Mine does a dance of joy when I ask, "Are you ready for bed?" (This is because he sleeps with me; he immediately gets in, takes over the bed, and kicks me over to the side.)

lol, my dog is the opposite, she will try to lead me to bed as early as possible and will refuse to get up in the morning... of course she sleeps in my bed every night xD

My cat, Lottie, does that with me! She often gets a bit hyper around what she thinks is time to go to bed, goes into the kitchen waiting for me to give her a bit of food before we go up, and then when she's eaten that (and maybe done a pee in her cat litter tray!) gallops in and out of the living room at about 100mph, to the bottom of the stairs and back again, while I finish up in the kitchen. When I head to the stairs she races up, sometimes jumping on the banister, meowing quite a bit, and then when I go into the bedroom she hops up on the bed onto her fleecy blanket on 'her' side of the bed and settles down! It's so funny and she does it every night ! !

aLoeVera talk to them, that little thing change all. i used to have dog but never talk slow to them ej: water and show them the water.... they never understand what i say....NOW i have a dog who knows perfectly words like walking, go outside, water, time to eat and TIME to go to bed, she heards bed time and go super happy to under my bed lol

aLoeVera well yes, normal but slow they will learn so many words... my dog also understand "bring your toy" "eat" sit down ... and a few more but dont remember. according to some studies dogs learn up to 30words so that's cool

Aye, once you have a good schedule where you can trust the dog won't need to go out during the night, and you know it won't destroy furniture, you can just leave them out no problem.
