The Caribbean side of Costa Rica is like a different country. It is indeed like being on a Caribbean island. This is a great example of how diverse Costa Rica is. The Caribbean coast is completely different than the Pacific coast. The northern Caribbean (Tortuguero) is different than the southern Caribbean (Puerto Viejo on down to Panama). The northern Pacific and Nicoya peninsula is different than the southern Pacific. Then you have the central part of the country from north to south. Cloud forests, rainforests, etc. So many different biospheres. All within a country that is only slightly bigger than Denmark and slightly smaller than the state of West Virginia in the United States. It feels much bigger than it actually is. Because of the rugged terrain and the fact that the roads suck 😂.

I think east of Costa Rica is cheaper than the west side and I think it's the same rule in Mexico. Stick to the Caribbean side.

(The colliding currents from the Pacific and the Gulf of California are so strong there that few dare to swim around those panoramic, but extremely dangerous rocks at the "Land's End" southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.)

Seeming we aren't allowed to travel outside of Canada at the moment technically i've been watching all of your videos and enjoying them through you. I started watching when you released the video on Manzanillo, MX as its one of my favorite places in the world to go to. I have many friends there. Keep up the great content William!

we have been living on the Guanacaste beaches for about a year and will be moving to Puerto Viejo in June for at least four months, maybe longer. Great video, well balanced with camera views and information. I like how you give an idea on the cost of living. Thank you, safe travels my friend.

Thanks! Yes I have traveled to so many places and if I dont have a place to stay it doesn't make me worried. It has only happened to me once that I didn't find a place to stay in. I sat in a bus station then and took a bus at 5 in the morning.

Beautiful video, scenery and unspoiled beaches everywhere in Puerto Viejo. So far the Caribbean side is the best. Prices very affordable in hotels and food, everything fresh. Good that you did some biking with friends. Cost Rica is very safe. Take care!🙏🙂

Your drone shots are spectacular 👌 There used to be a really cool restaurant called Lazlo's Catch of the Day...you could go fishing with him and he would cook and serve your catch! Really informal and authentic. Enjoy your time there....its great to see people enjoying life there in PV.

Can't beat the Caribbean vibe. Cool video on Puerto Viejo. Enjoyed the scenery and beaches and looked like a fun place at night also. Appreciated the info on prices. Much cheaper compared to the pacific side. Watch out for snakes as you walk through the jungle in your flip flops :)

Hey William, Puerto Viejo is stunning! Since you love the jungle/trees - then you must check out Gondoca/Manzanillo! It’s about 12 miles south of Puerto Viejo. The bus ride is 7.000 colones. When you get off the bus - keep walking south until you reach the park entrance. It’s free..and please don’t forget your drone! That place will forever live in my heart! 💕🏝 ~Pura Vida 🇨🇷

It is all the coral in the Caribbean that releases that white sand. That is why the water looks more clearer and blue. You are also closer to the equator that is also why is so lush in vegetation. As always, beautiful video.

I think maybe there had been a lot of rain before I arrived but I'm not sure. The weather was great when I was there.
