Puffin Party Extravaganza: Discovering Haystack Rock's Tufted Puffins!
Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach in Oregon is an iconic destination known for its Tufted visitors. Along with the Puffins, Common Murres, Black Oystercatchers and other Pacific Northwest species can also be found here. We explore the rock in order to have the best puffin experience possible. This was filmed in early July.
Special thanks to the Burden family for showing us around Haystack Rock!

Thanks! They were super cool!
I went to Haystack Rock today but was disappointed to learn that Puffins are migratory so this time of year there’s none around. This video is a great consolation though! Thank you!
All puffin species can be found in the United States
Thank you!
When Ryan said that its a legit "puffin party" I knew this was going to be a good video
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Puffins! So cute. I hope you come to Washington!
The Burden family :) That is SO appropriate :) lol These are some super cool birds :)
Cannon Beach is a beautiful touristy town; Newport is a small town with everything you need...Seaside is a different town/tourist vibe. Oregon Coast is special.
Holy crap I need to take my binoculars next visit to Cannon Beach
Great stuff guyz👍☺️😎
Excited to see more of your Oregon adventures
Saw them this summer!Amazing!
What cute birds!! Always liked the Tufted, they look like performers to me - Top Billing Pianist Plays Carnegie type thing! And it's so lovely that there are people actively looking out for the habitat, the beach and the birds and all. That's the level of care that I wish we'd see everywhere! Seems like a Puffin Party is the best party!!
What a great bird! I loved birding the Cannon beach area and photographing tufted puffins and can’t wait to go back! Love the videos!
Congrats on the tufted puffins! They are super cute! I have never been to Oregon, but now I want to go there! You two have had several great trips lately! 😊
Derek when you were there I noticed a few shorebirds , did you have many Warblers or any Oriole's or anything like that . Great show as always .
Haven't seen an auk of any kind for years... they are so interesting.
I'm so happy for you guys!
They’re so cute!!

Dang! We said Horned in person, but cut that section and must have changed it on the voice over. Edited it out. Thanks for catching it!
0:30 You guys might want to double-check that binomial name. I think it's reasonable to say that the Atlantic Puffin is not, in fact, the same as a Solitary Sandpiper.

Shoot, sometimes a scientific name slips through the cracks 😂

What month were you there?
