are more complaints about the missing hardware than there are positive comments. Your lack luster attention to detail should be embarrassing for the amount of money you charge (for a plastic windshield, that scratches way too easily) to the customer, only to tell them (YOUR CUSTOMERS) to document missing hardware and email them the photos and information so you (PUIG) can then ship the correct parts to the customer. Its your duty as a business to insure your product is a better choice than the same products from your competitors. We, the customer, do not get paid to be your inspector, we are not your QC (Quality Control). We are the ppl that keep you in business. We are the ppl that just want to ride our motorcycle trusting that our hard earned money is given to a trusting business that understands how important their customers are to the future of your business.
