My local Walmart wants me to be a Cashier but they don't want to pay me for my work. They call it *"Self Check Out.* I feel I should at least get a 5% discount on my purchase or something, but they want me to *DO IT FOR FREE.*

Lol the customer is like yeah yeah just hurry the hell up.

I wk at walgreens I bag there stuff differently like medicane by its self and canned food by its self I never put cold stuff with dry good and always put cleaning stuff and meet in its own bag seperate

Safeway and some stores have a mystery shopper , if you don't say what you are suppose to as a cashier you can be terminated. So unfortunately in those cases "customer service script" wont always seem authentic.

Well, most of these places are union (including Safeway), so you wouldn't be terminated for something like forgetting to ask for coupons, even chronically. If you work for a union store with shitty management, the worst thing that would happen to you is you'd maybe get moved to another department for not 'following the script'.

I try to change it up a bit, like "Hey. how are you all doing today? I hope you found everything alright?" Or How's your day going? Did you get everything you needed today?" I try to personalize it, I really don't want to be robotic, because I truly hope my customers did find everything okay, I love my customers, they're great.I like when my regulars come in, its always fun!

Im trying so hard to better myself right now. I bag their items and put them in their carts. Your not really suppose to do that were I work since it gets so busy but I try. Customers just want fast service over quality most of the time though.
